While the prevalence of excessive verbiage of a diverse type, using disparate expressions to communicate ones deliberations, could indicate high verbal intelligence and most certainly correlate with an extensive vocabulary, it is not proof thereof. It is rather more likely to reveal an inability to succinctly convey information. Now I am not trying to imply that Banderoll Canterhatch isn't smart nor that he is a bad speaker, but that the method of surveying intellect implied by your comment, which you by the way communicated quite effectively without being long-winded, isn't ideal.

I think what he may have meant by "Sherlock's curly hair" was that he didn't like the lenght of it mixed with the style along with the curls. His hair right now isn't "Sherlock's curly hair" it has a different style and lenght. And I also remember Sherlock to be wearing a greyish black coat, and not a brown jacket and a redish purpleish sweater.
