No excuses, no drama, no blaming others for failure, just a heart of a true champion, he come up short he took his hits and man.. that last line... "i push myself to exhaustion" you better belive this man did that and more.
Kobe handled the interview at just 24 years old as amazingly as anyone at any age could. To not make any excuses, take the L, move on and work harder.
After quitting in game 6 vs the Spurs and shooting the Lakers out of the 2004 finals
@@melvynsngltn27 How did he quit in game 6 against the Spurs? Explain. You can say that about 2006 against the Suns in game 7 but game 6 of this series???? And he got greedy in the 2004 Finals, we know but that is a lot better than quitting for sure.
@@showtimenick824 he didn't shoot after the second quarter every time the Lakers were getting beat down he quit
@@melvynsngltn27 That's a complete lie. Kobe was 3 for 12 in that second half against the Spurs. That's abysmal yeah but don't be spewing out false info that can easily be disputed on basketball reference.
@@showtimenick824 so is watching actual games
My buddies were consoling me after this loss, it hurt as a fan. But when we heard Kobe say what he said “I’ll push myself to exhaustion “ I knew we would be back. Miss that guy. There will never be another like him.
Ill never forget D Fish on the bench crying and Kobe with tears in his eyes giving that interview. I was 12 years old when this happened. I miss my childhood
I watch this video everyday. I like winning, and like to see people's happiness but seeing failure like that inspires me.
You can easily understand how frustrated he is, so angry, so emotional and pissed off. But, he still insists to workout and learn how to get better NOW, not morrow, not next week but NOW.
Kobe's life is totally an inspiration. His success, his failings, they way he bounces back from them, trying again and again.
He showed that you could master at anything if you really desire and want. Even his death, he taught me that life is short to get bogged down, as he said. He inspired me even though I do totally different things. His body could be gone but his mindset is here.
Rest easy Kobe, love and miss you.
Because you can’t make any blame the lakers got beaten by the better lakers can say if we did this an that but the fact is they didn’t they didn’t make adjustments an spurs were the most United better playing team which is why they blew them out that game
Thank you for this. Very well said.
The way Kobe's mouth twitching, never seen him like this. Holding back the tears.
I'll push myself ti exhaustion is why Kobe became an all time great.
Kobe may you and your daughter rest in peace. I know you guys are up there looking down on us smiling.
Man, I remember seeing that interview and thinking to myself, "Shaqs days in L.A were numbered." Shaq is getting more and more outta shape every passing season while this 24 year old ready to take on the World. R.I.P Kobe Bean
Yeah, let’s just ignore that Shaq had 31 points in this game and kept the Lakers close game until Duncan started flopping like a pussy in the 3rd qtr.
@@Theterminato2013 both of what you guys said is true
That Revenge was Sweet In 2008, I know they got back to the finals in 04 but 08 Kobe was one of the best I’ve ever seen a player, Kobe had a Intensity few could match if any
You mean 09?
@@francescobagatella7087I think he means 08 when they beat the spurs 4-1 in wcf
I remember this game and I remember some of the other Lakers crying but somehow I don't remember Kobe crying. For some reason the Lakers took this lost harder than any other losses.
It was fisher who cried but Kobe was close it’s because they know if they beat spurs they 4 peat that’s never been done not since bill Russ in the 60s
You don't remember the iconic picture of Kobe Bryant crying? Or are you looking away or something.
@@rgrainger91 Because you can’t make any blame the lakers got beaten by the better lakers can say if we did this an that but the fact is they didn’t they didn’t make adjustments an spurs were the most United better playing team which is why they blew them out that game
@@TheDignam yea cause they were the best team nobody thought they would lose any time soon not with a prime Shaq
@@rgrainger91Actually, Lakers were targeting Chicago bulls' records. Bulls did not make a 4 peat even if it was possible..
Loved how Kobe handled it, taking it and motivating himself to work harder, with a great vision of basketball as always
I miss this guy man
I saw this live.
If the Lakers get past San Antonio, they "4-peat".
The way they lost game 5 (on a last second miss) and how badly they were dismantled in game 6 made the end of the 3 peat more painful.
I'm glad they lost
@@TheDignam they beat the nets the year before.
Because you can’t make any blame the lakers got beaten by the better lakers can say if we did this an that but the fact is they didn’t they didn’t make adjustments an spurs were the most United better playing team which is why they blew them out that game
if shaq didnt had problem with kobe and work hard in offseason, lakers easily 10 peat.
@@Ontiming2023lakers beat the spurs in 2001, 2002, and 2004. In 4, 5, and 6 games. Do u really think the spurs did something different in 2003? I mean I’m sure u do think the spurs did something different cause you’re probably a spurs fan but Shaq not getting toe surgery immediately after 2002 and the lakers role players being injured most of this season, is pretty much the top reasons the spurs got a chip
I remember this game like it was yesterday , as a Laker fan you came to reality we were knocked off our high horse 🐎 not untouchable
Because you can’t make any blame the lakers got beaten by the better lakers can say if we did this an that but the fact is they didn’t they didn’t make adjustments an spurs were the most United better playing team which is why they blew them out that game
im a Spurs Fan since 2003 but i have a lot of Respect to KB because he is such a competitor and Kobe gives the Spurs a very Good Fight everytime they've Face each other.
Lebron would have been on a completely different team before the end of that very day!
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Can’t imagine asking Kobe. How much harder will u work like dam
It hurt them because they had got so use to not losing that they didn’t know how it felt not to be in the finals..
AS A DIE HARD LAKERS FAN. IT WAS HARD TO SEE THE LAKERS 3 YEAR RUN AS CHAMPIONS END & DEREK FISHER & KOBE BRYANT CRYING. I TIP MY HAT TO THE SPURS. LAKERS LOSE WITH CLASS.
Seeing Kobe cry and tell me hes going to push hisself to win actually sounds believeable and it was TRUE, But when I saw Joel Embid I just felt like he was being a cry baby when the 76ers lost to Toronto in the play offs a few years ago , Kobe had tears of passion Joel idk i feel like he was just being a cry baby
Be quiet
This moment in NBA history doesn't seem to get talked about alot
I was 8 years old when this happened and I cried too .. cried again when Green Bay lost to New York in the 07 NFC championship.. damn eli manning
I remember Derek fisher crying on the bench and seeing kobe cry and I started crying and my mom looked at me and said "they can't win every year" I wanted that 4-peat so bad 😂
I remember growing up watching the lakers & seeing that Tim Duncan was the best player on the floor
he was taking a shot at shaw in that interview - "the new season starts right now. ....I push myself to exhaustion" those were towards shaw
Kobe finally wanted that finals mvp it really got to him
The Additions of Manu, Stephen Jackson and Parker tipped the scales.
The previous years, the Spurs backcourt just didn’t have enough talent to compete.
This has to be the greatest upset in NBA playoff history
Clean fuckin win. I still remember it like yesterday. I remember the commentators being surprised by the score and the time that was left. It was like they weren't paying attention. I wasn't either. I was SHOOK.
first interview was with the losing team -
Kobe Bryant crying is priceless
24 year old MAN
And? What you trying to say
Second rip kobe💛💜
Did he just said "Tim Bunken" at 2:03?
I think so😂😂😂
Third Rip Kobe 💛💜
I'm surprised Kobe didn't cry when they lost in the 2004 Finals
So how did Tim do in the game? Oh he had 37 points and 16 rebounds. Wait...What?
Next season starts right not!!!!!
Los Angeles Lakers
Never Give Up
That was the last time they beat Kobe in the playoffs. And the last time Kobe lost a series on his home floor. So who had the better career? 😊
Tim

Exactly he doesn’t get the credit he deserves.
When basketball was real.

then ... 2004 Detroit 🏆
And then they got beaten by Detroit in the finals the very next season
After beating the Spurs
And then he won two more rings to make 5

Can someone explain why they were crying, I understand that he lost but Kobe doesn’t strike me as the person who cries after a loss
Cause they lost after their 3-peat, so it’s the first time losing a playoff series in 3 years
@@immrlonelyihavenobody4176 I get that but I think there might’ve been another reason we don’t know about
@@applycontext9161 nah that’s pretty much the reason. Winners hate losing.
@@applycontext9161 game 5 was also a tough loss. They should’ve been up 3-2 coming home. Robert Horry’s three rimmed in and out
I also believe this was the year the scandals and rumors about Kobe and Shaq started coming out. So It was a lot of off the court issues happening too piled alongside losing
Meanwhile modern NBA stars make a drama by saying might contemplate retirement smh
and yet haters like you say kobe is better than lebron.
spurs swept la lakers super team in 1999.
4-2 in 2003.
another one in 2006.
yet miami heat beat this team in the nba finals 2013.
Think it’s kinda rude to interview a player after a significant playoff elimination imo
Naw it’s just how great he was and it was on Lakers home court that Lakers 3 peat run was as big as the Jordan bulls run this was for 4 so I get the interview by Jim Gray
come look at this leblame
I don’t want to hear any more about Lebron crying because this video right here show Kobe crying
After almost 4 peating 😂
Ok, but Kobe wasn't really crying. There is no problem with Lebron crying at all, but typical Lebron fans have to tear down Kobe in order to prop up Lebron. Tearing up and sobbing are two different things, and Kobe was still cold blooded as hell in this clip. His voice didn't shake at all, and you can't see a tear on his cheeks.
@@donavonhoward1899 I like Kobe and Lebron
Dr Phil who brought you.this was all politics
And people talk about Lebron crying but they want to sweep this under the rug
When did Kobe cry? I don't recall him crying at all in this clip. Is he emotional, sure, he should be. The Spurs had just ended a 3-peat Lakers run. Why wouldn't someone be emotional. Unlike Lebron, Kobe wasn't sobbing, and crying like a baby.
I didn't pass the like I should instead I was a ball hog like always said kobe!
Lol, you know nothing about Kobe if you think he was a ball hog. Maybe you should go back and actually watch the series, not highlight reels, but full games. Kobe passed the ball a lot, but it just so happens that the goal for the Lakers was to get the ball into Kobe's hands, especially late in the shot clock.
Wtf? Stick to being a cheerleader. Like he said you no nothing about basketball
There is no crying in basketball 😂! Go Spurs go to 5 titles!
Bro what
🤣 derrik fisher crying like a little bish on the bench was awesome to watch
