Spent a long time making this one but I feel like the effort will shine through, with that being said this is my attempt to pitch a Green Lantern saga for DC, one with a scale similar to that of Star Wars, with all the amazing mythology and lore that Green Lantern has to offer. EDIT: I have no idea how this slipped my mind, but I noticed I never said who I'd cast as Carol in the casting section, for those that couldn't pick the face its Allison Brie.
Thank you for this Mitch. I am a big fan of Green Lantern and Geoff John's run and how much potential it has cinematically. Thank you for proving how great this character is, especially if was treated with true love and ambition behind it. Like you said, hopefully one day we will see this dream come into fluetion but until then I'm just happy that there people like you who love this character and their lore as much as I do. BTW I never would have thought your casting for Carol Ferris to be Allison Brie, but I can still see it working (I loved her in Community). Personally I would cast Nina Dobrev as my Carol Ferris/Star Sapphire.
This is awesome, Mitch. I’d love to see more of these videos in the future. Maybe one for The Batman’s sequel along with the Arkham and Penguin HBO Max shows? Think about it 😁
Honestly I think DC need to give you the keys to green lantern and run with it. I really want to do a deep dive into green lantern. Any suggestions for s reading list?
Are you gonna do anymore dc films after Superman and GL I think you could try Wonder Woman and Flash and maybe Batman before saying what you would do for a JL
A Green Lantern film saga on the level of Star Wars sounds like an amazing idea. It should take full advantage of the fact that the Green Lantern Corps protect all planets, not just Earth. You could worldbuild and craft an interesting lore. I would love to see Sinestro's transition into becoming a Yellow Lantern be a slow and tragic story.
Very much like Anakin's slow descent into joining the Dark Side of the Force and becoming Darth Vader, I would very much like to see Sinestro losing himself towards creating the Sinestro Corps and the Yellow Lanterns of Fear, whereas in this case we don't necessarily feel sympathy for him but flesh his character out to understand his journey and provide nuance to his motivations, much like the Sinestro in the Green Lantern: First Flight animated film, doing a great job with his character.
It would be so awesome if you made Sinestro Hal’s mentor and, much like Anakin, Sinestro was an accomplished GL with a secret and devastating fear. “Sinestro, the Qwardians are evil!” “From my point of view the Guardians are evil!”
I love the idea of the Blackest Night, an ultimate antithesis to all the emotional spectrum that can only be defeated by a unity of its entirety, all colors uniting into the ultimate avatar of life, all light in its purest form. I think that is awesome, but I really do not like how Blackest Night is actually depicted, it almost just feels the writers wanted an excuse to make a massive zombie apocalypse story. In my imaginary DCU, the Blackest Night is also the final crisis, with Darkseid’s antilife being the same force of darkness first embodied by Nekron. This would just make so much more sense to me, with the power of darkness that is the opposite of the light of the lanterns stripping people of all light and emotion whatsoever rather than reanimating corpses of heroes for some reason, and it would lead to a single apocalyptic battle where the green lantern saga joins the rest of the DC universe.
That would be awsome concept. In fact, a suggestion, instead of Black Hand, Darkseid could be the avatar of Nekron, with him being the one who manipulates the event to cause the Blackest Night, expecting to obtain ther power of Anti-Life but instead Nekron is the one who turns Darkseid into his zombie, giving the villain a ironic ending: Darkseid went all this way wanting a power that would allow him to enslave the whole universe, only for he end up as slave pf this power as well.
@@zemox2534 I don't see Black Hand being used since he is silver age earth villain and GL movies will probably take place in Space. It would more easy to replace him with one of GL aliens villains, like Scar or Krona, with either one of them manipulating the guardians and setting up the events that will lead to the Blackest Night.
YES YES YES!! To all of this! There are only a couple of tweaks I would make. (1). Hal's character. I love Geoff Johns' GL but his Hal quickly became flanderised. Sure he's brave, a man of action but never recklessly so. He's cool and confident but not cocky or arrogant. So the inspiration for Hal's character should come from Green Lantern The Animated Series. This Hal is very much the modern Johns type Hal but in his purest form and with a bit more nuance. He's charismatic, sometimes hot-headed, a plans when necessary but heck-plans-fail-a-lot-of-the-time-anyway-so-let's-just-get-to-it type. BUT he's competent, he can back up his bravado with results (and not just from willing harder but by using his head), he admits his mistakes/faults and tries to fix them, and he listens and learns. (2). Establish the GL Corps as something other than a police force (at first). Make them the largest, most well organised team of superheroes in the galaxy (something akin to the Legion of Superheroes) but they operate adjacent to planetary or system governments, often working alongside local forces rather than being THE police force. Oh, and that they do way more than just fight bad guys; humanitarian aid, disaster relief, diplomatic and scientific missions/escorts, etc. Only across the events of the movies does the GL Corps become more of a police force, more militaristic as more and more systems give into fear and rage, calling for the GL Corps to keep them safe against threats they couldn't hope to beat. The Manhunters, Atrocitus and the Red Lanterns, Sinestro and his Corps. (3). Put the focus back on Courage being the GLs source of power. The WILL to act in either the absence of or in spite of fear. In fact, each of the colours could be expanded on to add to the layered and thematic storytelling you have in mind. RED: war, chaos, fury, rage, warrior’s spirit, devilish ORANGE: ambition, greed, growth, strength, appetite for life, pursuit of the body YELLOW: power, energy, ability to exercise dominion over others (subjects feel fear), scientific logic (order), dictatorial GREEN: courage, pursuit of fair justice, balance, life, resolve BLUE: hope, faith, goodwill, idealistic, visionaries INDIGO: empathy, intellect, knowledge, ability to see trough, understanding, pursuit of the mind VIOLET: love, magic, passion, mystic, arcane
About number 1, while I agree with how you described Jordan and think he learning from his mistakes should be something that he learns in the first film. He could start brash, impulsive and come off a bit arrogant for the people, but, as the movie develops it could be revealed that he doesn't do this because of arrogance nor pride, but rather because he tries to ignore his biggest fear, of failing and letting other people down. By the end of the movie, he comes to accept his flaws, learning from his experience and overcome his fear, becoming a much more wise and experient lantern.
I’ve definitely tried to broaden my definitions of the emotional spectrum. I actually don’t necessarily think of it as being neatly divided into seven distinct categories and more as, well, a spectrum, with the primary colors as bases. Red is passion, yellow is fear, and blue is hope. Pure red passion without anything else to focus it takes the form of anger and hatred. When mixed with the yellow of fear, that passion is focused by that fear, becomes a form of ambition, a desperate, even covetous drive to achieve something based in that fear. Straight yellow fear can only be harnessed by embracing and becoming that fear, as none of the emotional powers can be used if given into, but must be embraced and channeled constructively, so the only way to control the pure yellow of fear without the passion to focus it into a goal is to become that fear and weaponize it. The blue of hope is a faith and a belief in a better future than gives power to persevere and overcome. When mixed with yellow, it gives the strength to accept and overcome one’s fears and become stronger as a result. This resulting strength the Guardians believed to be the best attribute that would enable lanterns to be the strongest warriors. When given passion, the blue of hope becomes a force for good, using faith and compassion to strive to better the world. And when that passion is given just a bit of that selfless compassion, it becomes a passionate form of love. I don’t think this is a perfect way of breaking down and thinking of the emotional spectrum, but I like the approach.
Sinestro and Hal having a “training day” styled movie where Hal realizes how corrupt Sinestro is over time would be really cool. He tries to warn the Guardians but they dismiss him since Sinestro is a respected lantern only for Hal to wind up saving the day.
I can really see this concept for a Green Lantern saga working well in the same universe as The Batman. I can see Batman and this Green Lantern working very well together in a Justice League film that would most likely take place after the second one of these Green Lantern movies and after a third Batman movie, so that Batman knows how to work alone and prefers it and Green Lantern has just had to fight his partner and is afraid to work as a team again.
In my honest opinion a massively successful Green Lantern movie done right would be as big as Star Wars and Harry Potter. The world building, the lore the emotional spectrums and politics all the villains and green lanterns So much potential.
For a Green Lantern movie trilogy I want the villains to be: 1st: Manhunters 2nd: Atrocitus and the Red Lanterns 3rd: Sinestro And explore all of the Lantern Corps.
00:45 I understand that feeling. For me it was Batman, Fantastic Four and a bit of Superman and Spider-Man. And you can already guess which ones haven’t had the greatest of adaptations on the big screen...
Suspicious lack of Green Lantern TAS clips here :) I recommend watching it, probably secretly one of the best DC show ever made. Premise is Hal, Kilowog, and two other people going on a star trek like journey while a central narrative unfolding in the back. One of the greatest implementation of the episodic format ever. Sad to see it cancelled back in the days alongside young justice.
@@thesuperframeHi ,I know it's a year later but I'm kinda curious why you didn't include Jessica Cruz and Simon Baz in your cast ,I don't have much to say about Simon because he always was my least favourite human lantern but I think Jessica deserve to be in the movies ,her story about fear and her insecurities was always great and also being a yellow lantern for a bit (still pissed dc left that storyline) and showing that power of fear can also be used for good also had a great potential,so if you would answer why you didn't include them It would be great
Warner Bros doesn't have the balls to do half of all that. They are too afraid to take risks, afraid to let go of Batman for a while, afraid of critics, and especially afraid of not making a billion dollars at the box office. If by some miracle they decide to pull off a big project like this, the first thing that gets mixed reactions will already be a reason to cancel everything and hide Green Lantern forever.
100% agree about using Star Wars as the main inspiration. In fact my idea for GL films would also be made of six films separate in two trilogies, one focusing on Hal and Sinestro friendship and how this two become enemies (very similar to Obi Wan and Anakin), while the second would build up the Blackest Night, and show the other Lantern coming together to battle Nekron, with Sinestro having his redemption (much like Darth Vader in OT trilogy). As for the films, my pitch for each of them would be this: 1st movie - GREEN LANTERN BRIGHTEST DAY It would be a buddy cop/space adventure showing Hal joining the GL corps and being trained by Sinestro, becoming his partner and the two developing a respect for each other . The villain would be Krona (with the Manhunters as his henchmen) who wants revenge against the Guardians for banish him after trying to achive his dream of watching the “beginning of the universe”(which according the Guardians could result in the destruction of everthing). Krona would also work as dark mirror reflection of Hal Jordan, since they are both arrogant have problem authority and difficult to accept loss. The difference is that, unlike Krona, Hal, during the film, as he learns more about the ring, and what means to be Green Lantern, would come to accept failure and loss and learn from these experiences rather than ignore 2nd movie -GREEN LANTERN CLASH WITH LOVE Much like Spiderman 2, it would showcase Hal dealing with the consequences of his responsabilites as space cop and how affects his relationship on Earth with Carol. The villains would be the Zamorans, who kidnapp Carol and turn her into the leader of the Star Sapphires. Their duty would be similar to the GL Corps, however the Sapphires brainwash to criminals to turn the “good”, causing a moral conflict with the GL Corps. This movie is when Sinestro shows his dark side, wanting to kill Carol in order to set a exemple to the Star Sapphires, creating tension between him and Hal, who wants to save the girl he loves. In the end, Sinestro would leave the GL Corps, but not before stealing a weapon from the manhunters: a spear with yellow Crystal capable of negate the power of the ring. The post credit scene would have Sinestro looking at the Crystal and starting to hear a voice coming from it, seeing in it’s reflection the face of monster bug, with yellow eyes and sinister smile with sharp teeths. The creature is Parallax and would ask if Sinestro would like to have him as a “new partner” 3rd movie - GREEN LANTERN WAR OF THE CORPS It would be a adaptation of “Sinestro Corp War” with Sinestro using the yellow crytals to create his own Corp and beginning his war against the Green lanterns, saying that they are weak and uncapable of doing what is necessary to keep order in the universe. To make things worse, Sinestro Corp has the advantage that the GL rings cannot use lethal force, which allows them to attack the heroes in OA and break Parallax free from the Great Battery. The entity would try to possess Hal, but, due to his great will power, Parallax would decide to possess Killowog, making Hal see another friend of him being corrupt by evil. The film would also introduce John Stewart, who would become Hal’s partner and help him deal with the betrayal of his old friend. At first Hal wouldn’t want John as partner, not wanting to go though the same trauma again, but eventually, he comes to accept John and the two become friends. After the guardians had reprogramed their rings to allow them to use lethal force, the GL corps would have their final battle against Sinestro and his followers in Mogo, defeating the villains and preventing Parallax from possess the living planet. Hal would visit Sinestro and the prision and the two would have final dialogue, with Sinestro saying that al he did was to help the Lanterns to become more powerful and now that they can use lethal force, the GL corps will truly be a symbol of fear and respect in the universe. 4th movie - GREEN LANTERN RED RAGE The villains would be Attrocitus and the Red Lanterns who would interrupt Sinestro trial and want to kill him because of his crimes. Hal would have to join John and the new recruits (including Guy Gardner) to save his enemy. In this adventure, Hal would also have the help of Saint Walker, a mysterious blue lantern who would have a special interest in Hal. In the end, Hal and his friends are able to defeat the Red Lanterns, but Sinestro would escape. To make things worse, the guardians freak out when they learn about Saint Walker, making the lanterns start to realize that Sinestro and Attrocius might be have a point: The guardians can’t be fully trusted and they are keeping a huge secret from the lanterns. 5th movie - GREEN LANTERN THE PROPHECY It would have the introduction of Blue Lantern Corps, with Saint Walker and the Guardian Ganthet trying to recruit Hal Jordan, revealing the Guardians’s secret: The prophecy of the Blackest Night and how they want to eliminate the other Lantern Corps in order to prevent this event. The villain would be Lartfleeze, who the guardians contact and convince to attack the Blue Lanterns, expecting that both sides will kill each other. Going against their orders, Hal and his friends would help Saint Walker and the others defeat Lartfleeze, causing the Guardians to punish them by banishing Hal from the GL corps, giving his ring to Sinestro (who lost his position as leader of Sinestro Corps to his daughter Soranik). The post credit scene would have Ganthet going to Earth and recruting a new member for the Blue Lantern Corps: Kyle Rayner. 6th movie - GREEN LANTERN BLACKEST NIGHT It would be a adaptation of Blackest Night, with the guardians being betrayed by the guardian Scar who is actually possessed by Krona, who survived his last battle thanks to help of Nekron, the avatar of Death. With the power of the Black Lanterns, Krona wants to cause a cosmic genocide, not longer having the desire to see the birth of the universe but rather be the one who cause “the death and rebirth of the universe” So the movie would have Hal Jordan having to team up with Sinestro, Kyle Rayner and Indigo-1, to assemble all the Lantern Corps, so together they can summon the legendary White Lantern and use it’s power to destroy Nekron and Krona once and for all. This film would have finish Sinestro arc, with him, in the end, sacrificing himself in order to protect Soranik, saving his daughter life. Before dying he and Hal would have one last dialogue, in which Sinestro tells Hal that they will always be friends.
God, it makes me so happy to see people like yourself and Mitch (SUPER FRAME) share the same passion and love for this character and their mytho's as much as myself, and the vast potential of it all is just so heart warming to see, as whenever I tell a friend of mine that I like the character of Green Lantern I am just constantly ridiculed and teased about (all in good fun luckily). So just seeing how your full pitch for a saga as well as SUPER FRAME's I just overwhelmed that there are still people out there who like the character of Green Lantern and their the mytho's/lore. I have also written a saga pitch for a Green Lantern franchise, also being a six filmed saga and includes two tv shows, one of which will be a fun animated show about Dex-starr and Ch'p. I'm even working on writing my own take on the DCEU with castings, theme's as well.
@@milkiassamuel780 Thanks due. It's cool to see other fans who also love to make pitches for adaptations. Your ideas ideas also sound cool, spcially focusing on other lanterns besides the Earthlings, like Ch'p (one my favorite non earth green lanterns, alongside Arisia and Sodam Yat)
@@milkiassamuel780 "'Im even working on writing my own take on the DCEU with castings, theme's as well." To quote Burt Ward , Holy Coincidence! I'm also working on a pich for a reboot DCEU, in which the phase 1 would be The Batman 2 Duo Superman a better tomorrow Flash Fastest Man Alive Wonder Woman Journey Begin Aquaman King of Seas Superman & Batman Green Lantern In Brightest day Justice League Origin Since my idea for the first GL trilogy would end with adaptation of Sinestro Corp War, I would already start teasing it in the phase 2, since my idea for Justice League sequel is to have the Legion of Doom as villains, with one of their members being Scarecrow using a yellow ring.
@@alexandrefrauches132 Thanks. Your plan alone is incredible and I would love to see something like this for a GL film franchise, I would also include the idea of a HBO Max show focusing on various members of the GL Corps and not just the Earth Green Lanterns but also on new and original Green Lanterns we have never seen before and others we can explore such as Kilowog, Tomar Rae, Salaak, Arisa, Katma Tu etc..., something very similar to the character exploration and world building in the Star Wars Clone Wars cartoon (however I am still undecided on whether I would want it to be a live-action show or an animated show). Another show I would have is a fun animated, limited series, buddy cop show including Dex-starr, Ch'p and Mogo mainly because I find all these characters quite unique and interesting, and the uncanny idea of a show surrounding a cat, a squirrel and living planet just seems so bizarre and hilarious not to pass up the opportunity to see it, especially since characters like Dex-starr have surprisingly tragic origin stories. BTW who would some of your castings be for your Green Lantern film franchise, specifically character's like Hal Jordan, John Stewart, Carol Ferris, Sinestro, Kilowog etc... Here's my casting for these characters specifically: *Josh Bowman as Hal Jordan* (I originally wanted to choose someone like James Marsden or Ashton Kutcher, but decided to experiment with an unknown actor that could do a good job) *Wayne T. Carr or Trevante Rhodes as John Stewart* (Wayne T. Carr deserves another chance to truly show what he can do in the role) *Nina Dobrev as Carol Ferris* *Luke Evans as Sinestro* (frankly this is just a perfect choice in my opinion) *Kevin Michael Richardson or Brad Garrett as Kilowog*
@@milkiassamuel780 My fancast for the GL movies would be 1st movie Hal Jordan - Alden Ehrenreich Carol Ferris - Charlotte Hope Sinestro - Luke Evans (agreed, perfect choice) Killowog - Kevin Michael Richardson (Already voice him in the GL series so let's keep doing it) Arisia - Chloë Grace Moretz Ganthet - Michael Gambon Sayd - Maggie Smith Scar - Gleen Close Krona - Hugo Weaving 3nd movie John Stewart - Mustafa Shakir 4th movie Guy Gardner - Alan Ritchson Soranik - Peyton Roi List Saint Walker - Doug Jones Atrocitus - Jonathan Adams Zilius Zox - Josh Gad 5th movie Lartfleeze - Nicolas Cage Kyle Rayner - Gianni DeCenzo (by the time Kyle is introduce, Gianni would already be in his late 20 and early 30's) 6th movie Indigo 1 - Jodie Turner-Smith
as a GL fan, i love what you did here. as much you have going on i think this concept works much better as a series....very expensive series, but a great one none the less. in a series you really get to unpackage all the running arcs that i believe would be hard to do in film. again....the series will be expensive but could be the best series DC ever produced if done right.
I thought the same, why have a show and series of films instead of just a single series if you’re not going to explore particular other parts of the universe, other than to have something to see in theaters.
I love green lantern, and I series would be great, but the character and the world needs to be shown on the big screen, you can obviously make changes to fit it for a movie, but the prestige around a movie is more desirable.
eh I think it's best to have both, a series to run along with the movies. Since the movies only focus on Hal Jordan and the War Of Light arc, the show is what would have to 'unpackage all the running arcs hard to do in film'. And again- budget.
@@buddyxiwill So it's like if we had something like the 2nd The Clone Wars series in the style of The Mandalorian running alongside the release of Star Wars Episodes II and III and tying more directly to the films (NVM, I just described a better version of Agents of Shield).
This is awesome, I hope you do one for Wonder Woman or something like the Flash. While I do know that Batman may be overused, I think you bring in really brilliant ideas on how these characters could be adapted on screen.
Now you got me watching the Green Lantern animated series lol. I really enjoyed your take on this project. Hoping we get an epic Green Lantern series in the future.
May I recommend Glen Powell as Hal Jordan. Watch him in Top Gun: Maverick and Hidden Figures. Powell has the look. He has the charisma. He's in the right age range to lead a six film franchise over a decade. He's a rising star but doesn't have a career defining role under his belt yet. He has everything we need for Hal Jordan.
Holy shit, man, I love this video, you blew this pitch out of the park. I'd love to see your idea of a Green Lantern franchise come to life. I'm really hoping that if they try to do another DC Cinematic Universe, they use your ideas for Superman and Green Lantern have it be connected to The Batman franchise. I love the idea of a cinematic universe where the movies themselves are all self-contained, with no crossovers or references to other heroes within solo movies, yet are technically connected by crossover films like Justice League or Teen Titans. Batman would never mention Superman in his movies, almost as if Superman doesn't exist and same for Superman movies with Batman, that way the creators of the movies can choose to do whatever they want without having to connect or even acknowledge the larger universe. Then, when it comes time for a Justice League film, all the characters come from their various individualized franchises and we get the epic team up people have been waiting for. Moreover, I'd love to see every heroes' franchise be almost completely different from one another. The main two major problems with the MCU is that it's too connected (I don't need Dr. Strange in a Spider-Man movie), and every movie feels tonally the same. That's where I feel like your universe could pave the way. Matt Reeves Batman franchise would be gritty, dark, thrilling, and comic accurate. The Green Lantern franchise would be epic, operatic space operas with loads of depth boiling just beneath the surface. The Superman franchise would be hopeful, bright, and wholesome. Every hero's individual franchise would feel COMPLETELY different, and would be completely self-contained. Overall, from what I've seen of your ideas so far, that's the kind of universe I'd like to see unfold. Anyways, great job on the Green Lantern pitch, by god do I want to see these films.
The Green Lantern and your Superman videos are definitely my favourite of yours! The great editing, the interesting pitches (Green Lantern being a saga is exactly what this part of the DC Universe needs) and casting, all great! You mentioned that Flash was one of your other favourite hero so It'd be cool to see what your take on him your version of the DC Universe would be and how you'd implement characters like Jay and Wally Once again great video and I can't wait for more :)
Just imagine the scale and potential of GL constructs imitating popular culture, for example Kyle forges a a construct of a Star Wars space ship or a lightsaber etc. stuff like that It would be a great cheer from the crowd and just something the audience would love. Obviously don’t stretch it too much it should not be ready player one level but it would definitely be fan service and stuff.
@@ernestomiloli8414 I mean, I would definitely not say the MCU pleases the Marvel Comics fans. The masses sure. My take on GL, hopes to unite both as fans. __"actual story "__ eh I must've missed out then, the only well written/well told mcu film I've seen is The Winter Soldier.
Dude u are way way too underrates I swear, you are so professional when it comes to these videos and u understand these characters more than any other RUclipsr I’ve watched. You should be head of WB like Fr
Here’s an idea: the Manhunters could’ve been created as the Guardians first attempts at an intergalactic police force. Maybe to defeat the reach or some other alien species. But eventually they saw emotion as a weakness and turned on the beings they were designed to protect. Eventually killing millions in a galaxy now known as the Forgotten zone.
Green Lantern First Flight is a good example of a Green Lantern movie done right. it gets looked over just because it's an animated movie or "cartoon". but that was a great film. Good story. Really good characters. It really made you invested into the characters on an emotional level.
I honestly think GL should be a buddy cop series, but if not I would make each Green Lantern movie showcase each of main three ( first movie Hal, second movie John, 3rd movie Guy/Kyle) with the newer GLs in the background, until maybe after 3, they make a GL Corp movie showcasing them all. Maybe we get the evil Hal Jordan within the series where he was driven mad due to Coast City; so he can be the final boss, seeing he's a parallel of Sinestro and the greatest GL turned evil, literally Injustice before Injustice.
Just imagine if WB dose this and connects it to the Batman and they can also do a superman trilogy ultimately ending up to be a justice league film witch can introduce the flash, auqaman and Wonder Woman, the potential of a DCEU is crazy.
We have a good batman now all we need is a hood green lanter and flash and this might help make a good dc cinematic universe to topple or go against mcu
Ever since I saw Solo in 2018, I've thought that Alden Ehrenreich would be a perfect Hal Jordan. The way that he acted in that movie just seemed like Hal jumping off the page. He's also fairly young at 32, and fits the general description of Hal in the comics.
1. Set it in fucking space. 2. Take advantage of the fact that you got an entire catalogue of amazing alien supporting cast and use them well. 3. Do not bring in fucking Guggenheim. 4. Use multiple leads-Hal, John, Guy, Kyle,Simon, Jessica, even Alan Scott since he has ties to the starheart and the guardians.
I think a character the first trilogy should build up would be Laira. Introduce her in the first movie as someone extremely skilled with the lantern ring, training Hal in how to use constructs. Dedicate a few episodes of the tv show to her and her planet and her family. And by the third movie, her planet is whipped out, but not because of the red lanterns, but because of a battle between the green and red lanterns, the guardians essentially using her home as a battleground(albeit unintentionally.) this would cause her to abandon the corps and become a red lantern as we follow her as our eyes into how the red lanterns came to be and why their rage might be justified.
The Lantern Corps is the greatest super hero concept in all of fiction. I'd love more (good) Green Lantern Movies, especially if they include the other Corps. Also, BTW, which Green Lantern TV series is that at 2:36? Never seen that one before.
Hal Geordan being a test pilot who goes through an arc where he learns to humble himself and channel his emotions immediately made me think of Maverick in Top Gun.
One of the most beautiful moments from the Green Lantern comics came in the form of an exchange between Hal and Sinestro. Hal Jordan: "Were we ever truly friends?" Sinestro: "That's the tragedy of it all, Hal. We'll always be friends."
I love your vision for the Green Lantern Cinematic Saga. If I ever win the Lottery I will personally Produce your films with you. It was an amazing video to watch. Thank you for making it.
"I see through the lies of the guardians. I do not fear fear itself like you do. I have brought peace, freedom, justice and security to my new sector." "Your new sector?"
Your idea for a Green Lantern movie saga you're awesome in Star Wars form it's been a Green Lantern movie saga franchise it's been a success you're really cool making a Green Lantern saga of the 6 movies would have been well done your idea is great
The Flash & GL are my two favorite DC Heros and it sucks to see DC/WB treat them so bad sometimes. What made me a fan of GL was when i watched that 3d animated series last year during the pandemic so good & so fun. And cause of that show it got me to watch the rest of the DC animated series stewart was so cool but hal is still my fav rn lol
I just hope that when they make the Green Lantern Series (HBO Max) I just hope that the uniforms are more unique like Guy Gardner, or John Stewart. Hell I would even like Kilowog's Design from the Animated Series! There's so much creativity you can do with the designs!!
This. This is what I wanted. It just epic to imagine the SCALE of how epic this would be. Even a third trilogy could expand the aftermath of Blackest Night and show new things from the comics that wasnt on the movies. What if Hal Jordan Parallax? Invisible Spectrum? Theres so much to do, specially due how the mythos are still been expanded to this day, with a great example of the Gold Lantern Corps. I never realized the parallels with Star Wars tho, and tbh I really think Star Wars is a big mess of a Saga, if a Saga like that could pull put somethinf CONSISTENT, I would cry of happiness.
Talking about finding an unknown actor for Hal Jordan, what about Glen Powell? He played a pilot in Top Gun and his role in that movie really shows he would make for an interesting Hal Jordan.
I wonder where the first movie would pick up the story. Does it being with Hal getting the ring, or has he had the ring for a while? One idea I had is that the opening action scene could be Atrositus attacking William Hand and Hal (and maybe Sinestro) saving him. Also, what about a show set on earth? It could be about Simon Baz and Jessica Cruz. If done right, these characters can be really good.
I would like you to stop being the best producer possible for these movies because they make me want these movies WAY too much. All jokes aside I would love a video about how to make a good flash movie. Maybe after we see how the upcoming Flash movie deals with Barry and what it means to be The Flash plus Speedforce stuff. It seems more like the movie is just trying to hook people with what marvel is doing with multiverse stuff which is fine because that had always been DC’s thing in the comics. But I would love an actual Flash movie not just made for a reboot.
Release dates: 1. Green Lantern - 2027 2. Green Lantern: Sinestro Corp War - 2029 3. Green Lantern: Rage of the Red Lanterns - 2031 4. Green Lantern: Agent Orange - 2033 5. Green Lantern: The First Lantern - 2035 6. Green Lantern: Blackest Night - 2037 Also Alden Ehrenreich would be a better Hal in my opinion
I feel like blackest night should be a bit of a 2 parter/ 2.5 parter with 1 movie being the rise of the black lanterns, 2 being the battle against them and leading into brightest day
One solid part of the Green lantern mythology is that while Sinestro is Peak Machiavelli, Hal Jordan is Anti-Machiavelli. Call Jordan is basically the idea of a man fighting the American way, for his Anti-Machiavellian ways. Sinestro is ISTJ (Shadow of the ESTP according to Carl Jungs's 4 sides analytics) Hal is ESTP (shadow of the istj according to Carl Jung's 4 sides analytics) This isn't just them in the comics, but the perfect opportunity to explore the characters from the blackest to brightest of souls. Green lantern first flight stumbled onto a really brilliant idea. Green lantern universe meets the theme of the movie training day with denzel. That's the perfect start to the green lantern saga.
something i find interesting about this is specifically with larfleeze, when you say this is the story of characters choosing rage or hope or greed, larfleeze specifically didn't get that choice because the lantern filled him with greed and the desire for material gain, thus removing his choice in the matter because he never made the active choice to wield the lantern, the lantern made the choice for him
probably already know this but there a new animated green lantern movie (green lantern :beware my power) coming out and seeing as your a massive green lantern fan i wouldn't mind seeing a review on the channel ,keep up the great work.
This is a really interesting video, I'm learning a lot. Prior to your videos on Green Lantern, all I really knew about the character and Corps was the terrible 2011 film and the Injustice 2 game. While the game is clearly superior, it wasn't solely focused on the Lantern characters, which meant the context behind these characters wasn't really addressed. This video covers so much of that.
Green Lantern has always been one of my favorites. Hell my wedding ring in the Green Lantern ring (comic, not the movie one) The scale, the powers, the possibilities are limitless.
I just wanted to say thank you for all the amazing videos you make and also to ask if you're ever gonna make a video on a Flash trilogy, yes there is gonna be a flash movie coming out, but I don't think it will be as good as something that this channel can come up with.
Hey man. I just wanted to come on here and say that i'm hoping to one day become an animator or writter for either Adult Swim of for DC movies (having a few ideas for some), and your content has really inspired me to keep at it and pressure it with how well you do your writing, structure, and simply know what you're doing with these characters and thier source. Keep up what you do, cause you're awesome!
Green lantern corp is more like star fleet
God this is already amazing
More like universe building
I agree 👍👍👍
It would be so awesome if you made Sinestro Hal’s mentor and, much like Anakin, Sinestro was an accomplished GL with a secret and devastating fear.
“Sinestro, the Qwardians are evil!”
“From my point of view the Guardians are evil!”
No. Darkseid is bloody overexposed enough as it is! Black Hand is hardly ever used and frankly since he is a GL rogue it makes more sense to use him.
RED: war, chaos, fury, rage, warrior’s spirit, devilish
ORANGE: ambition, greed, growth, strength, appetite for life, pursuit of the body
YELLOW: power, energy, ability to exercise dominion over others (subjects feel fear), scientific logic (order), dictatorial
GREEN: courage, pursuit of fair justice, balance, life, resolve
BLUE: hope, faith, goodwill, idealistic, visionaries
INDIGO: empathy, intellect, knowledge, ability to see trough, understanding, pursuit of the mind
VIOLET: love, magic, passion, mystic, arcane
So like that awesome animated GL movie?
Sinestro: "Darkseid ain't got shit on me."
That is a fucking amazing idea and way better than this RUclipsr’s capitalist propaganda film.
@@anubusx At least Sinestro tries to justify his reasons
@@filmsagainstempires1388 Grow up.
Irrfan Khan passed away a couple years ago. RIP. Loved him in Life of Pi
In my honest opinion a massively successful Green Lantern movie done right would be as big as Star Wars and Harry Potter.
The world building, the lore the emotional spectrums and politics all the villains and green lanterns
So much potential.
And the people who would be behind this are Greg Berlanti and Marc Guggenheim...
It's never gonna happen
RIP Irrfan Kahn 🕊
For a Green Lantern movie trilogy I want the villains to be:
1st: Manhunters
2nd: Atrocitus and the Red Lanterns
3rd: Sinestro
And explore all of the Lantern Corps.
00:45
I understand that feeling. For me it was Batman, Fantastic Four and a bit of Superman and Spider-Man.
And you can already guess which ones haven’t had the greatest of adaptations on the big screen...
Green Lantern: First Flight and Green Lantern: TAS are pretty epic, ngl.
Suspicious lack of Green Lantern TAS clips here :)
I recommend watching it, probably secretly one of the best DC show ever made.
Premise is Hal, Kilowog, and two other people going on a star trek like journey while a central narrative unfolding in the back. One of the greatest implementation of the episodic format ever. Sad to see it cancelled back in the days alongside young justice.
Check my channel I have a review of the series. I’ve seen it.
As for the films, my pitch for each of them would be this:
1st movie - GREEN LANTERN BRIGHTEST DAY
It would be a buddy cop/space adventure showing Hal joining the GL corps and being trained by Sinestro, becoming his partner and the two developing a respect for each other .
The difference is that, unlike Krona, Hal, during the film, as he learns more about the ring, and what means to be Green Lantern, would come to accept failure and loss and learn from these experiences rather than ignore
2nd movie -GREEN LANTERN CLASH WITH LOVE
Much like Spiderman 2, it would showcase Hal dealing with the consequences of his responsabilites as space cop and how affects his relationship on Earth with Carol.
The creature is Parallax and would ask if Sinestro would like to have him as a “new partner”
3rd movie - GREEN LANTERN WAR OF THE CORPS
It would be a adaptation of “Sinestro Corp War” with Sinestro using the yellow crytals to create his own Corp and beginning his war against the Green lanterns, saying that they are weak and uncapable of doing what is necessary to keep order in the universe.
4th movie - GREEN LANTERN RED RAGE
The villains would be Attrocitus and the Red Lanterns who would interrupt Sinestro trial and want to kill him because of his crimes.
5th movie - GREEN LANTERN THE PROPHECY
It would have the introduction of Blue Lantern Corps, with Saint Walker and the Guardian Ganthet trying to recruit Hal Jordan, revealing the Guardians’s secret: The prophecy of the Blackest Night and how they want to eliminate the other Lantern Corps in order to prevent this event.
6th movie - GREEN LANTERN BLACKEST NIGHT
It would be a adaptation of Blackest Night, with the guardians being betrayed by the guardian Scar who is actually possessed by Krona, who survived his last battle thanks to help of Nekron, the avatar of Death. With the power of the Black Lanterns, Krona wants to cause a cosmic genocide, not longer having the desire to see the birth of the universe but rather be the one who cause “the death and rebirth of the universe”
So the movie would have Hal Jordan having to team up with Sinestro, Kyle Rayner and Indigo-1, to assemble all the Lantern Corps, so together they can summon the legendary White Lantern and use it’s power to destroy Nekron and Krona once and for all.
@@milkiassamuel780 "'Im even working on writing my own take on the DCEU with castings, theme's as well."

The Batman 2 Duo
Superman a better tomorrow
Flash Fastest Man Alive
Wonder Woman Journey Begin
Aquaman King of Seas
Superman & Batman
Green Lantern In Brightest day
Justice League Origin
Since my idea for the first GL trilogy would end with adaptation of Sinestro Corp War, I would already start teasing it in the phase 2, since my idea for Justice League sequel is to have the Legion of Doom as villains, with one of their members being Scarecrow using a yellow ring.
Here's my casting for these characters specifically:
*Josh Bowman as Hal Jordan* (I originally wanted to choose someone like James Marsden or Ashton Kutcher, but decided to experiment with an unknown actor that could do a good job)
*Wayne T. Carr or Trevante Rhodes as John Stewart* (Wayne T. Carr deserves another chance to truly show what he can do in the role)
*Nina Dobrev as Carol Ferris*
*Luke Evans as Sinestro* (frankly this is just a perfect choice in my opinion)
*Kevin Michael Richardson or Brad Garrett as Kilowog*
@@milkiassamuel780 My fancast for the GL movies would be

For what is worth, I love your cast and ideas for Green Lantern.
as a GL fan, i love what you did here.
as much you have going on i think this concept works much better as a series....very expensive series, but a great one none the less.
in a series you really get to unpackage all the running arcs that i believe would be hard to do in film.
again....the series will be expensive but could be the best series DC ever produced if done right.
$10 million USD per episode
eh I think it's best to have both, a series to run along with the movies.
As a Green Lantern fan this truly makes me believe that perhaps green lantern can have a good movie series. Like the video.
Now you got me watching the Green Lantern animated series lol. I really enjoyed your take on this project. Hoping we get an epic Green Lantern series in the future.
It's really good
Sorry to inform you but Irfan Khan passed away in 2020.
No, not Powell.
This vid needs to blow up
Holy shit, man, I love this video, you blew this pitch out of the park.
So much potential for this character
The Green Lantern and your Superman videos are definitely my favourite of yours! The great editing, the interesting pitches (Green Lantern being a saga is exactly what this part of the DC Universe needs) and casting, all great! You mentioned that Flash was one of your other favourite hero so It'd be cool to see what your take on him your version of the DC Universe would be and how you'd implement characters like Jay and Wally
Once again great video and I can't wait for more :)
Just imagine the scale and potential of GL constructs imitating popular culture, for example Kyle forges a a construct of a Star Wars space ship or a lightsaber etc. stuff like that

This is really the best idea I ever heard for a Green Lantern saga of movies. Great video!
Hood Green lantern lol
I would cast Alden Ehenreich as Hal because I loved his performance as Han in Solo
This is like the youtube video I always wanted and I couldn't have picked a better channel to cover it.
Ever since I saw Solo in 2018, I've thought that Alden Ehrenreich would be a perfect Hal Jordan. The way that he acted in that movie just seemed like Hal jumping off the page. He's also fairly young at 32, and fits the general description of Hal in the comics.
Funny how you show Captain Kirk there as I thought Chris Pine would be the perfect Hal since Star Trek. Hal is basically Superhero Captain Kirk lol

Your 2nd Green Lantern film sounds like my favourite Lantern film of the saga
Incredible! Mind blowing how professional and well put together your content is! Love this and you
Hal Geordan being a test pilot who goes through an arc where he learns to humble himself and channel his emotions immediately made me think of Maverick in Top Gun.
This is brilliant DC take notes
This is your best video yet, I absolutely love the ideas you put in here. I really wish you working with DC, because this would be beyond epic.
Great ideas! We just need a director who loves the characters and lore as much as us. And I think Razer would be a good addition
One of the most beautiful moments from the Green Lantern comics came in the form of an exchange between Hal and Sinestro.
Hal Jordan: "Were we ever truly friends?"
Sinestro: "That's the tragedy of it all, Hal. We'll always be friends."
In which comic it was?
@@alienus9092 Green Lantern New 52 Volume 3 I believe.
This was a great pitch but I wish Simon Baz and Jessica Cruz were included in it.
I reckon you should do Flash next
I love your vision for the Green Lantern Cinematic Saga. If I ever win the Lottery I will personally Produce your films with you. It was an amazing video to watch. Thank you for making it.
"I see through the lies of the guardians. I do not fear fear itself like you do. I have brought peace, freedom, justice and security to my new sector."
"Your new sector?"
Warner Bros better be taken some notes
Green Lantern Corps has the potential to be the next Star Wars and it’s sad that Warner brothers DC didn’t have this idea
I just hope that when they make the Green Lantern Series (HBO Max) I just hope that the uniforms are more unique like Guy Gardner, or John Stewart. Hell I would even like Kilowog's Design from the Animated Series! There's so much creativity you can do with the designs!!
I think they should use his origin from Justice League: New Frontier. It would definitely work as a fear that Hal can overcome.
He played a pilot in Top Gun and his role in that movie really shows he would make for an interesting Hal Jordan.
i feel like timing of how movies are released and how universes are built is forgotten with these
OMG....why doesn't someone just get in contact with you...this is brilliant!!!
Irfan Khan already passed away 2 years ago
Been waiting for this video for so long, the wait was definitely worth it.
DC has many creative directors to put Green Lantern series/movies in a great level
But I would love an actual Flash movie not just made for a reboot.
your videos honestly inspire me so much, keep up the great content! can’t wait to see all the future instalments of this 6 series ‘movie’!
I’m glad seeing you get the views you deserve bro🤙
Release dates:
1. Green Lantern - 2027
2. Green Lantern: Sinestro Corp War - 2029
3. Green Lantern: Rage of the Red Lanterns - 2031
4. Green Lantern: Agent Orange - 2033
5. Green Lantern: The First Lantern - 2035
6. Green Lantern: Blackest Night - 2037
Also Alden Ehrenreich would be a better Hal in my opinion
His heads too weird
I feel like blackest night should be a bit of a 2 parter/ 2.5 parter with 1 movie being the rise of the black lanterns, 2 being the battle against them and leading into brightest day
Yes that is what The Green Lantern Movie should be like for The DCMU!!!!!
Why doesn't DC have a "shame" ring? Sounds perfect for a Green Lantern film
One solid part of the Green lantern mythology is that while Sinestro is Peak Machiavelli, Hal Jordan is Anti-Machiavelli.
Call Jordan is basically the idea of a man fighting the American way, for his Anti-Machiavellian ways.
Sinestro is ISTJ (Shadow of the ESTP according to Carl Jungs's 4 sides analytics)
Hal is ESTP (shadow of the istj according to Carl Jung's 4 sides analytics)
This isn't just them in the comics, but the perfect opportunity to explore the characters from the blackest to brightest of souls. Light against the shadows that hide amongst countless souls.
Interestingly enough, the ISTJ is the most common of the types and known as the gold standard of both neurotypicals and machiavellianists.
Let us not wait even more. Green Lantern is long overdue its re-entrance, he's my 2nd favorite Comic book character after Shazam.
Green lantern first flight stumbled onto a really brilliant idea. Green lantern universe meets the theme of the movie training day with denzel. That's the perfect start to the green lantern saga.
Irrfan Khan passed away in 2020.
Incredible casting but, you should have looked at it.
Everyone always casts Jensen called as Batman but I hope he gets cast as Hal instead.
something i find interesting about this is specifically with larfleeze, when you say this is the story of characters choosing rage or hope or greed, larfleeze specifically didn't get that choice because the lantern filled him with greed and the desire for material gain, thus removing his choice in the matter because he never made the active choice to wield the lantern, the lantern made the choice for him
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO THIS SERIES ABOUT THE FLASH !!!!!!!
This video was sick
Also what was the banger at the end
The whole punching each other thing is cool, but wasn’t one of green lanterns powers that he had a force field around him?
Green lantern can easily be the star wars of this generation, plz dc needs to do this
This is super cool thanks for painting this picture. Brings me hope for the future of films
Good to bring Kevin back as Kilowag. he's just such a good actor and fit.
I was going to skip the earlier video but... ill go watch it and come back haha
Wow this is fantastic.
The guy who plays Tommy Egan in power would be the perfect Guy Gardner
probably already know this but there a new animated green lantern movie (green lantern :beware my power) coming out and seeing as your a massive green lantern fan i wouldn't mind seeing a review on the channel ,keep up the great work.
This video deserves million of views
i really hope that warner bros uses the first green lantern movie as a basis on what NOT to do for the newest incarnation of green lantern
Thank you for the video. The Green Lantern is about will power the value and power of our Will .
I would kill to see Jensen Akles as Hal in a movie
Green Lantern has always been one of my favorites. Hell my wedding ring in the Green Lantern ring (comic, not the movie one) The scale, the powers, the possibilities are limitless.
Well done sir well done!!
9:54 I feel obligated to point out that sadly, he died two years before this video came out.....
