Doesn’t matter what’s on the trailer, all that matters is it pays.
I just hopped into the car moving business myself. Left my big fancy Peterbilt hauling cattle and started hot shotting and immediately jumped into cars. I have a 4 car trailer. Can get around .90 to 1.75 PER CAR. That’s potentially $4 a mile. Not a bad gig, easy money man!
In a dynamic transportation market, It pays to be fluid. The more frugal you are, the more profit realized. It's a smart move to adjust to what makes you happy and still pays the bills. Being at home is HUGE! It's awesome that you've got the opportunity to do that. I will always enjoy your content for what it is. You're another HS driver that has ways and reasons for doing what you do and the learning for folks out on the road continues.......your one of the folks I watch on "the tube" that I make it to the end of every vlog . Be Blessed!!
Being able to get home more often is a definite plus. Good luck with your new path.
Excellent!!! Exactly what I wanted to watch!! Good luck man! Looking forward to watch this new documented endeavor!! 👍
Load Mizer, don't quit making the videos! I'm subscribed to a few other hotshot channels and in my opinion, mizer content is the best. More hands on and practical. I just purchased a 50' Kaufman wedge with dual 10k axles. Had to wait 10 weeks though:(. It's a well designed and well built trailer. I'd recommend putting on the aluminum oil bath hub caps and carrying around a L and a R brake assy and bearings/races just in case because the larger Dexter brake parts on the larger Dexter axles could be hard to find when your broken down. Weighs just over 5,400 pounds! Keep up the hard work and the optimistic attitude!
That’s what the factory quoted me too. 10 weeks. That’s good info on the replacement parts and thank you for posting the weight. That’s actually lighter than I expected 👍👍
Wow nice to know. I was looking into getting a heavier duty one, wasnt sure whats the best next up. I bought an ultra lite 3car, but just got my cdl so tune to upgrade everything.
Make that money brotha. I'm still saving up for truck and trailer. Keep uploading them videos. 👍🏽💪
Another great and informative video . I might be reconsidering car hauling. Again I really enjoy the videos man . Keep it between the ditches!!
I’m looking at starting up in car hauling. Just found your channel. Good info and interesting to watch it go from the ground up. Thanks!
Good timing. I just uploaded an equipment video for starting out 👍
I think you will make it work and it will be profitable. Got faith in you.
for almost the exact same reasons I was considering doing for almost the exact same reasons I was considering doing cars as well. I was open to buying a three-car wedge if I couldn't find my new 22 GN. I figured with the ramps on the Big Tex I could experiment with cars and make sure the money was there before fully committing on a wedge
Got a good spirit in ya man. Keep going. You'll be good at it.
Keep posting! Car guys/gals wanna see what you're hauling🚗🚙
I would be happy with a load mizer hat for a give away, no one should ever turn down a good hat
My Friend
Congratulations for your New project, Drive safely thats de key.

Hay bro yes you should post putting cars and trucks on and off every day you will run into something new that can teach everyone and anyone it also keeps you relevant and out there. I watch another guy that's in my state of Pa and it's always something different but I enjoy watching seeing you guys getting it and making money and being successful. I was injured in April in my trade and I might have to switch and do something different and I'm leaning towards hotshot and I've learned so much from all you have posted bro keep it up I don't know you personally but I'm proud of you brother.
Thank you man 👍
hey mizer friend of mine does freight, cars, containers, equipment ect , what ever is around where he is an it pays, he does c.o.d,p.o.p (payonpickup), direct dep, wired, if he dont get paid it dont get unloaded, if something slows down he has alot of other choices to pick from he has a 53ft low profile alum trailer airride with 16ft alum hd ramps wl is 35,000 ea, think he said they was for the military an their not that heavy either good luck with the cars he's doing great at them its just another load on the trailer if ur in a area thats slow
@loadmizer i stand be hind ya nobody can sit here and tell you whats wright and whats wrong just because it works for you doesnt mean it will work for them being an owner opp is full of unknown and uncertainties as long as it makes sence and sounds right its worth a shot take care be safe keep on keepin on 👍
Thanks man, I’ll bring to you guys. Good and bad, exciting or boring lol
Good luck and enjoy that home time 🤗
Never stop filming brother, You are our mentor.
It’s hard some days man. Thank you for this! 👍
Don’t forget about the POV Market. Privately owned vehicles. Companies like DAS , AAAdvantage will also pay to deliver and pick cars for them. You might also be in a snowbird route which can be lucrative as well. Central dispatch is a good site for car loads.
Glad to see you’re considering a wedge trailer cause it would suck to see someone taking cars away from someone that has a dedicated car hauler trailer.
Super dispatch will be your best friend with cars. and be careful when people call you saying can you pick my car up and take it somewhere, you end up on the side of mountains and almost have to call a crane to get your truck out of there, or he has to go through the neighbors yard to get to the car and they won't allow you to do it so then you have to call a wrecker to come out and move the car. But if you're staying auctions repo lots dealers. Full send my friend. Three car more, I made decent money with a two car, but man I wish I had a four. You know Americans and our greed. Good luck bro
wedge would be very versatile in thr markett. would open you up for vehicles and some trailers too(utility and even smaller rvs) lookin forward to what comes next on your channel!
I’m all for it man!
Great job brother, Band of Brothers and Sisters
When it’s all said and done, it’s all about spending more time at home with the family. I remember seeing a video a few weeks ago of somebody trying to sell a 3 car wedge. I can’t remember the name of his channel at the moment but I’ll try to dig thru to see if I can find it. Stay safe. GOD bless.
That’s the goal man absolutely! That’d be great if I can snag one up soon. I’d like to be able to measure the potential soon!
Load Mizer (Life is Good) is his channel name. It was a 2019 Kaufman but it says sold on his intro to that particular video. So unless something is off with that, it appears to be sold. You can check it out for yourself tho just to make sure. Later.
You are learning young grasshopper!! They cost less but if you load 2 then your looking at $2. I do some local runs for $5 a mile paying $550 for 100 miles. Always good even to get you out of a bind and dead zone. I’ve been doing it while i have been aging my MC. It is easy too, has some issues sometimes but quick and pays usually COD! I went out and got a wedge as i’m waiting to get my 40’ on the road
Do you haul cars ? From where to where ?
Film it all, I'm here to learn!
I usually tuck mirrors in 2 ensure damage 2 mirrors
Cars are a viable option, especially in your area. I think I would keep the flatbed though, I have several trailers so I can haul whatever is running at the time.
I wish you all the best bro....
I don't care what your doing, film it..I'll watch. (LM)
Nice video, appreciate the info👍
The way these people tell you to keep on making Videos... It's a Beautiful Thing to see All that Love & Support! Isn't Weight an Issue ? Especially when you atart getting up to the 3 or 4 Cars?
Yeah man it was actually really nice to see all the support. That was unexpected lol. Weight really depends on the setup. CDL is definitely the way to go to be the most versatile but most car loads aren’t all that bad. Especially if they weigh between 3 and 4k. Trucks start getting heavy above 1/2 ton.
👍🏽👍🏽 great information thank you
I watch a lot of HotShot Adventures and she does a great job of freight and autos.
Good videos!! I personally didn’t like 3 car wedge,
The low profile one is more safe and you can load highroof vans on it, but you got to have a chassis cab..
That’ll be my next move. I’ve never loaded the front flippers on this trailer and won’t until I get a 5th wheel. The low pros are great because you don’t need a step ladder to strap the front vehicle 😂
LoadMizer Hotshots cars now?! Subbed!
Crazy man respect
I been in business for 4 months and made 12k last month . It has its ups and downs but if your really motivated and have experienced hauling a trailer , I think you’ll be just find …I’m still learning my trailer ….little nervous at times but comes with the package…….
There is a used Kaufman dual tandem 3 car wedge for sale on US 20 just east of Goshen Indiana. Honestly it's been sitting there for months for sale and has not sold, I don't know the exact address but when you leave Goshen and head east it is on the right side of the road in someone's front yard. I'll be back up there next week and if I can I will get more details.
Good deal man thank you 👍
I was in the same exact boat. I have a 40 flat and a 56 wedge. Ik considering selling the wedge tho. It was fun because it was a change for me and was exciting but now that I’ve done both I think I’m sticking woth what I love which is freight and equipment. I’m in NC if you’re interested in buying.
56 would put me over length. I can take the bed off of the rentals
Load Mizer it’s a regular Kaufman wedge woth flip outs that are removable.
BUSTED KNUCKLE LOGISTICS I think those are 53’ right? If so that would work, it’d be at the limit but it would work.

We are wanting to do the same thing.
Nicely done Buddy, I'm semi retired and spent to much of my life chasing that all elusive dollar, the more I made the more I spent, commercially fished back when I was young thousands per day.you know the old saying, "work your fingers to the bone, what do you get, boney fingers!" Debtfree, low overhead, personal freedoms.....success
Absolutely right man. It’s about time to start using my brain instead of my hands to make it happen 👍
Yep, I'm debt free and could survive well working at McDonald's.
Good luck on the cars, and i would keep the trailer for back up.
Corky Hoffstetter thanks man and I’ve definitely been considering that.
I would keep the trailer just to keep your option open. Good Luck bud enjoy your vids
Cars are the way to go
Good timing my friend. I've been looking into this car hauling deal as well. Not sure if I'm in a good spot in Texas or not. Got to dig some more. Look into Kaufman trailers or a take 3 trailers.
It does not matter where you at you will still get car's
@@black007die that's true, just want to make sure it's enough cars to haul to live on.
We haul cars out of Nashville one truck and trailer and 2 tow trucks
Talk with Jason Kendal/Hotshot Haulers. He does Freight and cars. Cars become a PIA when they are Non op. So carry a jump box with you....
Nice to see some one who showing th beginning of getting into cars.are you going to do just cars for th week to see how th money and how much home time you can get? Im seeing more flatbed big trks adding cars to there trailer.good luck and be safe
Somewhat, for now I’m doing a lot of watching and a lot of note taking. I’m finding lanes that are the most profitable and at the same time introducing myself to as many dealerships as I can in my home area. I’m also purposely booking auction loads to familiarize myself with those near me. 👍
cars are great backhaul, good thing is most pay cash.
Something also to remember is your overall length. With any 3 car wedge, you might exceed the 65' rule with the bed on the Enterprise truck. Most pros get those beds off and outfit as a tractor. With the hotshot goose trailer you are always under so no factor. TN gets guys everyday ending with Y for this very violation.
With the position of the rails I could possibly go 53’. It’s hard to tell without it connected though.
TN 🤮👎🏻
Get that bread bro💪🏽
Cool man, family first
Will let us know how it’s doing money wise.
Patients to Persevere!!!!!
Check out auto hauler supplies online show u different styles of tire straps n accessories
Great content! Appreciate your time. 2 questions. Do you need your own authority to haul cars or are there companies to lease onto when I first get in the game? Also would you consider the work load to be difficult? I'm 51 and in pretty decent health physically. Is there anything that might be difficult physically for us older guys?
There are some companies that will lease you in but it will most likely be smaller companies with a handful of drivers. You’ll have to look extremely hard to find anyone. As far as the work goes it’s not too physically demanding at all. Just have to be cautious at all times dealing with heights combined with bad weather and low light at times. Being sure footed is the most important aspect in this.
Nice video bro! I’m looking for someone to lease on with. I have a 2020 gmc 3500 dually no Trailer. Do you or someone you know where I can lease on with? I have prior 3 car experience
where to get leased on or where to get insurance with little to no experience?
What’s the pay like on this 2 car haul ?? Thanks!!
I have a 2017 Kaufman 3 or 4 car wedge. Tandem axles. Flip outs front and back. Heavy duty mesh. 102” wide. Gooseneck or fifth wheel. Asking 13k. I live in California.
still have it
@@markgothberg2610 Nope, sold that piece of shit. Now I have a 53' kaufman Lo Pro. Much better trailer!
So, how goes the car hauling. Leaning towards that myself.
There a trailer in jackson tn I don't know how far that is from u and I think it's a 4 car
What would be the average pay per mile?
I'm looking for a hauler to pick up atvs and side by sides. Can you give me some advice? Buy in KY and WV and need hauled to NC. Do you do this? What site do I use to find a driver? Thanks! Would love to talk to you on the phone.
Been doing car hauling with a one ton for 15+ years, I’ve owned most major 2-3-4 car haulers, and can give you some insight on different brands if you’re interested .
I will say (in my opinion and I bought new ones every until lately) the Kaufman wedges have gotten weaker in the last few years and flex way too much.
So do your research.
Definitely stay away from light mesh runners. Heavy mesh and perforated floors are best.
Automobile Archeaology I’ve heard that on the wedges. I’m currently looking into a Kaufman with front and rear flippers. I doubt I’ll ever use them but when I talked to Kaufman I asked if the flippers could be upfitted on a normal 3 car and the answer was no due to the fact that they use a completely different frame with more reinforcement front and rear because of the flippers. So even though I’ll probably rarely use them, I wanted the flippers just because of the frame 👍. Hopefully it’ll be worth it.
Load Mizer well, if you get a Kaufman, make sure you get the dual tandems and the 102 wide not the 90 inch wide. Not a flip out fan
What do you think about the 2 car yexas pride ???
TEXAS PRIDE that is.......
Hey man was trying to learn to tarp and strap ive never done flatbed
I’ve got a few videos about securement but haven’t really had time to put together what i planned. ruclips.net/p/PLIv29A-ud0KiOrJ7sHCnaCSYN02XeYADq that’s a basic guide to strapping and I have a few videos where I tarp a few loads.
@@LoadMizer appreciate you getting back to me will definitely check them out. Thanks.
As one door closes one door opens!
I got so many doors open i don’t even know which ones I’m supposed to close 🤣
Load Mizer none of them get closed, don’t want locked out in case you need in that room again
How would you recommend getting the training for car hauling/Transport? I see it a lot in my area Dallas DFW , but somewhat reluctant with dealing with it ,because I’ve only transported DryVan or Refer T/T . Any suggestions? Oh and As always Thx For sharing
General flatbed freight will teach you all types of securement but cars are pretty simple. Typically just tire straps or axle straps. I’m not sure if there is any dedicated training to it other than pulling for a car carrier company.
Load Mizer cool thank you !! Be safe out there.
Is that a 30 or 40 ft trailer?
Do you hotshot more than semi ?
Man.... ive been watchin your videos and i literally ordered my 35ft with mega ramps today and have been thinking about car haulin. Im out of houston and right now the rates SUCK. I was thinking about switching to this, but im non cdl right now. Is it still possible?
You can haul some trucks and SUVs on the trailer with mega ramps. You’ll be able to taste a little of both industries and see what works out best for you. I honestly regret buying a flatbed now without a dovetail and ramps. Missed some good paying machinery loads because of it.
What is the insurance difference with freight flatbed trailer vs Wedge?
The difference between the trailers isn’t much at all. It’s based on value. The PJ is actually more than the wedge right now lol. Switching to “auto transport” is where the big difference is. It’s gonna bump my premium up about 3200 a year.
Take 3 trailers have wedge trailers
I wouldn't suggest a wedge. Imo but its honestly up to you.
I’d like to know why if you don’t mind.
@@LoadMizer well for starters they can be very dangerous if not loaded correctly ask yourself do you only want a wedge because you wanna keep your bed? If so they make other trailers. N if you have no issue losing the bed then there's alot of other routes to go. If your going to do it do it right. I went from 1 to 2 to 3 to 5 an now I'm going to a 7 n I wish I would of started with the 3
608 Trucker not necessarily because I want to keep it but because I have to since I’m with enterprise. I do like the idea of a low pro wedge much better but I think it’s a good place to start to develop a local/regional lane. Once the mileage has significantly dropped per week I think it would be a good idea to buy a truck and up the trailer capacity. Until then though I need to establish a lane to keep the miles down. 👍
@@LoadMizer well enterprise does offer trucks with no beds on them js but I hear. Ya.
@LoadMizer would a tractor be good to hotshot with a 3-5 car hauler
5 and up yes
Still unsure why haulers continue to strap outside of rub rail?
I’m unsure why trailer manufacturers continue to make trailers without securement points under the edge of the deck lol.
I have 2016 4 car hauler for sale only been used for 6 months.
I ended up buying one back in October. But someone may see this. 👍
Is there a problem booking car hauls with a brand new authority from the Central Dispatch loadboard? Thanks in advance for your help.
There were only a few on there that require a specific positive rating or time on central dispatch. The rest were no problem at all being new.
@@LoadMizer thanks for the reply and good Intel. Much appreciated.
Are there car hauling companies that lease on owner op? I live in Houston
That I’m not sure of. I don’t know many car haulers that are exclusive that have more than 1 truck. I’m still new to the hotshot game.
What’s is the best 5th wheel for a Ram 3500 2020 ?
Freddie f I honestly don’t have any experience with a fifth wheel setup on a hotshot. Only semi.
If u dont mind me asking how u price the vehicles u haul by the mile or is it all different from each vehicle an where there goin
They all differ based on everything you listed already more. Time is a big one. Residential and auctions are 2 big time eaters. I may make a video on this. There are a ton of factors.
@@LoadMizer sweet man that be a good vid ill sub
Haulin cars...do you go through brokers or through the auctions to get the work?
It’s a mix of brokers and buyers.
Would SouthEast MO be a good area for car hauling
It’s not bad, especially if you run inops 👍
Do you have a class a and if you dont how do you stay under the 2600 pound weight with truck, trailer, and two cars loaded on it. It seems impossible to be non cdl
I’m cdl. Usually run loaded between 28-32k
@@LoadMizer ok . Thanks for responding
How to chase customers. ? WHO TO LOOK FOR??
Hope you told your insurance that you are hauling cars, since the insurance is different. Freight is household goods and cars is considered Hazard material
Cars aren’t hazmat. Freight also isn’t household goods either.
Hot shot Dave will talk , and talk , and , talk you thru it . 😉😉😉😂
Dave Sisco haha yea he will 👍
Would you recommend a fifth wheel or gooseneck for this type of business?
Definitely 5th wheel
@@LoadMizer thanks for the response bud may God keep blessing you 💯🙌
Is insurance for the new Authority not super expensive with car hauling though?
Depends on the state you’re in. My rate to add autos as part of freight increased my premium 500 a year but if I were to switch as an exclusive auto transport it would raise it by 3,250 per year.
@@LoadMizer yeah I got quoted 2605 myself for carhauling wasnt to bad for general freight at 1555 who did you end up going with?
Ron progressive
Man..... Please please pleaseeeeeee..... Get a single pivot 5th wheel before you even get a wedge. Im sure you have the skill to run a wedge with a gooseneck but shit happens. Other drivers are a-holes and you cant control what they do. And you end up on the wrong end of the deal.
Its well worth the investment.
I have a 3 car wedge not being used at the moment. Ill rent it out for rather cheap. But 5th wheel only.
Im 7 minutes from manheim detroit if you make it up this way.
5th wheel is on order. Literally just a 4 pin swap with this rail system 👍👍. Get ahold of me on Instagram
I think you will find cars much easier then freight.
What
Did it add much to your insurance premium to add cars?
To add cars to freight it was 500 per year increase.
They told me extra 400 a month for cars..
HEY ALL YOU FREIGHT GUYS....LEAVE MY CARS ALONE🤔👀
🤣🤫
Word! Freight pays better. *scoff* 😆
That’s what I’m sayin’
Just make sure your insurance will cover auto
Already got it on lol
I think you don't fully understand who your audience is. We absolutely want to see boring car loads. I just got my CLP and it really helps new guys understand whats normal, what's not, driver etiquette while loading/unloading, and everything else.
That’s awesome to hear man! Thank you! 👍👍
My sentiments exactly!
YOU WILL FIND OUT THAT CARS DONT PAY SHIT, ITS A GOOD FILLER HERE AND THERE. STAY FLEXIBLE WITH FLAT DECK. COMMITTING TO CARS WILL AGE YOU....
I’m keeping the flat for the time being, I know they pay better in volume though. That’s why I need that 3rd option.
(WORD)..HOME 🏡
R u selling ur trailer?
I think I’m going to hang onto it for now as a backup trailer/plan haha
Load Mizer that is the smart thing to do. You might just consider getting good losing ramps, honestly 2 heavier vehicles going to pay more then any 3 cars. Also, 10’ aluminum ramps cost $870 and you start hauling cars tomorrow with trailer you have!
