Thank you so much for this guide! This is my first monster hunter and I was getting overwhelmed by all the menus and the amount it was throwing at me at first. I really wasn't having fun and was feeling pretty sad that I might have wasted my money. Just learning the basics at a bit slower pace and bit more detail made so much difference and I'm beginning to really enjoy this game now. Thank you

@@FoxFandango monster hunter 4 ultimate is my all time favorite, there surprisingly a lot of people still playing it online, the quests and maps are fun. Music slaps. Gaijin Hunter last week on 3rd fleet podcast: "I want to keep my guides about 15 minutes long this time around" Gaijin Hunter this week when he actually posts a guide:
In the same podcast he mentioned that he's making a multiple hour long beginners guide while he's actually playing a completely new character only for that purpose.
Late to the show here and just picked up this fantastic game for the first time but it is very overwhelming just understanding some of the core basics. Most beginner YT guides breeze right past all the stuff he covered here like hiring another buddy, how to upgrade equipment and traversing the map. My first quest to get those herbs took me about 40 minute because I couldn't effectively climb the hills with those bugs. Something simple like loading out your pouch was something I needed to know. I'm an experienced gamer and have taken on all kinds of games like the Souls franchise but this game requires some time and brain training to get up to speed so this video is a must see. Thx!
As a new player to the Monster Hunter universe, I personally found this video to be invaluable! I would absolutely recommend this video to anyone who is new to the series. Thank you so much for your time and effort!

You're amazing for making this! I'm a few hours into the game, but still overwhelmed. 20 minutes into the video and I've already learned so much - I have a HOUSE!? 😅 This video is incredibly useful and so much easier to understand than the in game tutorial. Thank you!!! 😊
I'm glad you're here to walk newcomers who might not have a close friend to walk them through the beginning stages of the game. Getting over that initial hump opens the door to a magical journey, and I hope this helps out some newcomers - just as you've helped out so many of us in the past as we learned the games for the first time!
As with your M4HU tutorials, this makes the fundamentals and targeted tech like how you *actually* traverse with wire bugs, various tweaks to game systems that are really impactful (!), what your focus should be, and how to think about the game so much clearer. This is necessary viewing and essentially unlocks the real game, and quickly, for many of us. Thank you so much.
Thank you so much for this video! Seeing you video gives me the tutorial and explanations that I need and feel better at getting to play the game!
Thank you for this awesome guide! I'm new to Monster Hunter, and your slow pace helped me to understand and get a grasp on all the different mechanics! Most other video's explaining Monster Hunter are too fast to follow so yours is the best!

First starting out the game on PC, never played a Monster Hunter game before, except World which I quickly dropped because all this stuff just seemed to complicated. Was about to get frustrated with Rise, too, but your video helped me in keeping interested and I actually started doing well against Monsters instead of just wailing away at them. I have tried learning this game for some time, and each time I hit a wall learning the controls. Thank you for this great video, I am finally looking forward to playing this game until MH Wilds come out next year!
You really think a beginer will look to an almost 3 hours long tutorial and will be happy to watch it? Its easy to forget that not everyone is as passionate about mh as we are, and i feel like that would only make your friend not want to get into mh.
This is one of the all time best videos I have ever seen in the game guide category. I am talking up there with Day 9 beginner videos for Star Craft 2 level. I played about 7 hours and thought that it was not so opaque as people make it out to be. Then I watched this video and saw what I had missed hahah. Amazing content and thank you, thank you, thank you.
Gaijin giving off some major Bob Ross vibes with this one. Fun, informative, and chill. Really enjoyed the video, even as a long time veteran of MH. I appreciated the fact that you kept the information to only Rise instead of adding "back in my day" bits. I'll definitely be sharing this with new players.
I just want to say thanks for all the beginner stuff you do!!! I found your guides back when I first got gen u and wanted to play a palico, and they got me to branch out and try the weapons and they always inspire me to get back into the games. I'm an off and on player, so my progress has been painfully slow over the years, but anyway, thanks!! So much of your advice has applied across all the games and it's just great that you put all this work in and have such a relaxed vibe.

Picked Rise up on impulse due to being bored of my games on switch and your guide has helped me "get the game" finally. Can't stop playing it now. Thank you so much for this guide. I bounced off off so many Monster Hunter games in the past. Thanks to you I finally understood - and I’m hooked now :)
Thank you thank you thank you. I’ve bounced off this game 4 times now because I just get lost in the tutorials or walls of text. Sometimes I just got turned around or didn’t know where to practice. This is exactly what I was looking for. None of my gaming friends play this, so I needed a virtual buddy. You’re doing good work here, my man.
I bought Rise (my first MH) after hearing you on the 8-4 podcast recently and then realizing that you published this video-this is exactly what I needed to introduce me to the series. Thank you!
Days later I still haven’t gotten over how thankful I am for this video! I which I could give multiple likes to you. I hope me watching the video over a span of a week counts as multiple views
This guide was very useful! I’m a beginner having bought the MH game 1 year ago and only touched it once because it seem too overwhelming. But after watching your video I can finally start playing the game 1 year later! Lol Thanks!
Even as someone who is a veteran of the franchise I'm SUPER excited for this video. Excited to hear your thoughts and tips etc. No matter how much you know, there's usually something you missed or something else you could learn. Thanks for the labor I'm sure went into this video.
Holy cow, Gaijin, I can't believe you are still here creating content on Monster Hunter. I was your fan since 2013 when you were posting MH3 Ultimate videos, I learned most of game content in your tutorials. Oh my, back in the day I was just a high schooler and now I am in graduate school. Time flies
Just started playing and guides like this helped me cut my pondering time in-game and lets me get straight into action! I love how every hunts feel flawless now.
Ik I’m late to the party lol but this is my first monster hunter and during my first hunt with a buddy we both were ready to just put the game down. Not knowing if it was a skill issue or a game issue. I’m glad to say after watching just half of this video it was most definitely a skill issue and the in game tutorial legitimately just made it worse. Dumped so much on me that I got to a point I just skipped it so I could learn at my own pace🤣 amazing video, so glad you didn’t cut around!
WOW & Thank You! Am just starting over! Am only HALF way thru your video and HELPED me understand this game SO MUCH now i can start gathering and playing. FTW ^5
Thank you so much! I haven’t played enough MH to be familiar with the controls. This video was so helpful to me. I just bought MH Rise over the weekend and was struggling to figure out everything. The tutorial windows are not helpful at all. You broke down the movement mechanics and explained every detail I should know as a beginner really well. I’ve saved this to refer to as I play. Lol
Listened to you on the 8-4 Play podcast about wanting to put out a video like this and I am so glad you did do it. This is a great video for new players to get into the series and help them out.
Thanks so much for this. I just bought the game last week and almost just quit playing it because the text dump "tutorials" didn't really help very much. But after watching this, I can actually play my game now. I had no idea this game was so complex, definitely happy to join the monster hunter fan club. 😄 thanks again for the video, it was so detailed and easily explained. 5 stars bro.
I got this game for my birthday a few days ago. I've played the demo, but yeah, it was really overwhelming. And I didn't want to invest so much time into a demo. But now I have the full game, I finally can and this guide is just perfect! Thanks so much!
I needed none of this info but I was waiting for this video with full excitement. I cannot wait to share this and get some friends into this amazing game and series~
Amazing video thank you so much for it. I played a little MH on my Wii U but never got far into the game. Just picked up Rise yesterday and am now starting with your video as a much-needed introduction and guide. Couldn‘t ask for a better way to start my hunting journey.
I started the demo a year ago, but it didn’t really click. I decided to give the full game a try again a couple of weeks ago after finishing tears of the kingdom and now I’m over 100 hours in. Working through high rank. farming a Hammer, switch axe, hunting horn, and elemental dual blade set before getting into Sunbreak. It’s so fun…
This is my first MH game and I didnt like the controls and movement of the characters and was bummed i wasted my money. Your guide has really helped and Im giving it another shot. Thank you
Maybe late to the party, but you're awesome! I've listen to the video all the way to the end and only skip after the switch axe at the end. Thanks buddy really impressive work you've done there with gathering so much info in one video. Have success! Regards!
Hello Gaijin! Thank you so much, I actually just started playing Monster Hunter yesterday on my Switch and It baffles me how thousands of tutorial screen can't accomplish what you teach in this vid. I learned a lot from this one! Oh also I'm using a Bow so if anyone else have newcomer tips for me drop it in guys I'm all ears
Love how most of the comments are from hunters having 100s of hours of gameplay but still watching it. I have about 80 hours in Rise, but still watching and liking it too. Was able to talk a friend into MHR and though we've been chatting and I've been trying to give him tips, we don't get to play together much due to scheduling, so I'm glad Gaijin can help ease him into the game when i can't. Thanks for the time and effort Gaijin.

Thank you!
Nice Channel! Subbed. Best Tutorial out there for the game, thank you for being so precise.
“This is only for beginners-“
Me: Fool! I’ll still watch it because I want to make sure there is nothing I miss!
I liked, I added to my favorites, I subscribed, and now I'm commenting. This one video has helped me so much as a brand new player. Amazing work!
Lol
Thanks!
Even as someone who is a veteran of the franchise I'm SUPER excited for this video. Excited to hear your thoughts and tips etc. No matter how much you know, there's usually something you missed or something else you could learn. Thanks for the labor I'm sure went into this video.
Love watching your videos! Thank you for always having such clear and fun videos. Always appreciate you taking the time to explain all of such stuff
Time flies
I just started playing MHR and this is my first monster hunter game as well! Your guide is really really helpful! Thank youuu!!!
Just started playing and guides like this helped me cut my pondering time in-game and lets me get straight into action! I love how every hunts feel flawless now.
Dude... I freakin love you man... I can’t believe how useful this is

Does what it says on the tin.
I'll watch anything you decide to put out, I'm 200hrs into rise and still loving it, keep it up man. Can't wait for the future updates!
Holy shit a 3 hour drop from gaijin??? this is gonna be a good night
Thinking of getting it, only played up to MH Tri. Been very long time since I lugged around a weapon… thanks for sharing your knowledge of the game 😊
Me who has 197 hours: Hm, yes. I will watch this.
I'm a Monster Hunter super fan and I think this is a wonderful idea for a video! Keep putting out awesome content Gaijin Hunter!
Love your vids. Always so helpful! I've played this series since the start, but there's always more to learn as it evolves.
This is my first MH game and I didnt like the controls and movement of the characters and was bummed i wasted my money. Your guide has really helped and Im giving it another shot. Thank you
Owning a new monster hunter always excites me cause I always come back for your content it’s been that way for some many years
Maybe late to the party, but you're awesome! I've listen to the video all the way to the end and only skip after the switch axe at the end. Thanks buddy really impressive work you've done there with gathering so much info in one video. Have success! Regards!
Thank you so much, this is the most helpful guide I've seen so far. Congratulation.
Just started the game and played 23 hours first run. Thanks for the quick video guide love it
Hello Gaijin!
