    Winterland. This chapter is the coldest of them all. It is a testimony of us trying to push ourselves to create things we didn’t think we would be able to. Winter can be a symbol of isolation, solitude, harshness and dormancy, but also sublime beauty, magic and resilience. While others would normally get warm inside during long winter nights, we decided to explore and create. Creating in the cold is a whole different type of experience that brings particular challenges. More than ever we need to rely on our years of experience and our preparation to make quick decisions and create the best images we can with the minutes we have at hand. Time is limited not by the usual constraints of the blue hour, but mostly by cold temperature and the limitations it imposes on our bodies & minds. Needless to say that losing dexterity when manipulating small objects is a real challenge. Nonetheless, that whole process stimulates us to get stronger and more adaptable both physically & psychologically.

    Magical, as Kim said. You both bring such passion and dedication to your work, it's magical. I know the places where this video was shot, seeing it every sunny day, but you changed these places magically, and I'll never see them again as ordinary, winter or summer! Kuddos! I'm dreaming in white now hehe

    Thanks so much Kim and Eric ..thAt clear most up..you mentioned “guarantee it’s not a flashlight issue”.. I have a bright flashlight .. I use a light on each side (unlike you only have one ), because the brightest I can get is f2.8 on 100 iso.: I noticed your recommendation for start of blue hour you had f8? My light simply isn’t bright enough ..? I’ll get one you recommended? Also with one light like you use even with cap on top tube isn’t lit enough even at f2.8 ? I’m hoping after buying new kit the new tubes I get fro you pick up flashlight better..? Your site mentions I can buy with flashlight or without? If I get one with flashlight … is that the brighter flashlight and dose it fit proper on tube with clip? Which flashlight power and price item spec is the flashlight included.:: thanks guys for clearing it up… I just want to light up one successful shot for a 90 year old pals mom ! Th you

    • @Ericpare
      @Ericpare  2 года назад +1

      hehe ;)
      you need 2000 lumens (and a MilkyWhite tube) to shoot earlier during the blue hour (with 2sec, f13, iso100 settings). But you already saw my chart with the settings later that night. You don't need more than 300 lumens to make this work. Especially when you work with the stars late at night (50 lumens). The flashlight that I'm using these days is the Klarus xt2cr pro ;)

      @@Ericpare thks Eric- Just ordered tube kit , from seattle (Antonio) It says 6 weeks=- I assume maybe less times since we are starting with basic 2 tube kit!-I originally wrote down all the flashlight recommended in old post, but those were from 1 and 2/3 years ago- I think the Klarus xt2cr pro might be better? We are hoping the tubes pick up light in the middle as before only the tops were lit up and middle went dark?-I hoping the stronger lights and your tubes have aspecial reflective quality inside tube? Thanks so much!

      @@seattledude6277 hi, yeah you're receive them in much less than 6 weeks ;) Klarus xt2cr-pro is your best bet at this point. Use the glow cap on top, you'll how bright that is ;)

    Hello Eric and Kim! These new ones are so magical like usual ! I am going to buy a kit- I wanted to know if the 2020 kit is still for sale (one on recent site)- with just milky white,orange and purple with caps and extensions? ALSO, is there a recommendable replacement to the NItecore MT22C that is dimmable for late night low output? That one is Discontinued? I bought a few tubes a few years ago from you guys, and only tried like two times! I bought my own flashlight and Atomic Beam and it wasn't very bright- I actually put flashlights on on each end to make it brightest- I still barely get F2.8-I wrote down the FOLOMOV and kight Warrior Mini! Price isnt an issue, just crossing my fingers I can get a bright F stop beam? I like early blue hour best! I used to do these type with shop lights around 15 years ago!, (I would plug a shop light with a daylight balance tube from dept store, and long extension cord, and shoot at night by studio or electricity, and trace light! It worked great, but was limited ,and not portable?- Also with battery LED those work - BUT ,when i saw you guys wonderful work 3 years ago, with your brilliant tube flashlight. I was so impressed! I JUST HAVENT GOT BRIGHT ENOUGH RESULTS AND hope your kind suggestions work to buy these! Alternative dimmable for super low is still needed?? I was thinking about slight tracing paper in front to dim it, if there is no alternative? ? I will order soon my two kits from you guys-just waiting to hear back>! LAST question, If i want it sent to Seattle USA, do you have an idea what the extra shipping or in country customs fee might be? (ballpark)----I know you guys send a lot of them, and wondering if you have an idea? I fear it will be double price as kits? haha- Have no clue? thks again for any help and great posts and advice. Sincerely Michael

      hiiiiiiiiii :::))
      The current kits are available here: lightpainting.store/collections/light-painting-tubes-kits
      MT22c: no replacement yet. This is super annoying :( ... what I'm doing these days is to add tape on top of the flashlight to block part of the light
      About your images being not bright enough, I guarantee that this is not a flashlight problem. You really need to balance between the brightness of the flashlight and the camera settings: lightpaintingtubes.com/news/camera-settings-for-tube-light-painting-tutorial
      about the shipping price: this is based on your address and products you chose. You'll get the price at checkout time on the store. If I recall correctly, there are no import taxes for USA for orders below 500$ (more details here: lightpainting.store/faq)
