My daddy was definitely a provider as you described. I’m 39, a nurse and have yet to find a man that wants to be a provider. Unfortunately I accepted not so long ago a situation to support my partner financially UNTIL he could get a job. This means that I worked and he was waisting his time at home watching football. It turned out that he was an abusive narcissist, etc... For me as a woman, this situation was a constant stress. Like I had to go fighting each and every day - was a woman designed for this? Well, not exactly. So it affected my hormone system, because our body is wise, as I went on war each and every day, my body needed more testosterone, estrogen, less progesterone, like little by little I started to become a man. Okay, I didn't change sex, but it produced a tumor in my uterus which was a result of these hormone problems. And it's all because of loosing contol over me as a female! One time my mother was talking with my father about working over time at her job. He said “no, I got this.” Then he went and worked double shifts. In my mid-twenties I married a n unproductive, none working man and after seven years I resented him, I r e s e n t e d him highly and it caused so much bitterness in my life and heart. I resented him but did not take into consideration he was really trying and there were honest roadblocks for him. I have continued to work very hard but I am exhausted. A man should enter your life and make it better. Taking care financially of a man is even bad for your health, I'm talking about my experience. Unfortunately I accepted not so long ago a situation to support my partner financially UNTIL he could get a job. This means that I worked and he was waisting his time at home watching football. It turned out that he was an abusive narcissist, etc... For me as a woman, this situation was a constant stress. Like I had to go fighting each and every day - was a woman designed for this? Well, not exactly. So it affected my hormone system, because our body is wise, as I went on war each and every day, my body needed more testosterone, estrogen, less progesterone, like little by little I started to become a man. Okay, I didn't change sex, but it produced a tumor in my uterus which was a result of these hormone problems. And it's all because of loosing contol over me as a female! So girls, this is serious, you have to respect yourself as a woman otherwise you can easily accept an disrespectful clown in a crown abusing you, turning you into their mother, father, whatever but their partner

We accumulated alot of wealth and assets jointly. In the end, he stole everything and said it was all due to him when he never would have amounted to anything without me. In my mid-twenties I married a n unproductive, none working man and after seven years I resented him, I r e s e n t e d him highly and it caused so much bitterness in my life and heart. I would tell any young lady to take their time and pick a man who has the qualities that Bishop b l a k e s talk about. I am now in my 50s and I was such a fool when I was young. To this day, I have never been back out on the dating scene because of my experience in my twenties because I thought all men were going to be like that man that I had married and since divorced.

I resented him but did not take into consideration he was really trying and there were honest roadblocks for him. I have continued to work very hard but I am exhausted. More importantly, don't be afraid to love and commit again we have less life left than in our 20s and spending it with someone is to our benefit in so many ways.

This was gold. I’ve been saying this forever. And another thing, a real man provides without asking. When a man really cares for you, he will ask you about your needs and take care of it. A man should enter your life and make it better. If he doesn’t elevate your current position, financially, emotionally or spiritually- he’s not doing his job as a man and if he can’t provide during the courting or relationship stage, it also shows what to expect during marriage.
In our culture, a man is expected to provide and if a man cannot provide, we are discouraged from even courting with him. My mother and aunts would constantly remind me that when dating you should present the man with your plans, your monthly expenses and investments you need him to take care of. If he doesn’t provide something or make no effort to help out- he’s not the one. And if he has no vision, no way of making provision then he’s not the one.
A man should never see you doing the heavy lifting, working two jobs, stressing, being all manly or bossy to make money to take care of of yourself- and not Offer a hand.

Im from Chicago I wish I could meet you one day. The caliber of men I'm used to interacting with ( family or friends close to my family) are providers, protectors, call/ text to make sure I'm ok, solid dudes. When my dad passed 4 years ago he had his affairs in order for myself. Needless to say I need someone equally yoked with me FINANCIALLY, spiritually & emotionally. If I see a man is broke or cheap I bow out quickly.
