***** FAQ ***** I probably won't have time to answer specific questions, but I'll use this comment for some common questions. If you have problems getting things to work, see the link in the first paragraph of the description to download the template.
    0. I can't get [fill in the blank] to work. Have any advice? Make a copy of the template for Google Sheets, accessible via the following page and analyze the template to figure out how it's done: www.vertex42.com/ExcelTemplates/simple-gantt-chart.html
    1. How do I ignore weekends? See the related video series for Excel. Similar techniques and formulas can be applied in Google Sheets: ruclips.net/video/5or9BN3GanM/видео.html
    2. 10:12 - The correct shortcut for grouping rows is SHIFT+ALT+RightArrow
    3. How do I display monthly instead of daily/weekly? See the answer to #1
    4. How do you show milestones? If you mean showing the diamond symbol (◆) within the chart, you can do that using formulas within the cells of the chart to display the unicode diamond character. I use that technique in Gantt Chart Template Pro (not free) but it appears more like magic because of the use of spilling array formulas. If you want to display a milestone as a just a different color, that is much easier and see the answer to #1 for a video that shows changing the colors.

Can I just say this is probably one of the best tutorial videos I've ever seen on youtube. Simple, easy to understand, straightforward, good video quality, not too long. It goes over each procedure in a way that is easy to understand and doesn't over explain. Learned so much from this one video. Thank you, I hope you make more videos in the future.

This tutorial is honestly one of the best I've ever seen for making material relatable and interesting. The entire video passed without me being pulled away to check email/focus on another project because I was engrossed.
The use ofgraphics and motion really helps guide the eye and maintain interest, the music choice was unobtrusive but assisted in maintaining interest, and the visual of the shortcut keys was brilliant!
    Thank you!

@@vertex42 Do you have a video teaching how to make a linked subtask within the chart? The way I see it is the phase/task but I'm not sure how to make it make sence to create a phase/task/subtask.I know I'm going to add a column where I can assign subtasks to resources, if I can figure out how to set up the subtasks w/in this chat.
      I appreciate what youve' created!

You have no idea, how much this has helped me out. Working on multiple projects that are very large and complex with very long timelines. This made it easy for me to wrap my head around all of it and clearly communicate that to the team.
Thank you very very much for your work! Much love and appreciation.

Hi Bob, How did you add your multiple projects? Example, let's say you had a dozen. Did you put them all into sheet one, or use one new sheet per project? I would love to know how to make multiple overlapping projects (you know, every manager's situation!) be visually represented as such--All happening at once! Thanks in advance! Brady

Takes me back. In 1980 we opened a Radio Shack Computer Center and everyone knew nothing about PC's and the company had nobody to train us, so we learned by doing. One young lad, a jerk who didn't like sharing, had found out how to make a simple formula (location = location above + 1) then he selected it and did a smear for where to copy it and hit enter. It was like magic, as the number 1 became a sequence down the page.
"How did you do that?" we all asked, as we knew only how to type numbers in cells and noting about formulas or copying them.
    "Figure it out yourselves".
I did and thus a career in computers was born, though I thought the kid who wouldn't share was a jerk. He didn't last long, but I did.
How? By doing what I am going here, like you. Setting myself a task then finding others who know how to do it to learn from them. Humility and curiosity never wear out though my brain is a little slower after 42 years.
