However we also decided to convert my mother(88) over to low carb healthy keto, and making sure she gets all the foods you recommend for people with kidney disease. As she was on so many meds to manage her dementia, type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, chronic kidney disease and other conditions we have eased her into it over a long period. Recently we finally got her to OMAD most of the time. In addition recently she has had some faint like behaviour and the doc has now also halved her blood pressure meds after taking some measurements over a period of time. No sign of any slowing of her dementia, but no increase either. All in all, amazing results, all from life style & diet. I think you can add my mother to your success stories.

Here are the 8 healthiest foods: 1. Red meat-Grass-fed, grass-finished beef is excellent for your health and is one of the highest sources of glutamine. 2. Wild-caught fatty fish-Salmon and other fatty fish are rich in omega-3 fatty acids. 3. Shellfish-Shrimp, clams, mussels, and other shellfish contain omega-3s, but they’re also a rich source of trace minerals. Oysters are one of the best sources of zinc. 4. Eggs-Choose organic pasture-raised eggs. 5. Fermented vegetables-Sauerkraut and kimchi are excellent sources of probiotics and vitamin C. 6. Leafy greens-Arugula, spinach, and high-quality lettuce contain folate, vitamin C, magnesium, and potassium. Consuming dairy with spinach can reduce oxalates. 7. Organ meats-Beef liver, cod liver, and other organ meats are rich in many vitamins, minerals, and trace minerals. 8. Herbs and spices-Garlic, onion, sage, thyme, sea salt, basil, and cinnamon all have unique properties and important health benefits. Thank you Dr Berg!😺👍
I bought hamburger with organ meat from U.S. Wellness meats, as well as their grass fed roasts. I hate to say this, but the meat often tasted rancid, so I stopped buying it. I bought from another company, I think the name was Slacker, or something like that, and had the same experience. Finding it hard to obtain healthy meat that tastes good. I've been buying some grass fed steaks from Walmart. Those seem to taste OK. But the other issue for me is cost. Why does it always have to be so dang expensive compared to the corn fed meat. As for the fatty fish, I cant' stand the taste. I absolutely hate the taste of fish, and loathe the smell even more. Had a friend when I was a teen, who was from Korea. I couldn't stand being at his house because it smelled like a fish market. The only one I can eat is tuna, as tuna salad, so taste is masked. I can understand why our food system became so unhealthy. Eating healthy just doesn't taste as good. Not even close. Like it or not, they corn feed the cows because it makes the meat taste better. And it just seems the better the food tastes, the less healthy it is.
@@leroyrussell8766it’s because we’re not supposed to eat meat I love dr beef but he really needs to stop being so meat bias it’s apparent. Those are the only 4 things you can even argue about and it could be found in non meat products he does not mention any of this you don’t need some complicated
@@lawrencetrujillo7365 We are in fact, designed to eat meat. We evolved doing so. What we aren't designed to do is eat 3 or 4 meals every single day, and especially not with snacks. Human growth hormone production begins around 20 hours into a fast. At the same time, your body begins eating the bad cells, also called folded proteins. If you do NOT fast on a regular basis, you WILL die early of a degenerative disease. Fasting is renewal. Modern convenience has ruined that. Another thing we are not designed to eat are processed foods. Something Vegans and Vegetarians tend to do.
@@leroyrussell8766 Designed to eat meat, you claim? And someone who doesn't eat meat will not be able to live a healthy life ? Come to India and I will show you tens of millions of vegetarians over 100 years of age who are as fit and healthy as anyone can ever be and still do physical work the entire day at this age. These people have never eaten meat in their lives and fully thrive on a vegetarian diet which is also free from processed foods. I have been living with them here in India. I can see so many beliefs of yours are wrong regarding diet and also fasting. Fasting is indeed extremely good for the body and helps to keep the body away from so many diseases but claiming that one who doesn't fast will die early from degenerative diseases is incorrect. Degenerative diseases do not come from not fasting ( but fasting does help in preventing them) but due to a variety of reasons like stress you are living under( It is the biggest reason), your external environment, whether you regularly eat processed foods, etc. So many of my known old people who never fast are doing perfectly fine without any degenerative diseases because they live a care free life with a vegetarian diet free from processed foods. You need to reevaluate the beliefs that are there in your mind regarding diet and fasting.
@@leroyrussell8766 haha ok let me prove you wrong with some physiological facts. Please try and state any non anecdotal biological facts on why humans are omnivores I guarantee you can’t. 1: humans have IDENTICAL teeth to great apes actually humans are smaller and duller. All known great apes eat less than 3% meat look up the percentages before you say I’m lying… great apes have even sharper larger canines and molars than humans and they don’t eat meat. 2: carnivores and omnivores fully digest meat in 4 to 8 hours, in contrast humans fully digest meat in 2 to 3 days. 3: Carnivores and omnivores do not have digestive enzymes in their saliva, while herbivores and humans both have carbohydrate digestive enzymes. 4: Consider cats (carnivores) and dogs (omnivores) at meal time. They swallow their food whole, without chewing. But watch a rabbit or a deer (herbivore) eat, and it’s evident that extensive chewing takes place before swallowing, as with humans. 5: Stomach acidity in carnivores and omnivores has a pH of 1 or less, strong enough to kill pathogens in raw flesh. In contrast, stomach acidity of herbivores has a pH between 4 and 5 humans have a resting ph of 1.5 but when food is ingested it raises to 4.5. 6: Carnivores and omnivores stomachs make up 65 per cent of their digestive tract volume. In contrast, herbivores have a stomach size of less than 30 per cent. Human stomach capacity is even lower at 25 per cent. 7: The length of the small intestines in carnivores and omnivores is only three to six times their body length; in herbivores, it’s 10 to 12 times their body length to allow for adequate absorption of nutrients. Similarly, our intestinal length is 10 to 11 times. 8: In carnivores and omnivores, the colon is simple, short, and smooth. In herbivores, the colon is long, complex, and may be sacculated. Our colon is long and sacculated. 9: Carnivores and omnivores can detoxify vitamin A in their livers, while herbivores cannot. Neither can humans. I could keep going but I think I’ll stop there.

Thank you so much Dr Berg, you are very appreciated. People need to know about the terrible oils, remove them and use only good, natural oils/fats. And I love how you're emphasizing probiotics. 💚 They're truly life saving, essential for good health!!
They used to say you need unsaturated fats in order for them to carry vitamins. Then, they used to say whole wheat was better for the body, as well. I have been studying "health food" since the early 1970's and find it interesting how so many concepts have completely reversed over the years.
They never said you needed unsaturated fats to absorb vitamins, just fat in general. Now they don’t even bother saying that, just eat your plants and you’ll be fine 😮

Great list. There are two DEEP PURPLE foods that I’d also put on the list. Purple Sweet Potatoes… which the people of Okinawa use for longevity. Wild organic blueberries… which haven’t been bred for size and sweetness like farm grown blueberries. The purple color in these two foods are indicators of Anthocyanins, which are powerful polyphenols that prevent damage to the mitochondria.
Dr Berg - thanks for video - one question about beef - you mentioned it contains high levels of glutamine. I agree, based on recent research, these are the essential ingredients to provide energy, sustain life, and promote the growth and repair of tissue in the human body (except he forgot to add water). That said however, individual adjustments should also be considered for genetics, lifestyle/cultures (ie: because at $13/head in less remote areas, the Inuit would have a hard time finding lettuce that they can afford), environmental issues and health conditions: Red meat-grass-fed, grass-finished ruminant meat & organ meats- beef liver, cod liver, duck liver (organic/free range/regenerative farm produced) & free-range

I’m 22 male. I play hockey, workout and am a marathon runner, currently training for a race. Is keto/low carb still recommended for me considering my physical activity is very high?
Just started doing Carnivore almost 2 weeks ago. Within a week all the bloated-ness went away. I am avoiding foods with oxalates, lectins, goitrogens, catechins, salicylates, and flavanoids for starters. No greens, no night shades like tomatoes, no fermented either. I agree with grass-fed beef, pasture-raised eggs with no soy or grain feed, wild caught salmon, onion & garlic (because they keep those pipes clean -- at least for me). I feel really good now and much better than when I made these 'menu' changes almost 2 weeks ago. I do not call it D-I-E-T because of the first 3 letters in that word.
Carnivore is an excellent elimination diet to reset & heal our guts. After 6 months you can try to add back another healthy food one at a time to see if you get an difficult inflammation response.

Vit b12- is in mushrooms and eggs vit d3- you can get from 30 minutes of sun and fatty acids DHA/EPA is in algae oil and eggs hemp seeds have the most complete protein per gram out of anything on earth.
I'm implementing the "Lawn and Garden Diet" as soon as spring rolls in. I'm going to eat the "weeds" that grow in our yard and garden in salads and I'm going to love it! I did it last year and couldn't believe how much better I felt almost instantly.
Dandelion leaves, mustard greens, dock, purslane, pigweed, lambs quarters, lady's thumb... It was so good with a carrot ginger dressing. *chef's kiss*

Thank you Dr. I've been keto for 3 weeks. The bloating, going to loo at least 4 times a day has stopped.i have energy, i feel like im actually awake not wondering around in a dream state, i can concentrate for longer, although I'm in my 70s my brain is like mentally in my 40s.❤
Fantastic! Keep up the good work!
I’m 41 and the past year my gut has taken a change for the worst. I have a horrible diet I know I need to start there.
Dr Bergs advice has changed my life and how I look at lifestyle and nutrition. Love your work. I look forward to your videos every week!
Thank you Dr. Berg for keeping your videos short. Not easy to listen to hour long ones.
Glad to know that you liked this post!
I used to follow you in 20219-20 and dr berg you were a blessing, however during covid got married, work life was hectic, moved countries and things are messy... and due to which gained 35 kgs of weight back.
getting back on track
thank you for the video
I literally was in a discussion with a MD yesterday, who said eating meat is the worst thing you could do. I asked her to prove it and she just got mad and left. Most (not all) MD’s are trained to prescribe not to actually heal. It’s pretty sad
Veganism is an ideological diet plan, not a healthful one.
Don't listen to G.P. or Specialists they want to get you sick and keep you that way ,all they want is to keep selling you expensive drugs with side effects

One Dr.Berg's video a day keeps diseases away. 😉
Haha
LoL 😂. Good one!
Agreed!
Lol..good one, and im agree bro!😂😂
Great. Personally, I will also include nuts and seeds, some fruit, cheese, milk, ghee and dark chocolate. 😊
If you don't like liver, heat it up on butter, with onion and garlic, An even add potatoes. I often add some herbs besides the salt and pepper, like oregano or thyme. My family loves it.
Finally I found a video that has meat in the thumbnail as something that is healthy cuz I don't know why but a ton of people believe the meat is unhealthy when we are omnivores and we eat both plant life and meat
Salt no salt fat sugar... its all a flip flop
They used to tell us that eggs were bad for us and margarine is better than butter. But, trust the science.
That's because you are listening to "they". Never listen to "they"😅
They never said you needed unsaturated fats to absorb vitamins, just fat in general. Now they don’t even bother saying that, just eat your plants and you’ll be fine 😮
@@GODHATESADOPTION Yep, that's what I am saying. Nearly everything that "science" said was good for us 60 years ago, or even 40 years ago, has been proven wrong.

May be too soon to fully tell, but about two weeks ago I started getting some alarming “signals” from my chest telling me I may not have long left if I don’t start making some changes. So over the past couple weeks I’ve gone full speed into making as many healthy dietary changes as possible (with a lot of help from your and others’ channels) and I can honestly say the “signals” are becoming much less frequent and I feel generally better now than I did two weeks ago (and I dropped a few pounds pretty quickly too). It’s amazing what a clean diet can do for the body. Still have work to do in other areas of my health, but we’re getting there.
I love dr.Berg. used to be a big fan and watch him live every Friday at 11am est time. Unfortunately, I became soooo busy lately at work couldn't attend Friday videos.
But never miss any videos he posts. So informative and helpful . We all love u Dr berg. God bless you 🙏 ❤️
Thanks so much for your support despite your busy schedule. Stay healthy and safe!
I was searching the amount of k2 in eggs. Then I found it is 7 mcg in one website and around 42 to 192 mcg in another website. There's a huge difference. I can't trust them. Thank you, Dr. Berg for improving our knowledge about our health and diet.
I have found these videos super super helpful, but I would really benefit from seeing what you personally eat. Or a couple dinner lunch recipes!
Could you make a video with this please?
thank you so much for your videos, I've been eating poison my entire life but have been transitioning to eating actual foods and living a healthy lifestyle thanks to you, my kids deserve it, I deserve it. Thank you

Recently started eating lamb liver twice a week. Then after a few weeks I started becoming more and more anxious for no reason. And then I found out that lamb liver had a LOT of copper and that depletes my zinc. Took a zinc supplement and BOOM, all my anxiety was gone. Dr Berg - thanks for video - one question about beef - you mentioned it contains high levels of glutamine. I agree, based on recent research, these are the essential ingredients to provide energy, sustain life, and promote the growth and repair of tissue in the human body (except he forgot to add water). That said however, individual adjustments should also be considered for genetics, lifestyle/cultures (ie: because at $13/head in less remote areas, the Inuit would have a hard time finding lettuce that they can afford), environmental issues and health conditions:
Red meat-grass-fed, grass-finished ruminant meat & organ meats- beef liver, cod liver, duck liver (organic/free range/regenerative farm produced) & free-range
