- Mark tries to outrageously walk 100,000 steps in a day, not because he's a masochist but because he likes to test his limits.

The moment he said ‘break’ i said “OH NO…”
As someone who ran marathons, you never want to stop.
I'm curious. Is there a reason for this? Why does it happen?
@@imgonnagetyelledat I don’t have the science know how of why it happens, but the way i see it, stopping gives your body time to assess what happened and sorta puts your body into recovery mode.
@@Hollyclown okay thanks
@@Hollyclown so basically all your adrenaline just disappears?
@@imgonnagetyelledat my middle school gym teacher said it had something to do with the heart. Stopping abruptly and laying down or sitting immediately allows the heart rate to drop suddenly which is then harder to rise again. If the heart rate doesn't rise, blood won't get enough oxygen to the muscles needed for physical activity or something. This would make it harder to move around at the pace you did before.
I'm not sure how true it is, but it does make some sense.
Reminds me of when I did leg exercises for the first time after high school. I went too hard and woke up with legs that woudn't function. At the very least it gave me a decent tricep and shoulder workout just from having to pick myself off the floor so many times.
Same thing happened to me, leg day is something you have to consciously weight and reps for (starting out smaller than you think if you don't normally exercise or walk a lot at your job), if you don't then the next day is wheelchair day
Yeah my legs were all wobbly after doing squats for the first time in ninth grade
Same but arms for me in 9th grade. 98 lbs and lifting weights for the first time.
Weights: High School
Reps: 3 of 20
Arms: Jello
Pain: Epic
Soft, melty jello. For threeeee days.
bro in highschool i did weight training and after the first day after one class, my whole body was screaming. I had to drink some muscle relaxant just so i could go to sleep and stop twitching.
“I’m Ocrinaplays the Boneless! I WILL NOT DIE HERE!”
They yelled as they were crawling to the kitchen.
I've never done a marathon or nothin but I've walked a lot of long distances where the final quarter especially was just hell on earth, and yeah in my experience the only way to actually make it to the end is to convince yourself walking is the only option you have. No slowing and sure as hell no stopping, because the moment you sit down you ain't getting back up. The only thing to do is to just take breaks out of the equation, block off that part of your brain, and resign yourself to one step at a time.
I've had similar experiences when hiking. I'd reach the summit of a hill, take in the view, sit down and then realise my legs have turned to jelly and I can't get back up.
Yes. I'm a streak runner and part of the reason I'm able to jog everyday is because I do all my jogging in one session. 30 minutes, no breaks or rests.
I'll go for a walk around the neighborhood, and holy hell, getting to the turn around (cause we live about a mile from a culdesac) feels like the worst thing ever. But walking back always takes half as long, it seems.
@@mlhx9181 my dad and I had that all the way hiking down from the mountain. We were basically trying not to have our legs wobble out from under us and never stopping because we knew, the next time we sat up we wouldnt be able to get up again for the next two hours hahaha
I do forget that stopping is an option sometimes and it does get me in some minor trouble.
WHY IS THIS SO UNDERRATED ITS SO GOOD?? YOUR ANIMATION/ART IS AMAZING!💞💞💞💞
thank you so much! worked super hard on it, it's tough to get the word out :')
She's just started uploading, it doesn't count as underrated.
@@deadd9046 thanks for informing me 🤠
@@thelonefox1015 no problem, people on the internet used the word "underrated" too much😂
Big agree
I also learned the hard way to never take a break in the middle of your torture when I worked 8 hour shifts as a cashier. The 15 minutes of sitting only made the next 4 hours more painful.
Right! it seemed to make time slow down too. Like what was speeding by before break was moving at a snails pace after. Then you just beg the gods to let you go home.
Why does a cashier need to stand?
@@anxiousearth680 because retail work is a poorly disguised rube goldberg machine of cruel and unusual punishment, and soul crushing emotional abuse to the point that satan took a page out of it's book to make hell worse.
@@anxiousearth680 I say this in the nicest way possible, but where are you from? Because, unfortunately, in the US, it's "the norm" for cashiers to stand the entire time...
@@anxiousearth680 unless you work at a place like the German owned grocery store Aldi standing is the norm in America. Unless you have a desk job of some kind. Very normal for any retail
That’s a bit under 70 steps a minute in case anyone was curious. But that also means walking 24 hours straight. 139 steps a minute assuming you want this done in 12 hours, and 105 steps per minute if you walk every second of the day, with exactly 8 hours of sleep. Just in case anyone thought about trying it.
I never thought of walking 100000 steps per say, but I have thought about walking for 24 hours straight (I didn't/don't care how many steps that would be;) just to see if I could.
I can manage 110 steps a minute, but there's no way I could maintain that for 24 hours, lmao
And keep in mind, those are averages because you will have to stop occasionally for things like going to the bathroom or handling a hot pan while cooking
@@ravendevino6419 and now think of the people who compleat the selfe-transendence race, wich makes you go 3100 miles (4,989 km) in 52 days, whit the fastest one being only 40 days and 9 hours.
Thanks for the info
I won’t
This has old Game Grumps animations energy.
This is so amazing! You’re incredible!
❤️❤️
And this is why I hate when we have to have breaks when hiking.
No, I've come to far, I feel good right now. If I stop, everything will crumble and I won't be able to go the rest of the way. 😭
This is why I do standing rests. If I sit, I don't get up again, but if I stand still, I can recover while staying ready.
@@chadnorris8257 Thanks for the tip. I'll try it out the next time I go hiking with my family
I enjoyed the one time I went hiking with my family, but I had to sit down occasionally because I didn't have insoles for my shoes and because of my unusual weight distribution my feet literally hurt if I walked too long and then kept standing. Getting back up was difficult, but I would just shove myself off the bench/ground because 14 year old me didn't want to get left behind. It wasn't a bad trip at all and the scenery was totally worth it, but next time I hike anywhere I am getting insoles lol
@@chadnorris8257 Same applies to the gear you're carrying. Don't take it off unless you reached your destination or you need to take a piss and can't do so with the gear on. Otherwise your shoulders and back will start hurting and that makes it harder to get going again.
@@Amayawolf_01 100% Insoles and proper footwear are mandatory when walking/standing for long periods of time. I also learned the hard way that you don't want your backpack to be loose at all, you want it to be secured to your back as tight as you can get it. If it's loose and the load is at all heavy, your back will start killing you. I had a loose backpack once for almost 20km during a march and it got to the point where I had to take a half an hour break just laying down and letting my back rest, afterwards it hit me, I fixed the issue and I will NEVER make that mistake ever again.
This is amazing!! I’m surprised you have such a small amount of subscribers considering your talent!
My job is literally just walking for 8 hours with only an hour's worth of breaks and I get around 20k every day, so the fact that Mark got 70k is scary impressive to me
What is your job?
That's practically impossible. 20K steps don't match with 8 hours. 8 hours would be around 50K steps.
@@TheDanishGuyReviews What on Earth are you talking about
@@TheDanishGuyReviews There is no lower bound on how slow someone can walk. Also, they said 8 hours _with an hour's worth of breaks._
I did the math and there are only 86,400 seconds in a day, so he needed to do more than 1 step a second for 24 hours.... it's impressive he even made it to 70,000.
Also, you deserve way more subs. +1
[Fair warning, I am a huge nerd]
Well, on average we walk at about *two* steps per second, so he could get to 86,400 in nearly 12 hours.
At this rate, he could reach 100k in ~13.89 hours (13hr 53min).
However, he was going faster. If he was moving at three steps per second, 50% faster, then 100k steps takes about 9.26 hours (9hr 16min). Still, an incredibly long time to walk.
At this faster rate, the 70k mark would be placed at 6.48 hours (6hr 29min).
Mark has some serious dedication, but maybe, just maybe, he’s also a masochist?
@@jaydhd_lmnop You're talking to a math major. Nerd your heart out. :) But yes he is. And he even admitted it. ruclips.net/video/UDNLtUqHzaM/видео.html
@@jaydhd_lmnop Mark is a great guy, really, but he's just stupid sometimes. This was a moment that he didn't have someone to go against his really stupid idea and say, "No you dumbass."
@@jaydhd_lmnop A masochist? Nah, couldn't be...
@@jaydhd_lmnop That is most absurd, sire. Mark is no masochist.
"When you do something stupid enough, your body decides that it's time for the stupid to go away. And it shuts you down, mid-stupid."
Am I the only one who actually wishes that MORE people had the ability to shut down Mid-Stupid???
It's certainly a lot better than going Full-Stupid! 🙃
"I'm going to send this drunk text to my ex and- oop, drain is stopping me mid stupid."
Wow! Your animating style is so cute and charming! Brilliantly done!
Your*
@@Periwinkleaccount :) Oh wow! You're right! Oops! Thank you for pointing that out.
happened to me once. went overboard on the knee bends. took a break. my legs stopped working. i could stand if i pulled myself up and kept my legs straight, but whenever i bent my knees hoo boy. it's like the part that keeps you upright stopped working for a time. went to bed. woke up at 2am hungry. decided i'd slowly get to the kitchen, hanging on stuff as i go. got to the kitchen, bent my knees ever so slightly, and I fell. hard. lucky i didnt hit anything on the way down. i laid there for like, 10 minutes. just. defeated. i eventually got back up, cooked my meal, then went back to bed.
I remember many years ago playing a Boxing game on xbox kinect with friends and Family. I was absolutely nailing it, I was the raining champion I was in such a winning streak high I didn’t register my bodies own exhaustion and later that night, a stabbing, BURNING Pain unlike anything I had felt to that point radiated in my arms and I couldn’t move them. I thought “I’m going to die like this” I eventually got over it but I never pushed it like that ever again
The one thing they always told me doing cross country was to never lie down after running for so long (or in my case walking) I guess now I know why they said not to do that 😅
That's why, when I used to run track, my coach would never let us sit down until the end of practice. We had to stand, even if we were exhausted, so that the lactic acid wouldn't build up in our leg muscles.
This is Awesome!
Super well made!!!
You really stepped it up for this one
You’re literally the best!!
❤️❤️
I love it!!!
Thanks Keegan!!
The "You're stupider than you try to become." line always gets me.
THIS IS SO UNDERRATED OMG
I LOVE YOUR ART STYLE SM !!!
👏🏼👏🏼 fantastic work!
This is why you should warm up before stopping, to avoid muscle cramps or the feeling of not being able to feel ur leg, I'm not a profesional about this, it's just I just did some _research_ online, so yea
THIS IS AMAZING!!!! You’re style is so cute! Subscribed!! I’m definitely supporting you:D
Dude this is amazing! I first saw this on your tik tok when it was just a short clip! And then I see the progress with the rough sketches on the other half of the vid and now I finally get to see the final animation! Amazing work my dude!
This needs more attention because this is so amazing
I loved this! Your style is so cool, I hope to see more from you soon! (And I'm so happy you did this one)
This animation plus the editing is perfect. You made the perfect summarization of the video and added your own style to it. I love it
This is really good. Love that you use the same font Mark uses in his videos. The pacing is great and the words you popped in were comedically on point. The movement feels fluid and the expressions are so good. Thank for making this great video
This deserves a LOT more views!!! This is amazing!!
Mark broke he's own mind doing this lol.
Duuuude! Sick! I've watched this video so many times, I'm glad you made this :)
Ugh. Makes me remember when I had cheerleading in college.
The coach made us practice everyday and even until the day before the competition.
Instead of getting a good night’s rest we practiced till past midnight. Went home and then practiced again morning ON THE DAY OF THE COMPETITION.
Because the tournament starts on the afternoon.
I had to swallow so many painkillers because every part of my body hurts. And this is all even before our turn to perform.
As soon as I went back home, the pain came back *TENFOLD* I cannot sleep properly because of it.
Ultimately, that made me swear off joining cheerleading for next year. I’m not going through all that shit again.
god, we used to do the same thing over here with band- practice until 10pm, wake up at 6 the next morning to do it all over again. i did it all 4 years of highschool and genuinely am surprised my liver works after all of that painkiller.
Brilliantly summarized the source material so that the animation is entertaining and still informative 👏 Well done!
The quiet lil' "boo-womp" from spongebob when the muscles just dont muscle xD
Your animating style is super cute! I love this!!

I think I remember seeing this on your IG (If I remembered itcorrectly) and I was amazed on how you did it! It's absolutely amazing!! 💖💖💖💖
"and my leg stopped... working"
pewds : "and i took that personally"
Nice art style, mostly smooth animation, and its on markiplier (my fav youtuber) I LOVE IT!!!!!
Quick Math:
The average human stride is something like 2 feet. Which makes 100,000 steps == 200,000 feet, at least == almost 38 miles == like 1.4 marathons
That means that at 70,000 steps, Mark just about ran a marathon. I'm amazed he made it that far.
Great First Video, some of the best animations I have ever seen. Can't wait to see if you make more.
YOOOO your animations need more hype!! The color palettes and movement were so in sync and tidy and professional! A+++ my human
