MERCEDES GLA250 COOLANT LEAK UNDER INTAKE MANIFOLD
Does $1000 for labor and $400 for parts for this particular repair seem reasonable? I’ve already invested 3300 for a new cat from a shop.
That’s more labor than I would have charged for that job
hello, is there a manual way to actually check if the pump is leaking. Can you reconnect wires and tubes while out of its position , start the engine and see if it is leaking ? or does it need the cam follower so the piston to move ? I am completely clueless, sorry if the question is clownish.
is it ever a loud humming noise that starts about 45-50 mph? it also gets momentarily louder when taking the foot off the accelerator, under engine braking until it goes away about 40mph
What a great video. Thank you
I’ve got a lot of steering wheel vibration in my Audi s4 I hit multiple pot holes … 🕳️ … already did control arms that didn’t fix it already replaced all rims and wheels … don’t know what to do next tie rods ? Then coilovers. ?
When does the steering wheel vibration occur?
@ every little small bump and I’m talking super small bumps on the road very small at any speed 5 mph too 75 mph
@ it literally acts like a Nintendo 64 controller it vibrates my steering wheel every small bump on the road and if I slightly turn it too..
my 2011 335i is having a buzzing noise from that area but it's not that solenoid. I put my hand on the intake tube I can feel it. It's only start doing for a few days now. 142k miles.
Does that cause a problems in long trip 20hrs or more
It’s not great for the health of the engine, I would consider fixing it first if it’s a option
This isn't 2.0fsi problems this is poor owner/maintenance problems 💯
I changed my timing chain and noticed my harmonic balancer pulley is wobbly I replaced it with a new harmonic balancer pulley thinking it was damaged but the new one is also wobbly. Any suggestions? I torqued everything by factory specs
I hate to say it but it’s likely that a piece of debris fell behind the crankshaft sprocket while the chain was being replaced.
@EuropeanAutoRepair Damn... Thanks for the info I'm going to remove everything again and check
Do you have torque numbers for thermostat and the oil housing filter itself? Thank you!
I’m sorry I’m not sure off hand
Hallo, do you maybe have the serial number of that cable so that a new one can be ordered?
This video was exactly what i needed. Thanks!
Maybe just throw some Kseal or Bars in there
so if it's stuck open then you replace the bank ? and the pump ok ? how do we know for sure though? that the pump is bad cause you said the pump only runs a little bit at the beginning then it stops yeah>?
hermano un saludo de lima - Perú, gracias por tu video, me sirvió para detectar esta fuga,
We are Germanstiens. We will engineer it in the way where each part can potentially fail. Yes, we will design it that way with as many points of failure as possible. Yes, we will make so much money repairing it. Perfect. Sell it now.
❤
Agree with other comments, coffee is probably the most important to get this job done lol
No coffee no workee
"Just throw it somewhere." 😂😂 I know that switch assembly ain't cheap either lol. The plastic trim around the switch on my Mk7 was already boogered up with pry marks when i bought it. Need to replace that, and also my lock switch is backwards.
Haha scars from past repairs gone wrong lol
I replaced all chains, guides, and both tensionors on mine 5 years ago. Just now replaced the vvt solenoid again. The dorman part came apart. I had to fish the spring from the vvt out of the hollow cam.
All chains stretch. The problem is that they did not design chain length, number of teeth on gears and the amount of slack for adjustment the adjuster can take up.
Folks, it's not just that you need new tires. You need a 4-wheel alignment as well. It's a misaligned suspension and steering components that cause excessive and eccentric wear on your tires that results in this noise. This will immediately start happening to your new tires if you ignore an alignment.
Coffee and a right hand, we all understand, plus the fact that it cost a LOT of cash to keep a second set of tools at home. Good video, thanks for sharing all the little details, i have a 2013 Bug and have to lubricate the window regulator, it is starting to squeak. I’m retired so my tools are home.
Thanks man. Yeah I’m almost afraid if my home tools are too complete I won’t have an excuse to not fix every buds car at home lol
You have everything plus coffee👏
Read owners manual it says engine oil 5w 30 or 40 for a tsi vw not the 0w 20 or 30 the Steller ships recommend
Have you seen frequent oil changes helping? Currently at 78k on my 18 Q5 but have been doing 5k oil changes. Not sure what OBDEleven adaptation value to monitor but so far none of them seem to be drifting much.
Nice colour. Different from the lapiz blue that most are in Europe. We've got a my2016 estate. You've helped me with a few repairs, thermostat, ancillary bracket / oil cooler gaskets. Mines on nearly 90k miles but not without maintenance. My cam cover sealant also defo leaking now. Look forward to vids
Nice to hear, yeah they definitely have a few common failures but from a drivers standpoint feel pretty excellent. If you think of any video ideas let me know, thanks
Pretty cool and they are coming down on price, and it looks like it's lowered not a fan of that on this one though. 😅
I thought it was lowered too. Completely stock suspension when I ran the part numbers. I guess the R variant just sits real low
Any difference in a 2009 Audi A5 with the 3.2 liter?
Nice addition to the family. Any reservations about buying a built car?
Hah all things being equal I would have preferred finding a bone stock car and either keeping it stock or choosing the modifications myself but this one seemed to have pretty nice stuff install and looks like it was put on properly, was a good price too lol
BIG TURBO!
You stop that!! lol I’ll give you a good deal on a used is38
Any opinion on the difference between 06K109210AJ and 06K109210AF? The AF version costs nearly double and the AJ version is newer. Some retailers and manufacturers list both as fitting the same cars and engines. Rein makes both and sells them for different prices. Elring sells a cheap AJ one and says it fits AF as well. Did Audi update the design to go with the blocks with the groove built in? Is the newer one better and the older one more expensive just because inventory is running out?
hey, so how do you reinstall the injectors ? can’t seem to find a video on it. also wondering torque specs/patterns?
What does the groove do? I would seal around the outside of the groove so any overflow squeezes into the groove instead of into the engine. If you put sealant in the groove, it's hard to get the perfect amount. Too little and you have voids. Too much and a lot squeezes out.
I changed my mind. After spending hours gathering opinions and thinking about it, I realize that it's a steel cover on an aluminum engine so you need some thickness of RTV to allow for flex. Filling the groove and having a little extra sealant is good. Don't overtighten the screws and squeeze it all out. Give it time to cure too, so any overflow on the inside doesn't get in the oil. It's different when you seal two machined aluminum surfaces together, where there's almost no gap and barely any expansion variation.
I was hoping this was going to fix my issue but it didn't. Based on my OBD, any ideas on what else I can try for "audi a3 fresh air blower, front, no signal B10BE31". Fuse is fine, is there another control module somewhere?
AWESOME INFORMATION. THANK YOU !!!!!
Thank you so much. This really helped me in emergency and saved me a bunch of money for towing.
Great video. The right length, and you spent more time explaining the important stuff instead of every mundane step.
I appreciate it, yeah I’m trying to not wait anybody’s time more than I need too
I hear a squeaking sound from over there. I put the WD40 in the bushings and it disappeared for a moment. Until noise came back. It's like squeaking rubber sound not metal.
I was trying to do oil change myself for my A8 L Quattro, I didn’t have the right tool to open the drain plug, I used my drill, then instead of opening it to drain I tightened, it caused leaking! What’s ur advice? Just changing the crush washer or if still doesn’t stop, do I need to change the whole lower oil pan? Also where to find the right tool to open this annoying drain plug? Please advise
Great tutorial. I’ve read that changing these bulbs is dangerous due to high voltage? Is that true? It wasn’t mentioned in the video.
Is that bushing a safe support point for a jackstand? This is completely unrelated but I would appreciate any answer. Thanks for the great video!
Mine is broken I lock it too tight
This sounds like mine quite a bit! My links are adjustable, would having them too long make this sound, seems like it would be the same as if the link snapped or the ends were overtraveling?
i get a noise from the left side of my van, it sounds like dog getting run over over or his balls getting squished what could that be?
Probably a front sway bar bushing I’m thinking
My noise coming just slow but no when turning… hmm 3 mechanics no clue 🫣
year later working on an MK5 rabbit… great video !
Happy it was helpful!
Can you do an explanation video on how to replace dipstick tube on a 2014 vw Jetta 2.0? I saw your video on common oil leaks on one and my problem is I somehow have a half inch long hole at the top of my dipstick tube near wear the dipstick goes in and it’s sucking air. I’ve had the car a month from the dealer It looks like a screw or something went in sideways on it.
Do you have a full video pulling off the intake, etc? Do you recommend any of the aftermarket aluminum alloy replacements vs the plastic crap?
I don’t think I’ve made a video like that yet
I need this added to mine
