Im 21 and I love getting on it, but the amount of money needed to have a good night is ridiculous. It is true that my generation is a lot more fitness/wellness minded, myself included, but the real reason why youngsters aren't going out is the expenses. Drink prices are insane in pubs but eye watering in clubs (especially on a weekend), on top of that entry fees and god awful DJs make the appeal of going to the club nonexistent. I think the Raving culture is well and truly back and this means less people drinking and more getting on the proper party drugs.
