My intent is to succinctly share my latest, what I've learned, provide tips, often with some philosophy and a few nature videos sprinkled in. I usually share about three per week and try different things along the way.
The details:
Pillow paint: Recycled and strained paints thinned with some water to a 4-5 second trace consistency when dripped off the stick into the container.
My pouring medium is the usual Glidden semi gloss ultra deep base GLN6413N: Minwax Gloss
3:1 ratio to start, adjusted for consistency from there, aiming for a 2-3 second trace when mixed with paints.
I've only used substitute components to the Sheleeart Bloom Technique because I didn't have access to the Behr 8300 living in California. I think I still get good results. Once I use up my paints, I'll try the Behr 8300.

Thank you for your video, I really enjoyed watching it, beautiful work. Excellent idea to use an old CD.
Thanks Jan💙🧡, I only wish it was an original idea, but I’ve seen it done and had the cds so why not. You can also use vinyl too, lids to jars, tops to boxes and on and on I’ll be looking in to as I grow!
Wow!! Exquisite!
Thanks so much Patricia!😘

Another beauty Louise! The “blue anthrax” is very pretty 😂❤
Thanks Meg💛❤️❤️, yeah, that crazy named blue, there's another one I use in an upcoming video I literally cracked myself up on YT trying to pronounce it, I even googled 'pronunciation' if you can believe it... a few videos out from now. But yea, I'm calling it Blue Anthrax for sure!
Wow, that’s gorgeous!
Thank you so much Karen 💙🧡. My first try it o’clock, so hopefully resining and I fixing the clock mechanism will work and I’ll do lots more of these.
Beautiful! Love the colour combo.
Thank you, 🧡💙I agree da bomb!
It’s absolutely gorgeous 😍😍
Thank you so much Rosa. 💙🧡
The lacing and cells are freaking amazing amazing…Amazing… I have got to figure out how to get that accomplished… I do OK , they turn out OK ..I get some cells but not nothing like this
this is fabulous.
I don’t know if it’s because I’m not using high-end paints. I don’t know
I am going to conquer this dilemma, though I gotta figure it out.
Wow Tina! This is a blast from 10 months ago! I loved this one!! Check out my CA recipe, video 141, I swear by it and have had lots of post positive comments on it!

Thank you Anita🧡💙, but other techniques have been calling me too!
Beautifull! Did you paint this CD or put on gesso before pouring Thanks
@@tamarakrivosheiko7030 hi Tamara, I just painted directly on the CD, taped up the back though, because I ended up resining the front.
Thank you!
I noticed your paints were mixed pretty thick, compared to some others I’ve watched, do you find it easier to work with them that way?
Yes, for me, especially on blooms and swipes. For something like a deconstructed bloom, or the trees I’ve been making I actually do find it easier for the paint to be a little thinner so it blows out from the hairdryer better. But most importantly, whatever you consistencies are…the pillow, the paint, and the cell activator should all be different consistencies. The pillow thickest, paints next and ca thinnest. I have a couple videos on how I mix my cell activator and also how I mix my p.m. paints and check pillow paint, consistency, and videos 140 and 141 if you’re interested in the nitty-gritty of what I find comfortable that works for me.
Also, I am not using all of the “approved“ shall we art bloom recipe as I lived in California and could not get a hold of the Behr 8300 base 3 paint for my pouring medium. So it’s kind of nice for anyone who can’t get the ingredients for her recipe is my alternative seems to work pretty good … the products I use for the pillow, the p.m., and when I use my American cell activator recipe. No when I ever do get all of her ingredients I’m not sure how it will perform. Lol.
Hi Louise. Love these. What do you prime your CD with?
Thanks Tracy, I just use Kilz primer and actually did one without primer at all and it came out fine
How do you fill the hole in the CD?
I just taped the back. The video shows in the beginning. I’ll be assembling this weekend after I’ve resined it and get the clock parts and numbers.
Do you leave the tape on while you resin it too?
@@lakeshabell318 yes, you want the tape on especially for the resin.
@@lakeshabell318 oh, hi over here, 🙋♀️yes especially for the resin part!
