- Hi Everyone,
Thank you for joining me, and I’m continuing to use my American CA in a bloom swipe this time on 12”x12” mdf rounds. This is my first large round and first time swiping a bloom with acetate and do I have A LOT of discoveries to share throughout this video!!!!
Again, I want to thank all subscribers, new and the frequent fliers, for the continued support and encouragement through my RUclips channel. We just surpassed 1400 and I thank you for your interest! My intent is to always show in a succinct video what I'm learning, what I know, provide tips, often with some philosophy and a few nature videos sprinkled in.
The details:
My latest cell activator is Amsterdam’s oxide black, also Amsterdam’s titanium white
Recipe and how I make it: • 141. Cell Activator Re...
Pillow paints: Behr Gray Flannel satin (for a little color) with a lot of PPG MultiPro eggshell 47-3110
My pouring medium is the usual Glidden semi gloss ultra deep base GLN6413N: Minwax Gloss
3:1 ratio
My paints are called out in the video!
If you like this video and haven’t already, please subscribe and click ‘all’ and you will be kept up-to-date with the latest videos I put out. I usually share about three per week and try to keep them edited down as much as possible and provide as much explanation and detail as I can.

OMG I love that piece!! So freaking pretty.
Thank you, 😊 Susan, I just made one very similar to that style wise slightly different colors that I’ll be probably posting, I don’t know. We’ll see what videos I have in the lineup.
Mrs. Gail, my thoughts EXACTLY. I wish all other artists here on RUclips would be as thorough, diligent in their thought process when making videos. Bc you would not believe how much I’ve learned from this one video, than I have compared to 3 years of watching all kinds of artists on RUclips. So Mrs. Louise THANK YOU SO SO SO VERY MUCH FOR ALL OF YOUR EFFORTS IN EXPLAINING ALL THE DETAILS AND BEING SO INCREDIBLY HELPFUL IN THIS ONE VIDEO, & I’ve watched countless other videos & I’ve learned more in this one then all them combined. & I am unbelievably grateful for finding your channel and having watched this video bc you have taught me so so much. Thank you
Nicole Belanger- Richardson
❤❤❤OMG thank you so much for your compliments! I had tons to learn hear, and most videos I share some tidbits, but I learned so much hear I had to tell all. I’m going to pin Gail’s comment today and yours tomorrow. I’m blow away and thrilled at your comment Nicole. Thank you, thank you!
That is absolutely beautiful!!
Thank you, Carolyn, 😘thank you for checking out the link I provided, yes this is probably the most closely related! And it was my first I loved this one I called it confetti❤️
Beautiful! Love it!
@@padmapriyajames thank you Priya😘
WOWSA - I love this so much Louise - I think this is my new fave WOW - I am a huge fan of pastels and the fact that you were able to get those cells with the straw. This is a beauty - I love it
Thanks Lori💕, yeah as I was getting near the end I saw still so much of the white cell activator that didn’t spread and I thought oh geez I don’t wanna leave it like that so I just started blowing and I probably spent 10 minutes blowing with a straw I couldn’t show it on the video but they were still sells to be conjured up. Yeah total surprise with this baby!
Brilliant ❤ !
Awe Thanks so much😘 Raven🧡
So beautiful outcome. Love the colorful pearls in the white background. Lovely work. ❤
Thank you so much for your support and comment Heema!💕
A beautiful piece but the informative learnings!! Thank you for sharing both 💜
Than you Kathy 💕, yeah some had to be described because you can only see and not feel what I’m doing. Glad you liked it💕
You struggled with this piece, but you hung in there and learned so much, for all of us, as you went. And what an incredible work of art it turned out to be. Be proud.
Thank you Mary Ellen!💕I almost said at the end we called a truce…which me and the piece kindof did!
Wow. All your learning created this beautiful piece ✨️ congratulations.
Thanks Betty, 💕 actually most of my learnings were during the creation!
I want a shirt saying "I went into this thing assuming things"
Love the Confetti!!!
LOL I’d make a fortune wouldn’t I?!?! Your comment means a bunch to me, thank you!!💕 I made Confetti’s dark brother yesterday that I’m naming “Profetti”, you know to be the opposite! Only one ‘con’ in the family. Thank you for visiting, watching and commenting! I love your channel, Art and creativity💕
This piece screams hello, i am full of life, color and brilliance. Splendid indeed! Love it to bits. :)
Wow, thank you so much for your exuberant comment💕glad it’s so striking!
Thx for sharing the "oops" moments, they sure help us grow! Beautifully done!
Haha, thanks! Believe me we all have bloopers!!🫠🧡💙
Oh and this is an unbelievably GORGEOUS GORGEOUS PAINTING BTW, that’s exactly why I ended up clicking on this video & BOY IM SO GLAD I DID, bc I’ve learned so much so thank you and congrats on such a beautiful painting. I love all those colors and it turned out magnificent. 🎉❤
Wow, you are so kind and I’m so happy you found something that’s helpful. In most videos I have some tidbit to share just in going through the experience, but with Confetti, I learned a bonanza to share and just let loose. So many small, unseen things affect pour painting! Thank you so much💕I’m truly grateful for your comment!💜
THANK YOU.. I wish ALL the artists would talk over the making of their work. You have so much more insight when you watch yourself. Very valuable lessons here.
Thank you Gail💕it was important for me to voice over a good bit because I learned so much during and after that needed explaining that just watching wouldn’t have conveyed. Glad you liked it!!

Hey Louise, I just LOOOOOVE that confetti painting ! Wow what a great job you did with that swiping . Beautiful outcome .🥰🥰
Thank you so much Manon 💕 I appreciate your comment and giving this a look!
Very pretty and soft, Louise! Beautiful cells! 💖
Thanks Cathy😘, I appreciate your comment and giving this a look.
Louise you never ever fail to disappoint oh my God this is one of the most stunning pieces I've ever seen those look like jewels you are the queen of the blooms I am blown away❤ just beautiful work my friend
Wow Andrea, 😘your too generous! This was soooo fun in the making, it’s like a Sheleeart blooming meets COZ swipin’ with a little ‘me’ thrown in, I’ve learned from the best. Thank you so much!💕
I love it, it is gorgeous. You are a talented lady. Thank you and God Bless.
Thank you so much Laurie, too kind💕
I absolutely LOVE this painting. It’s amazing what can be produced despite mistakes and a determination to keep going❣️
Thank you so much Alice, 💕I think my middle name is persistence!
I can certainly understand that. My middle initials are OCD. Great job❣️
@@alicerowan4688 LOL, thanks again!
Well Louise, this was amazing...I was about in the middle of the video when I realized you used the American Floetrol recipe...I was going to your description and then I do believe I heard you say it....I noticed your cell shapes being different and was wondering if I missed something and possibly you were using silicone...although I know you don't use silicone 🤣shame on me, I did get up at one point...which is probably why I missed it at first...this is absolutely stunning...beautiful...and quite the viral one video for you too...Congrat's! I always said, you were so methodical in your painting..I never saw anyone like you...and I never met anyone quite like you....I'll come knocking one day, suitcase in hand...you wait and see😘😘😘
Thank you Donna Dear! 😘Yeah, the AM Floetrol seems to give rounder cells and less lacing. I made this right after test coasters (precious video) that I’ll be resining and saw how the CA worked! And yeah, no silicone for me! Bring on you suitcase and we can paint together, do a sip and pour!
I love the confetti. The colors are wonderful!😍
Thank you so much 💕Della, I appreciate you watching and leaving your comment!
This is awesome, one of my favorites. Thanks for sharing your tips
Thanks Anita💕love to help as others have been so helpful to me!

Beautifully done ✔️
Thanks so much 🥰Colleen, I appreciate it!
This is a beautiful piece, absolutely stunning.
Thank you so much Gemma💕
Absolutely gorgeous! Thanks for the video. Definitely learned some valuable information. 👏👏👏💕
Thank you Susan💕glad it helped. Do you know when I was a kid I had a friend name Susan Miller in Wallingford Connecticut, could it possibly be you?
Thank you, we both made the same mistake today. My swipe also needed more pressure. I’m so used to not applying pressure, now I know. 👍😁
Thanks again Jeannine, 💕yeah more pressure than you think!
Thank you for all the explanations! Beautiful piece!
Thanks for watching and commenting Lizzi!💙
Great explanations of your process as you figure things out as you go. Great job on this one because you paid attention to what was happening as you worked!
Thank you Marlynda, 💕, it was definitely a learn and adjust piece!
That is so pretty and that is the perfect name for that painting
Thanks Barbara🥰I appreciate your support and comment!
You are welcome and all those cells wow
Great points! The pressure is necessary to promote the cells and lacing, along with the type of swiping tool used. Great video and results. 🖌🙂
Thanks Shannon, a lot of learnings on this guy for sure! Thanks for watching💕
Love this & the beautiful colors!
Thank you Jeannie, 💕I appreciate you giving me a look and commenting!

It’s beautiful, I wanna learn as well as you learn, all my work would be so much better! 😊
Thank you so much💕, well at first it wasn’t working, so you have to adjust!
This is so beautiful. Your advice about the acetate is very helpful thanks 😊
Thank you Cat, I’m glad you found it worthwhile!💕

This is beautiful❣️
Thank you so much Itnell💕
Beautiful❤
Thank you Debbie 💙I did this over a year and a half and now I see these popping up all over the place now with people doing them.
Awesome I love it!
Thank you so much, Brenda😘
Oh this is just beautiful! I haven't done a ghost swipe with regular paints because I know I wouldn't get nice swipes with thin paint. It looks so much easier to do with the thicker, so I am going to have to give this a try. Yours turned out beautifully!!
Thank you so much Joey, and I wish you best of luck with your creation 💕💜
@@LouiseMcKayArt Thank you!
Gorgeous!!!
Thank you!! Nancy💕I appreciate your comment!
Gorgeous!
Thank you so much Beverly!💕
this is amazing. I haven't done any 'pouring' or swiping type stuff yet, but I think this is so beautiful, I'll have to take the plunge. thank you for sharing this with us 😀
Thank you Karen 💕I'm so happy to have inspired you to put your paint to use. My biggest advice would be to start simple and paint consistency is so important, your paints should all move in unison with each other typically, but in a bloom technique where you have a pillow, paints and then CA, the pillow should be thickest, paints less thick and CA the thinnest. Not all techniques are the same and each works best with different consistencies, so definitely loop up videos on whatever technique you want to do!
thank you for this..what is CA?@@LouiseMcKayArt
@@karenferguson7662 it’s cell activator. It’s my last paint application that I swiped through the paint to get the cells in the center.
@@LouiseMcKayArt thank you...I do have some, but never got round using it-yet
Beautiful
Thanks so much RoseAnne!💜
gorgeous!
Thank you so much Sandra💕
@@LouiseMcKayArt Im going to try that soon
Very 😍 pretty.
Thank you Linda💕
Sweet
Thank you 💙💙Lisa, I love ‘Confetti’
Question, did you mix something in multipro? Looks thinner than bloom pillow.
@@padmapriyajames the pillow was a mixture, Behr Gray Flannel satin (for a little color) with a lot of PPG MultiPro eggshell 47-3110, this video was from over a year and a half ago, so if there was any difference, it’s probably because of the gray flannel color I added to it. I never add anything to my pillows, unless it’s scrap pillow, in which case I might add some water to it. But answer your question this was straight paint pillow.
Beautiful colors.
I don’t see the specifications of colors and mixes like you said on the video. Where can I look that up? Thank you
Thank you!💕 just click on the title or the down arrow to the right of the title and the description will drop down.
Use a playing card. They work great!
Hmm, never done that, maybe I have a few jokers to spare?
Gorgeous! How did it dry?
Perfectly. I was worried about being on an mdf board, but its flat and perfect. Now, what to do with it!
my canvas often flies down when I turn....🤔🤨....btw......very nice
The flying canvases, everyone’s for sure experienced that, my only suggestion is to slow down on the spin or spin more, or secure it to your spinner either with some paint on the back to make it tacky down or even small bits of tape to the sides and spinner that you could remove. Once the turntable is messy, I never have a problem, so I hope this helps. Also, thank you💕
@@LouiseMcKayArt thank's 🙋♀️
I low HS e! Han r!😊❤
Robin, not sure what you’re saying here, but it’s fun I hope!😀
