  • You may have noticed your memory getting worse over the past year and a half - there could be a very good reason for that, in this video I show what this could be and how it links to mental health issues such as anxiety, depersonalisation, maladaptive daydreaming and more.
Anything expressed in this video is my own personal opinion based on my own experiences and should not be used as a replacement for professional therapy/medical help or advice. Please use your own discernment and personal judgement and seek medical help from a doctor or mental health professional.

This issue has made my life terrible for 4 years. I just can't do anything else. What my mind wants is to listen music and fantasize and this even cause anxiety which makes it worse and people don't understand what you feel and they just ignore it. It's hard to take even small decisions due to all these anxiety you get on that decision. I try to quit music but my mind wants it so bad that i have to listen to it, it's like music has now become like an addiction to me. I just want to be normal again where I don't have to worry about what happens in future but just work hard on my present.

I’ve been struggling with these issues for years (especially maladaptive daydreaming and anxiety🤦🏻‍♀️). To the point where they trigger my epileptic seizures.. your videos have really helped me adequately understand and address them in a way that therapy hasn’t been able to do. Thank you ♥️.

I suffer from depersonalisation, so this is really great to hear. I was worried that there was something else wrong with my memory, but you helped out a lot. Thank you

yours is a different perspective. i bought a brain fitness program called 'Learning Breakthrough Program' and have been doing it for the past couple of years and witnessed a huge reduction in symptoms of MD and its commorbid issues such as ADHD , anxiety and hyperactivity.

I can’t get rid of MD , i force myself to focus on present and not listen songs and for 2-3 days i am able to stop daydreaming , but then i relapse and a week goes in a snap of a second .

Ive been in constant dp/dr 24/7 the past year. It feels like i Dont even remember two seconds ago. Its like i dont have a short term memory. And if i think of two hours ago or yesterday it feels like it was long time ago.

@@alexb8926 I’m not the poster but I have the exact same problem as him lol, it’s from a marijuana attack 2 years ago, please tell me how you recovered. My diet is bad, sleep is bad so that could be it. Please let me know!

@@gixerson8212 focus on fixing your sleep schedule and eating healthier. diet is really important, also what is helping me is accepting the feelings that you are experiencing even if they are scary. I just kind of tell myself “you are okay, just focus on something” or i take LOTS Of deep breaths and get back to work or school work. I am focusing more on spending time with family and friends and it really helps to re-expose yourself if you haven’t been doing much of that. Talking about how i’m feeling also really helps in the moment because you are letting go of so much anxiety and intrusive thoughts.

Can you please help me with a question? Based on your knowledge and experience, can these kind of issues cause problems with long term memory? Few days ago I was terrified when I found out in the morning that I cannot remember there name of my colleague at work, whom I know very well. The memory came back but it was terrifying. Can you please share your experience? Thanks a lot!

I had similar experiences yes, for me it was during more intense stressful experiences. I think it was just my mind being slower due to the chronic stress and all the issues I had. The brain fog and my attention being on so many symptoms made it harder to focus and remember things. I don't have this issue anymore.
