- We discover one of the most beautiful areas we’ve filmed so far in 'Roads We Ride', with the amazing Waterfall Way in Northern NSW.
Peter Dawson, an avid moto tourer, had no idea about the road until he moved to the area for work. Here, he explores this stunning road and shares what he gets out of riding Waterfall Way.

I just came from a 20-day vacation in Australia. Seeing this series of videos makes me want to go back and ride on these roads on two wheels myself. I just returned to riding after more than 20 years of hiatus and watching these videos reinforced my conviction that I made the right decision. Thank you very much for sharing.
Anyone, else feeling really good after this or is just me? Top stuff, 'Stories of Bike'!
"When you stop learning, you stop living". Really inspiring, another fantastic little movie. That was too short !
Billy ! Thanks mate. I think it's true.
That is exactly what I want to see on this Chanel, it’s why I followed it in the first place......beautiful inspirational videos about motor biking 😁
Chanel no. 5?
Such beauty in the overall video right from production to narration to the scenes shown. This makes me come back to RUclips more often and specially to channel like this. Kudos and keep it up !
The quality of editing and filming on this series is exceptional .
Best 4 minutes of my day so far... :)
We are lucky here in the Northern rivers area of northern NSW. And south east QLD. And now with summer over and things cooling down I will ride that road. Thanks mate.
Drove this road not long back with my wife and daughter. The film doesn't do it justice. Amazing greenery and depth to the gullies and hills on this road. Top speed in a car is really 80km/h, and I did spend a bit of time thinking of biking it. Can be very foggy and wet all year round too though. A must do bike trail in a state with plenty of them.
Grateful to be introduced to this channel via Baringa Private Hospital
I have been on this same road myself a number of times. I can attest to the comments in the video. It is a truly beautiful place to travel through. Great video and great story. Motorcycling is a wonderful thing.
Lovely film. ...great story! Riding a bike on roads like that make life worthwhile! Steve
I've driven this road 100's of times back in the '80's, but never on a motorbike. It was the way to Coff's from Armidale for scuba diving, the beach or just to get away from the Armidale winter. The views are almost always spectacular! When I get back it will be one of the first roads I plan to do on a bike trip. It looks like the pavement has been improved. Back then it was always quite dangerous when it was raining, as water would often flow down the road.
Another outstanding motorcycling film. Cheers.
Guys you are making beautiful movies, love to watch them! 😍 And to admit, i'm a little bit jealous as well... 😚
Once again, your stuff never disappoints. Love it!!!
MAKE MORE OF THESE - they're so good :)
Calm, peaceful and soothing! Please make more vids like these!
What a fantastic job. Traveled to Australia two years ago and visited that area in a sprinter van with my wife. I so want to do it on a motorbike. From there North the roads and scenery was amazing.
Beautiful, just keep on doing what you are doing! Thank you for being an inspiration! You should come to Greece when ever you are ready!
Fantastic scenery, great cinematography and nice bloke with a relatable story. Love it! Thanks for making these!
Love these shorts. thanks
Thanks for the video, definitely better than a Hollywood film.
Pretty awesome that you got the opportunity to promote Australia and motorcycle riding with NSW government.
NEW STUFF! Yaaaas! Beautiful!
Wonderful. I've had the opportunity to see some of the world, and the similarities of people and places never ceases to amaze me.
Love all your videos , From Dominican Republic. Really inspiring.
Well done Cam, Andrew and the team, over 41 000 views. Great work.
Excellent video, how impressive... I loved it, it couldn't be better explained, greetings from Costa Rica.
Great video Pete. It is exactly as you’ve filmed and described. Living in Sawtell, I’m only 1/2 an hour from this mountain, so am fortunate to be able ride it frequently.
I'm Sawtell also, great part of the world.
Loved it! Great to see our gear in this beautiful video.
REV'IT! Thanks, I probably could have washed it after a high speed crash last year, but it's a true testimony to the quality of your equipment, neither the gear or myself was damaged (doing about 120)
Peter i Agree 100% My Friend..... Life is too Short & you have to live it better you can !
I drove this road nearly 15 years ago. Hands down the most scenic road I've ever been on. Back then LOTR was the big thing - we kept saying to each, this looks just like The Shire. Then we got to Dorrigo and the rainforest (see the walk at 3:17), and it got even better - a crazy rollercoaster through a luscious rainforest. Coffs Harbour at the end was also a pretty good destination...
Nice riding Peter! The best way to do it... I’ll see you out there some day 👍✌️
discflight always good to watch others enjoying it. Drop by the Ambo (Dorrigo) station, see if we can organise something
Simply amazing stuff.
Great video, thanks. This is one of my favourite roads but of course I've never seen it from above before. Wonderful. Ride it mid week but not at school pick up or drop off times!

Loved it as always
Love, Love, Love.
marvelous as always , thank you
So beautiful...
Love these videos.
Wow Great Story~
Brilliant mate.
FYI: I'm pretty sure these videos are a NSW government initiative to warn motorcyclists about riding on the more popular roads. They do a lot of things to help prevent the many injuries and deaths on roads like this.
I even saw a poster in a rest room at a restaurant near the start of some very popular rides, advising how to handle multiple corners! It's a good idea to get riders to be cautious.
Phenomenal!
Ничерта по английски не понимаю, но снято здорово и потому смотрю с удовольствием все ролики.
Another fantastic SoB video
better than movies
Loved it.
Love it!
WOW just where I want to be
I go on this road every day to school in dorrigo
Lovely.....
This looks so good! Come to LA!!!
Awesome video
Aussies, please tell me your roads are not this majestic and "Roads We Ride" videos are merely editing marvels..!
Subtle Groove , sorry mate I've ridden some of those roads and it's even better
Oh yes, we have some gorgeous roads and this is most certainly one of them!
Sorry mate but this is for real. Australia has some of the best (and to be fair some fairly ordinary) roads to be found anywhere and generally not too much traffic...
This road is exactly as Pete describes it and the video shows
It a BIG country. There are many many more. Roads We Ride is a safety program by the NSW govt to soft sell safety and to be informative. Most of Australia's great motorcycling roads are on the east coast going from the coast to the hinter land and crossing the Great dividing range. The Great Dividing Range is a continuous fold mountain range which runs continuously from the Far North of Qld to southern Victoria (see any atlas).
It would be EXTREMELY argumentative to pick a best road or a best state for great motorcycling roads. The roads are not heavily policed but the authorities make up for that by heavy and somewhat draconian penalties - 40kph and you get locked up - they only ask your name and details the next morning when they give you your weet bix for breakie.
The Adelaide Hills are equally as good and Tasmania should be renamed Bikemania - its that good. In fact Tassy might get the nod because there are few towns or populations to interrupt the fun.
Other than that west of the Great Divide it is red dust and adventure bike country (with very few exceptions (to which the Sandgropers (a.k.a. W.A. will protest mightily)).
Fucking hell these are amazing videos. I don't even have a motorbike but it makes me want to get my license, buy one & explore Australia.
That's the spirit!
That’s what its all about.....
My first thought was, "But wait he is on the wrong side of the road, again." Yes of course I know that Australia and the US ride on opposite sides of the road but several times throughout that video I kept thinking man he is going to get killed riding on the wrong side of the road. Riding on whichever side of the road one is accustomed to makes seeing the opposite look very unnatural. The point of all this is the as much as I'd love to tour Australia on a motorcycle I can see me getting lost in the moment and drifting back to the right, I mean correct LOL, side of the road and getting killed.
I have heard it is easier to adapt to driving on the opposite side of the road than what you are used to. But that is driving where you are in a car and also seated on the opposite side of the vehicle. But on two wheels we have no way to really keep that straight.
But I am still thinking about it . . .
What is the name of this helmet? Brand will be enough
I think it's an O'Neal Dual Sport.
I missed you
Is this an advertisement
ThatGuyCalled ART, my story, my road. No ad.
Pete Dawson that’s how it seems lol like you’re trying to sell a holiday or something

Produced and paid for by the NSW govt.
Hey there Matey… If You continue to ride on the Wrong Side of the row-ad like that and You might just have a horrible ax...Well God 4bid... Cheers, LJR... Florida, USA
These things are too damned short.....that's the problem :)I love them though.....
I agree! Too short. Who else wants these episodes to be longer!?
In the U.S. this would usually start the immediate decline of a scenic place like this. Large groups of extremely slow riders and drivers or the other end with large groups of crazy riders and drivers. Along with a sharp rise in people stopping in bad places, trash dumped on the side, and people leaving those personal memorials everywhere.
