This animator was the first person that I've ever seen who scaled Mark and Bob properly instead of making them the same size... to the point where it's actually weird to see it like this.

I mean yeah... that sounds about like your typical pair of college roomates. We live off rammen noodles which is the equivalent of human dogfood and develop muscle at a terrifying rate. People say fuck around and find out. But because being an adult involves you learning stuff, it's in fact more like life advice at that point.
Imagine my surprise when I, a new college freshman, learn not only did Markiplier go to the same college as me, but lived in the same dorm as well. There is a not zero chance that I sleep on the same bed or bedframe that Markiplier did.

As a person who lived in a dorm exclusively with engineers, this whole situation, including them using plastic clothes hangers and the bed being a foot from the ceiling is completely something that would happen

As a recent college graduate, I can say, without a doubt, that this is exactly the kind of logic to expect out of two, intelligent, creative individuals. Brain for book? Yes. Brain for put bed together? No. No. All brain go to book, none left for build.

You can really tell that Bob and Mark have been friends for a LONG time because Bob’s impression of Mark is so on point. Even down to the inflections.
The absolute best part of this story: nothing ever goes wrong. Even after this, when they’re talking about how the guy upstairs was getting it on all the time and Mark practically had his nose in the sex, like the mighty Atlas, that plastic pin never falters or breaks.
The next time this channel wins an award or whatever they need to thank that plastic pin.

What’s very funny is most beds like this, all you actually have to do is flip it over and place the mattress on the other side to make it “lower”
The problem is that the legs of the bed that were on the bottom won't be able to fit since the length of the bed to the roof is very small

Being employed as an engineer for 10 years, and having a Bachelors in mechanical engineering, most of the commentary makes me believe most people don't know any engineers. This sounds exactly like an engineer.
Mabey I'm just born an engineer or something cause I thought this was the normal logical solution that he did 😂 cause I have replaced plastic pins on something with metal from cut up sewing needles (the pegs that hold the kickstand in my tablet broke) I heated the ends up and stook them in the spot where the pegs were and it's stronger than before but the point is I just immediately was able to come up with that which I find really confusing like where did it come from how did I know to do that ????

As a college freshman in engineering, can confirm: a plastic hanger will *definitely* hold up an entire bed and the human on top of it with frequent use for long hours at a time *just like* a metal pin. I'm definitely not questioning how still he had to be up there to not shatter that whole hanger like a prehistoric femur.
By far the best thing about Mark and Bob’s relationship is how Mark keeps messing around when Bob is saying something serious which makes the two comedy gold.

Oh my god literally my first year in uni I lived in a dorm and didn’t get a nightstand so I used a cardboard box some of my stuff came in form home. When I videoed my mother for the first time she was like “you’re gonna spill something on it or it’s just gonna smush” and while I did spill tea and water on it multiple times it was still perfect. I used it in my next year’s move and started using it as my nightstand in the next place (student housing has a serious nightstand deficiency y’all), but when mom saw it she ordered an actual nightstand from ikea with delivery, so I couldn’t refuse it 😂
But that's what you do when you're in college and think you're immortal still. You may live to learn you're NOT immortal, just immoral though if you're lucky.

I love how they instantly started feeding off of each other's chaotic energy, and the fact Bob was able to perfectly quote Mark so well to the point I had no hesitation in believing this was an exact quote and how things went down speaks volumes on how close they are and how well they know each other.
Bob is an amazing story teller. It's detailed and descriptive enough to paint a picture and be funny, but not drawn out and boring.
Can I just say, I love that they've got Mark's flat straight mullet just perfect for the era.

As someone who also went to school for engineering, this is *entirely* on brand for engineering students: the ability to improvise solutions and jury-rig shit together with minimal preparation, and a total disregard for common sense.
Also you tend not to learn about things like "stress" or "tensile strength" until your second year.

I really appreciate how Mark has always 1000% been the Mark we know and love, even in his college years. This entire story has Mark shenanigans written all over it. And every single thing that Bob described Mark doing or saying made me think "Yep.... that sounds about right."
When I look back on it, I think Mark just mellowed out a LOT. Like, he still has the same goofy ideas from over 10 years ago, he's just older and a little calmer.

I remember that I and my older brother had our own separate bedframes, but when moving out of my grandmother's house to my mother's own house me, my older brother and younger brother all shared a room. So, to make more space, my mother opted to bunk my bed and my older brother's bed.
This was a simple enough operation, they were the same design, big thicc wood legs going up to a halfass headboard that ended up forming a ladder pretty naturally. I was all for it, and kinda excited to see if I got the top bunk. Went up to my mother all like "DO I HAVE TOP BUNK????" And she was like "yeah, whatever." and I'm like "YEAAAH!" and climbed up that bed up to the top bunk... and wait a minute... that was my older brother's plushies. And his blanket. And pillowcase, and sheets... and... you know what? Forget it, just gonna take it all off and get my stuff up from the lower bunk. BECAUSE THE TOP BUNK IS MINE DAMN IT!

Lmao I love that I IMMEDIATELY knew where this was going. I was an RA in college and I had multiple residents who I found mid-bunking or other dangerous furniture “hacks” that could’ve been done same-day by just telling me so I could get maintenance. I love this.
