Thank you, thank you, thank! I didn't know about this service bulletin which happens to cover my Countryman, extending the warranty to 10 years.

Thank you so much for this video. It's so refreshing to find a mechanic who doesn't hate on Minis and in general one who is so calm and at the same time methodical in doing the work. An added bonus of finding this video was a commenter posted info about a service bulletin extending the warranty on the thermostat housing for some models which happened to cover my new to me Countryman. I haven't had to have the thermostat housing replaced, at least not yet, but if I do in the next couple of years it will be covered under warranty and I wouldn't have known about if I hadn't found your channel and video so many thanks!!!

I appreciate that! Even though they have their issues I do really enjoy driving them and for the most part most of the failures aren’t too bad to repair. I appreciate you watching

What kind of 2015 mini is this, because my engine bay does NOT look like yours. I have a 2015 F56 2-Door Hardtop 1.5 3cyl. Is yours a 2015 Clubman or Countryman, or is it a 2015 4 Door?

This is just the base model from early 2015 over here, it’s a 1.6l na 4 cyl

Does anyone but me think that changing a thermostat, which is consider a consumable, on a Mini is a bullshit engineering nightmare. Why would any engine manufacturer make a thermostat so difficult to get to, that you need to remove haft the surrounding engine components, just to find it, let alone replace it. Before being an engineer, you must have hands on experience fixing what ever you want to engineer. Thanks for the video. Without it I never would have been able to even recognize, let alone replace the thermostat. Side note: I can change the thermostat in my Chevy in about 5 minutes without draining or removing engine components.

I 100% agree with you but my feeling about it are slightly numbed by seeing so many other modern cars that are way more difficult to change, it’s all too much in my opinion
