Walk The Talk with renowned astrophysicist Professor Jayant Narlikar

"A scientist has to be curious to be young," says Professor Jayant Narlikar in this week's episode of Walk The Talk at the Inter University Centre for Astronomy & Astrophysics in Pune which he helped establish. A modest Prof Narlikar claims that being the youngest Padma Bhushan awardee was a pat on his back from the nation. He says that astronomers since the time of Galileo have face societal resistance and funding crisis. He ridicules the current society's extreme belief in astrology and can't explain how and why it is confused with astronomy. He says astrology is a borrowed science from the Greeks. He explains how the Big Bang Theory needs to be questioned and deserves an alternate theory like the Narlikar-Hoyle theory which fills in the several loopholes in the Big Bang Theory.

That would be a joke....since this country was formed....most of the scientists that got out of this country were South Indians, Marathis n Bengalis.....n also this communities still have a very good literacy rate as they always gave importance to education....first Indians to get a degree from foreign institute were also from these 3 communities.

डॉ नारळीकर , तुम्ही लहान वयापासून मुलांमधे विज्ञानाची आवड निर्माण करायला हवी असं सातत्याने म्हणता मग पुण्यात१९८८ पासून रहाताय तरी शालेय मुलामुलींमधे विज्ञानाची आवडसुध्दा निर्माण करता आली नाही तुम्हाला ।
। तुमच्या मुली तिघीही मजेत आरामात, रमतगमत (गीता व लीलावतीतील त) अमेरिकेसारखं वैभव भोगताहेत। त्यांनी काय संशोधन केले ? भारतासाठी ।
फ्रेड हॉएल व नारळीकरांच्या सिध्दांतानंतर तुमच्या मुलींनी काय दिवे लावले ?NRIसारखे दिवाळी व गणपती साजरे करण्यापुरते दिवे पाजळले असतील ना त्यांनी ??
तुमच्या कुटुंबाचा दैवतांवर ,सणांवर विश्वास आहे ?डॉ . लागू

तेव्हा ४० वर्षे तुम्ही समाजासाठी स्वबुध्दीने काय केलतं ???? सांगा ।
आज महत्व सार्वजनिक आरोग्याला ।
तुमच्या astrophysics,astronomyला नाही ।
पत्रिका, ज्योतिष व तुमची astronomyत फरक काय ते सांगितलं का तुम्ही ???
तुम्ही हस्तीदंती मनोऱ्यात रहाता समाजाचा तुमचा संबंध येतच नाही ।
हजारो मुलं अरविंद गुप्ता कडून वैज्ञानिक खेळणी शिकून, शास्त्रीय तत्व शिकले ,आयुकातील लंबक, त्याचं विज्ञान ,सगळं शिकले मग तुमच्या आयुकाला भेट दिल्यानंतर किती शास्त्रज्ञ तुम्ही निर्माण केलेत ? वा किती झालेत ? याचा शोध घेतलात ?
भारतात विद्यार्थ्यांना संशोधनासाठी शिष्यवृत्ती किती दिली आयुकाने?? तुमच्या स्टाफने किती शोध लावले ? ।
आजकालची मुले फक्त मोबाईल प्रेमी आहेत त्याचं रहस्य तुम्ही ऊलगडणार का ? तुमच्या आयुका व पुणे आकाशवाणीमुळे झालयं हे सारं ।ह्याच गुरूत्व लहरी हीच स्ट्रिंग थेअरी ।त्यासाठी व्यर्थ खर्च चाललाय फ्रेंचाचा!
तुम्ही शास्त्रज्ञ वेगळ्याच विश्वात रहाता। परग्रहावरच्या वामनाच्या ???? म्हणून तुम्ही पृथ्वीवरील सामान्यांच्या जिव्हाळ्याच्या पाणी , माती , पाणी , हवा, ध्वनी व विचार प्रदूषण यावर विचार करून ऊत्तर शोधलतं ?
वीज वापर कमी केलात ? निसर्ग स्नेही जीवनशैलीत जगलात ?
काय तुमचं आयुका ? एकही ईमारत चांगली नाही ?? ना झाडं चांगली ।
चार्ल्स कोरिया हा वास्तुरचनाकार का हो लागतो तुम्हाला ? मराठी वास्तुरचनाकार मेले होते का त्या वेळी ? का कॉलेजं नव्हती वास्तुरचनाकारांची महाराष्ट्रात ?
न्यूटनचं झाड अजून जपलं असेल का सफरचंदाचं ? ते वर्षानुवर्षे टिकायला वडाचं का झाड आहे ?? जर टिकलं असेल तर मग त्याच्या बिया पुण्याच्या शासकीय ईमारतींना का नाही दिल्या ,? तो शोध शेषाच्या पिवळा पीतांबरवाल्या, ज्याचे पाय लक्ष्मी सतत चुरते, त्या गुरू रूपी लबाड धूर्त वामनावतारातील विष्णूचा ।
तुमच्या वडिलांचं नाव विष्णू!!! ते तर नव्हेत ? तुम्ही कल्कीच्या वर्णात चपखल बसता तुम्ही १९९९साली कल्की म्हणून प्रगट का नाही झालात ?
न्यूटनची सर्व पिल्ले सूर्यबुध्दिची च ना ? सर्व पुण्यात न्यूटनची किती सफरचंद आली ? तुम्हीच खाल्ली असतील ! शाळा शाळात ती शक्तीबीजं वाटली का नाहीत ?
बोधीगयाचा वृक्षाखाली म्हणे बुध्दाला ज्ञान प्राप्ती झाली मग जिथे न्यूटनला झाली तो वृक्ष खासच असणार ।
समाज ऋण , देव ऋण, मातृपितृऋण, पृथ्वीऋण, शाळाऋण, पंचमहाभूत ऋण फेडलंत तुम्ही ?हिशोब द्या ।
