Hi! I've found your student planner today and it's amazing. Just wanted to say thank you because it will help me a lot next year 💗
Awesome. I like it 😊
This was amazing, but I have a question. How would you calculate your interest income and dividends?
Is there any way to download a year of past bank statements to help organize spending. Then create a budget with that information?
GREAT SPREADSHEET!!!!! One question, why did you use the OFFSET command in your formulas? In the Balance column =SUM(M4,J5-I5) seems to work as well as =SUM(OFFSET(M5,-1,0),J5,-I5)?
To avoid having the balance formula break if you delete a row or move rows.
Hi! This is an awesome resource, thank you for sharing! Around the 2:00 minute mark, it shows on the 'Report' tab of expenses sorted into different subcategories - how do we go about setting this view? Or is there an updated spreadsheet with this functionality?
if you're still interested the 'Report' tab in the video is 2010 copyright and the current worksheet is 2019 copyright. I have an older version that I compared it to.
Hello, I have found your money manager and credit card register but I'm trying to figure out how to incorporate them both. I make most purchases by credit card so it's important my budget includes credit card spending categories. I can't figure out a way of incorporating the credit card transactions into the main money manager budget. Has anyone done this?
When setting everything up I entered all my starting balances in the Transactions tab- including my mortgage balance. Doing so seems to give a very skewed view of my overall financial health, but I want to track the reduction via the accounts tab. Is there any way to do this without my transactions balance showing negative 140K? Are their more "how to" videos for this?
No other how to videos at the moment. You could include the value of your property as an "account" to make the overall balance appear more like a net worth.
There are not enough categories... I need all the categories from version 1 to be added to version 2. Please give me step by step instructions to "Unhide the hidden rows in the Budget and Report worksheets if you need more categories" I need to add the 50 hidden rows to do so, please help. Thanks
Hi there, I applied a filter to the transaction sheet and entered 12 months worth of car payments under that category, and then did the same for other categories. These entries then appear out of order in the sheet without any filtering. If I then sort descending on the dates, the dates appears in order. If I continue like this, noob question yes....will the balances appear correct so long as I am always reviewing them with the date sorting applied? Account balance and Balance formulae appear correct when date is sorted 1/1/22 to 12/31/22....but, will I regret this somehow?
Not sure if you'll regret it or not. The balance formulas in this spreadsheet are not based on date.
@@vertex42 I tried it and it works fine and you are correct the formulas in the last three columns continue to work correctly when the table is filtered or even when the date column is sorted... I guess the key is to never take the filters off.
how to use check register
Hi, if you deposit to your savings account, do you place 2 separate transaction orders? One deposit order to your savings account and one payment order from your checkings account? Because I did this and it shows on my report that my savings spending is negative.
A transfer from one account to another is two transactions. You don't record the budget category twice, though. You only use a budget category for the payment from checking IF you are considering the transfers to savings as "expenses" for budgeting purposes ... meaning that you are treating it as already spent.
