Heart surgery, only at 20 years old I got them all fixed, half are broken. And all that for 4 extractions that no dentist wanted to do because the government decided that if I die, that dentist will lose his/her job for life. 2) Paying a dentist to file them down to nothing and destroy them, then

A couple of years before I started having problems. he kept telling me I live on sweets, the strange this was I was not a sweet eater of biscuit/cake eater. For the next 10 years of his re-attaching, even taking some out, I changed dentist. The truth came out, botched fixings, food etc. being trapped behind the crowns, no amount of brushing would change the rot. What people don’t realise is that veneers and crowns need replacing and especially with crowns, the original tooth will probably crack and need to be fully removed leaving you without a tooth/teeth. You then need implants which cost a lot more. You need healthy bone for implants or you’ll be stuck with dentures for the rest of your life. Don’t mess with healthy teeth, look after them.

I've read online that veneers need replacing, I got mine though on my two front teeth when I was 12 years old due to fluorosis causing pitting and ugly discolouring/spotting in those two teeth (they certainly didn't file them back in the way we see on this video. When they did my veneers which they matched to my natural teeth colouring. I'm 53 now and still have those same two veneers 41 years later!! and they are fine, they haven't ever broke or chipped (maybe slightly more discoloured then they were originally thou).). So I think many are unnecessary replacing their veneers.

But a rule of thumb I’ve learnt over time, is to avoid any operator who HEAVILY advertises, or spends way too much time self promoting themselves online through social media. The best advertisement for a dental or cosmetic surgeon is their happy and delighted customers, as they will tell their family and friends on who is really good in their profession. Speaking as a dentist, this specific style of obviously bad, horribly bleach white and totally opaque veneers and crowns are so cringe inducing. No self-respecting dental lab technician would feel good about sending that kind of work out into the world. It also grossly violates the principles of beneficence and non-maleficence towards patients.

I do agree that it is such a shame that young people with lovely teeth are having their teeth filed down. I would never have done that when I was younger.
I was a dancer and choreographer for 23 years so looking good was part of my life.
I had a fantastic career yet behind the scenes I suffered with an eating disorder for many years, heroin and cocaine addiction, alcoholism etc etc
In the early nineties the dentists loved pulling my teeth out when they weren’t in a good condition.
From the age of 38 I had no teeth in my upper mouth except for my front 4 teeth which my dentist described as like paper and you could practically see through them.
I wore dental plates for 13-14 years which were never very good waiting weeks and months for them on the NHS, I hadn’t been able to chew and eat certain foods for so many years (this is with the dental plates)
My gums were receding in my upper jaw and I only smiled with my mouth closed for many many years.
2 years ago an opportunity came for me to be able to get my teeth fixed, for me it wasn’t about looking good (though that is a bonus) it was about creating my mouth to how it should be so my gums would stop receding and my face wouldn’t fall in before it’s time.
I did my research and went to a fantastic place that did vaneers for many customers. I needed implants and crowns.
I had to have 4 implants and they needed to add bone to my upper jaw and do sinus work before they could put implants in.
Whilst the surgeon did his work he realised that i didn’t need the bone and sinus work on one side, so I received a refund for that part.
To cut a long story, now I am 53 years old, my dental work was completed last November (I had to go twice with 6 months in between)
my mouth was an absolute mess before and now it is unbelievable.
I can eat apples again- WOW! I can eat and chew meat again!
I believe that DCT (Dental Centre Turkey) is a fantastic place.
They don’t talk people into getting things done that are unnecessary.
They have so many clients and they are always booked up because they have brilliant surgeons and dentists.
So I agree with your point but remember there are many of us that are not celebrities and cannot afford £40,000 of dental work to be done in this country.
I cannot tell you the difference it has made to my health and my self esteem.
So there are always many sides and views to this sort of thing.
    Thanks for reading 🙏🏼

I last had two fillings and some cleaning done that was recommended by the dentist, I ended up paying £380.00!! no wonder they can't be bothered dealing with anyone on the NHS.

Hello, Turkish here. My uncle is a Prof Dr. who did those ''Cheap holiday at Turkey + a surgery'' bundle for about a year. He did stomach reduction surgeries mostly on British folks who saved around %200 to %300 on surgeries if they had it in UK. Most of the time the doctor who is going to operate you is well educated and good at his job. But sometimes because of the high demand, hospital owners could hire doctors not experienced enough. They are greedy and business-focused unlike doctors who work for them. So when a pricier method is recommended for a specific operation, if they sense the patient founds it expensive they might sweep it under the carpet. My uncle didn't even followed up the patient after the operation, it was done by nurses. Which seemed to him very odd at the time. He had to go to commercial shoots every week or so, had to speak fluent English exc. So the industry might not what you see, Research the doctor who is going to operate you in Turkish resources and translate it. You'll get much accurate results.

We do see tones of patients that got this treatment in Spain, Greece , all of balkans even from Germany and US. People are coming here because here we have much lower profit margins. We do use European products and European quality standards. The reason why these problems occur more in Turkey is not because they are cheap but because they are numerous.Turkey's dentistry is one of the best in the world. As somebody who has struggled with bad teeth all my life, it is just insane to know that a beauty trend will make you suffer pain for the rest of your life. These people are still young, maybe some of them do not have pain as yet. But every time new crowns have to be fitted, little more tooth has to be shaved off. Eventually the teeth will die. And then the real problems start. On top of all, you will have to spend money over and over again, which some might not have at some point in their life. Sad, really sad. I am paying now thousand to a biological dentist to take out all the root canal teeth, titanium implants and clean the jaw bone out. Slowly I know what it feels like to have a healthy jaw / teeth area, and these people are destroying themselves willingly, terrible

You go to a dentist and all you want to do is have your teeth professionally cleaned and you are immediately told that you have cavities on five teeth and that you need a partial crown on another tooth. And on one tooth, the filling should be replaced (the filling was a year old). If you then go to another dentist (whom you know privately), then he finds nothing....If you come to Germany and had perfect teeth, then you leave Germany at some point with ten fillings and several crowns!!!!

Both countries have very similar success rates. However, we would still see more headlines coming from Turkey because there are more operations being done there, just like with other aesthetic procedures

This is what happens when people do not want to put in the effort to make their teeth straight and maintain them. There are no shortcuts when it comes to health.

My sister paid £1,500 for one tooth at a clinic in the west end of Glasgow, so that would be about £48,000 for the full set of 32. I don't know how anyone thinks they can get a full set of good quality artificial teeth for a mere two grand?

1.4 million people visited Turkey in 2023 for various health services. It's all very commercialized there. No doubt there are good doctors and people who cannot afford procedures in their home country will choose Turkey as an option. But I always suggest my clients to consult locally first to see what is actually needed to be done, the cost and time frames.

I live here in Turkey and there are some fantastic dentists, very professional and very good prices.
As with any country you get bad professions, my advice , get testimonials before you have treatment, don't just go for the cheapest...
But yes Turkey is great for medical procedures just use your loaf..
    Cheers 👍

I mean I hardly think Katie Price chose the cheapest option... and her teeth were filed down smaller than all of the rest.
That's a method that wouldn't even be considered in northern Europe.
It's like saying that China is fantastic at manufacturing technology at very good prices.
Sure they are pretty good at what they do, but their method is totally f**ked. Turkey probably is great yeah, but only compared to like the Balkans & north Africa.

My Sister and I both had a tooth, that needed to be capped. Mine did last about 20 years, but eventually it fell off and needed to be ground down more and fitter for a new cap. My sisters was ground down too much so her cap fell out 3 times. And eventually she needed a bridge. These kids are getting this done at 18. They are nuts, it is not forever. We were in our late 30's. It was one tooth.

I had my porcelain crowns done in Izmir Turkey in 2013. Still have them, never had any problems and would highly recommend them! VERY clean places in Turkey, no outdoor shoes allowed inside dentist. Hi tech equipment and lovely people! Cost me 6k.
Anybody who has porcelain crowns have their teeth filed down, it’s the process no matter what country you have them done in!
I was picked up from airport, driven to a villa where I would spend the next 10 days full board. Other women there who had had, or having a variety of procedures. You get driven to every appointment. Very safe, clean and a laugh!
Not everybody goes for the Hollywood white, you get to choose your shade. Obviously I have had no dentist trips since I had them, that’s a money saver in itself.
Maybe stop slagging off Turkey and slag off the greedy b*****ds in the UK! Maybe people would not go to other countries if the UK was not such a rip off!

You can only disagree if you have had them and they were botched. If that’s the case then you went for the cheapest.
If it was so bad, how come the “celebrities” teeth look good?
Like I said, filing teeth down is part of the process and every dentist in every country has to do it. Maybe google instead of believing everything you see.

The point is most of this work being done can be done with veneers, you dont need to destroy your teeth with full crowns to achieve the same result in the majority of cases. Depending on how the veneers are made they can even be fully reversible and last just as long as crowns whilst minimising the damage to your own teeth. Remember, once you have this work done, you are in the "restorative cycle" for the rest of your life, so every 10 years on average you will be getting at least some of the work re-done. The more tooth structure you remove, the more the health of your teeth is compromised in the future (the pulp in the tooth shrinks over time and is accelerated when you remove large amounts of the tooth until the tooth eventually becomes non- vital (dies). The reason i know this... im a dental technician (the guy that makes the crowns and veneers)

    • @paulgerrard6085
      @paulgerrard6085 Год назад +1

another thing ill add, theres prepping for crowns, and theres prepping for crowns. allot of the teeth in this video look grossley over prepped so as time goes on these people shouldn't be surprised if they have issues with their underlying teeth allot sooner than they would have. ( again due to the pulp of the tooth shrinking relative to the amount of tooth surfaced removed). The reason these cases are being done with crowns in many of the cases is that making veneers well takes more time and skill for both the technician and the dentist so its easier and cheaper to just chop everything down and use crowns. Obviously the ethical dentists in turkey are warning all their patients about this before they carry out the treatment ;/.

@@paulgerrard6085 no it can’t! I had crooked teeth and an overbite, veneers would not be sufficient! In 10 days I had new, straight teeth and a chin implant to rectify and align my jaw.
Some people have a mouth full of fillings, veneers won’t help that. There are many different scenarios.
If you have not had any, you have absolutely no idea!

Anytime a dentist mentions veneers I shush them and smile… nooo way! I’d rather have tetracycline stained yellowish but healthy teeth then fake ones and all my teeth would be ruined.
