  • Just wanted to post a very ROUGH video about how with the help of the Lord, I was able to get a fully discharged bike battery to begin charging, initially the charger light stayed green and it would never charge.
There is no need to remove the battery pack shell as I did!
    hopefully this helps someone.
Follow these instructions at your own risk! Batteries are dangerous, they can explode or catch fire!
I got the pack of alligator clips from HarborFreight tools, and the small automotive bulbs came from the auto parts store. They are standard marker lights for older style vehicles. DON'T use LED bulbs, they do not pull the same amount of current.

My battery was decharged to the point of causing it to malfunction, but i dont have the equipment or skills to confidently attempt wiring and taking things apart and etc. Do you have any tips on how to fix this when im not an electrician?

Don't touch any clip tips or the nail while connecting them and don't let and of the points of connection touch eachother especially after power starts going through

There's a short in the wiring somewhere between the throttle and the harness inside the battery cover. You're going to have to find the short, and splice it. You can use an ohms meter to troubleshoot which wire is damaged if it's not easily visible

Would a slightly lower voltage charger do the job?

It doesn't have anything to do with the voltage. It has to do with amp draw, a charger only has a small flow of current and hooking it directly to battery would overload it. Using the lightbulbs controls how much amp draw the battery can pull from the charger

@doatsouth3224 what about using another battery, wired to the charger port? Would it work so I don't gotta take it all apart?

Boosted the battery. Now has 2 bars on the bike but still does not want to charge though the charging port. Charger tested fine. What can be the problem?

      Does battery still work ?

Remove battery from case , plug charger into battery, unplug the batteries BMS then plug in again, this resets your batteries management system BMS

Battery still has 35v and does charge thru the power connector. Just not thru the charger port. Any tips on how to remove the outside case from the battery.

@@brianraabe308 Charger port has a FUSE ,you probably have a blown 10amp fuse

@brianraabe308 Obviously I need to know what TYPE BATTERY you have 😊

Dumb question, could we use something else for the regulation, like a resistor?

    • @doatsouth3224

That's what a lightbulb is in reality...
So if you could figure out which resistor to use yes I'm sure it would work

Once I got it to charge it was fine, worked normally. I think it got left somewhere discharged for a while lol
