Which High Fructose Foods Cause GI Problems?

  • Are you having a lot of diarrhea, gas, and bloating? Are you having these even when you are eating whole healthy foods? I might have the answer to your problems!
    In this video, I discuss why fructose might be causing diarrhea, gas and bloating! First, lets talk about how your GI tract breaks down complex sugars into simple sugars and how they are absorbed. Then I talk about what happens when your body cannot absorb excess amount of fructose and why that leads to the problems of diarrhea, gas, and bloating.
    Afterwards, I explain why certain healthy and unhealthy foods which contain an excess of fructose can cause your GI problems. Specifically I talk about how high fructose corn syrup, honey, agave syrup, certain fruits and vegetables all can cause your GI problems because of their excess fructose levels.

    Great video. Knowing the fructose to glucose ratio in foods is very important to understanding how different foods with different G to F ratios are digested or not digested. This video explains that very well. I'm guessing that most people don't fully understand how that all works. This video explains that very well. Thank you for the detailed explanation on how it all works.

      ​@@MarkCooperMD Hey Mark, i just cant seem to get my body to Digest any Sugars! Why does anything with Sugar give me a Migraine, even Fruit! What could be wrong with me? I've tried the Amylase enzyme and it didnt work.😒 Even Dextrose gives me a Headache.

    I’m really mad and sad that I have been to over 5 gastrointestinal drs and none of them have helped me. It’s like they don’t know anything you mention.
    I’m in the Boston area . Where is your practice?

      Same here! I am furious how useless they are. They work very inefficiently! I came to this conclusion by myself. I am gonna get it confirmed by tests. But it is crazy how my liver could have been damaged harshly by this. They even did p-bilirubine tests which showed something was off!!! CRAZY

      @@Juznik1389 yes you have to fight for your answer . When they should know where to look with all the studies and information out there. It’s like they learn basics and then never go beyond that .

    Can eating eating a lot of fruit cause gas and looser stools?

      Yes it can. Apples and pears have a lot of excess fructose. So do melons. Blackberries have naturally occurring sorbitol. Follow what fruits cause more issue. While these symptoms can be bothersome they aren’t harmful.

      @@MarkCooperMD yeh i worry too much. Been doing great having nice stools for now and then looser.
      Funny cause does are all the fruits i love to binge on!!
      Could you explain in a video lactose intolerance? Sometimes im fine with it and other times wow does it f*** me up.
