I think the SE is my favorite overall iPhone, and I’ve had a few. I’m not afraid of spending money, but the features, longevity, and quality this device delivers is unparalleled. It’s also the final evolution of the phone Steve created. I bought an 11 Pro around release, and I still use the SE more. It’s a great phone.
What do u think of the mini lineup. The 13 mini might be a good upgrade
@@RandomUser-tj3mg it’s a great phone, no doubt, but I think the 2016 SE had just the right amount of everything, for the right price, with support for an incredible amount of time. The design is still slightly better than the mini, and I wouldn’t be surprised if it turns out to have been the last generation to DOUBLE the RAM on an iPhone. Since RAM is the limiting factor for iOS updates, the 6s and SE might be the exception to the length of software support.
I’ll go with a mini model when I upgrade, but I’m just annoyed that I bought the 11 Pro, so “upgrading” doesn’t make really any sense at all.
@@sterlingroberts6240 I’ve got an XR right now, switched back to it from a Galaxy Note 20 Ultra and tempted by the Mini, in my head it would stop me using the phone as much. On the other hand the Surface Duo 2 would be amazing for my work (just can’t be arsed working around not having iMessage which 99% of people I am close to use)
@@DanielHarrisCodes that Xr is still great. I wouldn’t upgrade unless you really want/need the new features. The speed difference won’t be all that noticeable, and iPhones don’t change unless there’s a real point in doing so.
That said, I’m a PHONE guy, so mini is the way to go. Most people need their phone to serve as their primary device, so the standard 6.1” model or larger pro max make more sense for them.
I had the og iPhone se for 2 years. I paid 144 new, and loved every min I owned it. Not worth 400, but it was a great phone. I just recently went to a 12 mini. It’s what the iPhone se2 should have been

Im on my second iphone se 1st gen, and really like it. it is compact, cheap, fits in my pocket, and runs iOS fine, rear camera is great, takes 4k video. I hope to buy few more as a spare for future.

I just bought a second iPhone SE off Amazon. It should arrive next week! These are my favorite little phones. I have the silver one now but wanted the space gray too lol.
I recently had to upgrade because I think about like 2-3 years ago I had a soda right next to my phone and you can probably guess what took place so yea that really damaged the phone like so badly to the point where my maximum battery went from the usual 85% all the way dawn to 65% percent, that’s when I knew I needed an upgrade
I still use this. It's my only phone since years. And I am fine with it.
I still use iPhone se too 👍🏻 but I only have 16gb so I can't update to iOS 15 :(
@@THEduke771 Uh, that's a thing? No update with 16GB? Didn't know that. With 128GB I'm fine. - Perhaps you can find one with a broken display for cheap. Swap the display from your 16GB one (but keep the fingerprint sensor! It has to match with the logic board!) and you're good to go. ;o)

i sold my oneplus 8T and am now using the se as my only phone, and i don’t feel like it’s that much of a downgrade honestly (except with the battery) it’s still smooth and runs all the apps i need no problem.
even the camera fits my needs as i don’t take much selfies (I’m ugly af)
I've legitimately been rocking the original SE for three months now and I'm loving it. I simply prefer the form factor and design. And it totally holds up and is on the latest and greatest iOS. The camera does fall short sometimes but is still money if there is enough light. It's funny, but I went backwards from the 256GB iPhone SE 2020, to the 128GB iPhone SE 2016. Weird tech moves, yo.

@@orremusic9607 Battery health reads 100% and I am a light user so it never really dies on me. I use it in conjunction with a watch too and no social media on the phone, so I keep screen time to a minimum.

Just got my first iPhone yesterday, this one in 64GB grey for 35€, and this is amazing! It's a iPhone Pro Max 13 at half size, with 99% the functionality with 2 bonusses added: Touch ID and mini-jack. Even the camera is better than I thought, both the 13 and SE are sub par when it comes to pictures. It is a choice between a little vintage-fuz or heavy overprocessing. Hard choice. The best camera phone by Apple is still the 11 Pro Max (before they started messing up with software) and outside Apple the 2015 Lumia 950XL seems to remain king forever ever after.

My Pixel 5a died a couple weeks ago, so I put my SIM into an old iPhone SE (1st gen) that I had sitting in a drawer, thinking I'd just use it as a temporary phone while I shop for a replacement. I was shocked to find that not only did this little thing update to the latest iOS (15.3.1), but it actually works fine! I'm still using it two weeks later. I've enjoyed using the SE1 so much that I've now decided to get an iPhone 12 mini or 13 mini (instead of just getting another Pixel).Such a pleasure to use this little phone as my daily driver.

Went from an XS to a rose gold SE 2016 as I needed a new phone in a bind paid $100 refurbished, put a new upgraded battery in it and I LOVE it.
Camera is poor, but form factor is simply awesome. Typing is difficult though.
I’m torn now, have the cash and could buy a 13 mini, but what would I do with a perfectly fine SE?

@@beansy99 You’re lucky. OLED screens cause problems due to the PWM flickering which causes headaches/migraines/dizziness for some people. Including me unfortunately. The SE screen doesn’t have that issue.

Was still using this phone until a couple of months ago. Was still going strong and could have kept using it but upgraded to a 12 mini.
I have one of these! They’re really not too bad, I’d recommend a 3rd party battery upgrade for it though, get a slightly higher capacity
Or at least a battery case- since it's compatible with those made for iPhone 5 and 5s, there are a lot of cheap options around. I got me a Product Red Mophie case for 50 cents! (At a Goodwill)

@@marshthefoxcat If you plan on keeping it for 2 years + I would strongly suggest 128GB if you take alot of photo's! Also, once you get the phone, I wouldn't upgrade it because just like the iPhone 4S became after IOS 9. It became unusable. IOS 15 might be too much for the iPhone SE 2016 to handle, so I'd op out of it or at the very least wait for some reviews on YT videos before you decide to take the dive!

Great phone if you're an andriod user & want iMessage to communictate with Apple users for cheap or you can just use, WhatsApp. However, not everybody uses it though.
I did the same some months ago as a backup device, I never actually used it for anything so I sold it.

I bought my iPhone SE (my first iPhone ever btw) with 16gb in 2017 but after 3 years the battery was damaged and the 16gb was too small so last year I bought the iPhone 7 with 128gb. I still use the SE like an iPod to listen to music. Old iPhones are fine, i have no complaints.
If you wanna keep any phone from 2016, it has got to be the mi mix 1. Not only has it aged far better than the iPhone SE, with a battery replacement and slapping on a good custom rom from the mi mix 1 telegram group, it'll be pretty damn good. Even the camera will be alright with a good gcam version.
I am still using one and this phone will definitely turn heads. No other budget phone will do that as much if at all. And that full ceramic build with no camera bump really makes the design stand out. Its one hell of a phone.

@@siyzerix Not as tech savy as you're, but I agree with you. Still have my SE 2016 for 3 years now. Battery isn't great but I'll never spend more than $300 for any phone. I'd rather wait till price drops or go on Marketplace

Ive been a Samsung man mainly ..am going small biz - Self employed after 2yrs lockdown and illness had enough... I know Apple is king for biz side of phone industry ...Seceretly always wanted a Apple phone but for biz networking etc ..That time as come and my son had this same IPHONE SE in draw prob used for 3 mths many years ago he as the 8 for work. The SE is in pristine condition still does its job so he is giving it to me for my biz should arrive weekend end of April.

I had a 2016 SE until it died in late 2021, can’t say I wasn’t to upset (purely because it was a 16gb) but I’ve got to say, I don’t see any major usage differences to my iPhone 8 it’s just slightly bigger

Am still using one everyday and love it to bits! I bought it used, three years ago, at 85% battery health, today its 65%. Shall put in a new battery soon. The only thing that disappoints me is the storage. 32gb doesnt cut it today. M toying with the idea of replacing the onboard flash with a 256gb
