After a long search and lot many videos for gantt chart, my search is over and finally i found something very related to my project. Thanks for sharing it
@@IlyaMikhelson I had one query, can we have a highlighter line to show the Today line. I know we can see with the burndown but it would be more visual if we can have a highlighter.
Very generous of you to share both the template and the instructions on how you created the formulas so we understand how it works. I used your template, shared with a client and received positive responses from them. Big Thanks!!
Nice video content! Apologies for butting in, I would love your thoughts. Have you heard about - Weydaniel Organized Dominator (google it)? It is an awesome exclusive guide for getting 7000 plus project management and business templates without the normal expense. Ive heard some great things about it and my m8 after many years got excellent success with it.
You are absolutely awesome. The end result is very elegant and simple. I actually typed the formulas myself instead of using the template, so that I could understand everything you did, and it's amazing.
TNice tutorials is by far, the best tutorial I have found so far. I feel like I’ll be spending a lot of ti on your channel! Thanks man! Keep up the good
Excellent guide. thanks. Just one tip: if you want to prevent the dates from auto-incrementing when you drag the corner of the cell and then having to manually clean up the dates, just hold down CTRL while dragging and all the dates in the following cells will be the same as the initial cell's date.
I am so grateful for your sharing. I am planning a project to refurb my apartment and this tool is just what I needed to look like a careful and responsible Self Build project manager when I come to present the project to a Lender. Many blessings to you.
Wow wow wow, the most amazing Spreadsheet tutorial I’ve found so far. Excellent step by step hands on illustration both visually and logically. You’re among the best talents I’ve met. Thanks so much.
Very helpful and awesome template. One suggestion that is simple enough: For the burndown, I changed the formula to "=SPARKLINE(IF(int(today())-int(B2)
One of the best explanations I’ve seen about anything, and I don’t make those comments like them. Thank you for your work and I will go to download the template if it’s still available. Brilliantly done
I am now using this file! Wow! This is exactly what I've been searching for! You are a genius! I immediately subscribed! Thank you so much! You are so brilliant!
Great demonstration with a great level of detail in a short period of time. Of course, you putting the template in the notes makes it incredibly useful. Thanks.
The Best Explanation !!! I referred to many videos , but out of all tNice tutorials was the best I could find among all .... Also got to know many tNice tutorialngs
Very clear presentation! Thank you so much for going step by step and for the completed template! I look forward to viewing more of your informational presentations!
Thanks for your generous contribution to our projects! I've downloaded your template and adapted to have the two versions by deleteing the rows. Best wishes to you. :)
Thanks a TON for this video and the Gantt Chart template! I needed to create a Gantt chart for a college project and this made it very easy in Google Sheets!
This was wonderful. it's exactly what I needed and your video was very helpful to watch to explain how each thing worked. Sometimes templates are confusing because you have to decipher what it does, if you need to tweak it, but the video removes that problem. Thanks!
I unfortunately haven't done any fancy formatting, but I know that others have made this sheet look really awesome, well beyond my abilities. Hopefully they can share!
Lovely sir. Each and every step makes loads of sense while monitoring the project. Just trying to add the budget part of it which I think i can handle. Thank you
In general, if your Google Sheet settings indicate that you are not in the US, this may be useful. This is because in other countries, commas are used as decimal points. Therefore, slashes are used instead in the formulas.
Amazing video and very helpful! Thank U! I face a problem with Upcoming status - in any option i don't get the darkred, only red. Why? I have been using your Tempalte.
Thank you for watching and commenting! You would only get dark red if the current time is already within the time of the task, and the task is still Upcoming (hence being behind schedule).
This is really great. I will use it in my project class. Did you know that if you copy a link and then change the last word in the link to "copy" instead of "edit" it will prompt all of your viewers to make a copy of the document in their own google drive?
Thank you very much. I got the problems after I have used your template that The thing that is different from you, Start Date and End Date of the Project >> I calculated min(date of all each Tasks) for Start Date and max(date of all each tasks) for End Date. However, it shows me only one bar lightblue chart. How do I fix it?
@Ilya Mikhelson, Thank you! This is incredibly helpful. May I ask, what would formula would I use if I wanted to have an Overall status of the project based on the associated tasks? For example, I'd like to know if my project was 'RED' due to any of the tasks missing their target completion date/s or yellow if any of the tasks were at risk of being missed. Would you mind sharing that?
Thank you for watching and commenting! I made a new sheet to attempt what you are asking (using the Project Status column): docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1qFnzyLA6xuwg27SCqx--xj29ZFDqM3WrqssG1dtqbUI/edit?usp=sharing I made it so that it is yellow if the completion date is within 10 days. I'm not sure if this is what you had in mind, but hopefully it is a good starting point. Please let me know if I misunderstood!
The video is great, but I wouldn't be able to do this myself. I used your template, did some tweaking, and now we're using it on a project! Thanks man!
Thanks for the amazing video. I appreciate the level of detail provided in a short duration. How can I export the Gantt chart and use it in my report in Google docs?
Thank you very much! I thought that I knew something about Google Sheets and could even do some things. But after your amazing video I understood that I'm haven't even used yet this tool =)
I was definitely surprised at the amount of work that had to be done to create something as conceptually simple as a Gantt chart. But I was happy at the amount I learned about Google Sheets in the process. And I'm glad I could share it with everyone :)
Thanks a ton. I struggled for long time to get the right formula... cell numbers might be different in any of your sheet if you want to use below : =SPARKLINE({int(B3)-int($B$2),int(C3)-int(B3)},{"charttype","bar";"color1","white";"color2",if(F3="Complete","gray",if(today()>C3,"red",if(AND(today()>B3,today()
The next step to this would be to assign tasks to staff, and seeing a chart by staff so manager can have a sense of individual workload and avoid conflicts between projects.
I like the function added to show the "today" line. Is there anyway to write the formula so the today is black, but leave the leading days white. Right now, if I change the "today" color to black....the for leading days before the task is set to start also turns from white to black. Thanks in a advance for your time.
Thanks Ilya, currently working my way through this although some of my tasks only last one day in my project e.g. shooting a video interview and unless the task runs over 2 days I am not going to get a green bar in my sparkline.so maybe I need to add a +1 to make it show up?
Excellent video! Thanks a lot for explaining what happens "under the hood". I can now make the modifications I need in order to make it work for my team.
Very good ! Is there any other way of outlining a more analytical day-to-day date bar on the top instead of the light blue boxes? Or will require a different approach of building the gantt chart?
Thanks for a great video. I am using it for a master timeline for my office. I was wondering if there is a way to label the alternating colors representing the weeks as week 1, week 2, etc. Thanks in advance.
How do you add milestones into the chart? And also, how can you show the top sparkline (blue squares breaking the timeline down into weeks) to show clearly the end of a week?
Great tutorial and just what I needed! I noticed in your template, you added a line in white for "today()". Is there any way to change that color? I'm thinking of having it match the burndown color. Thanks again!
I have never seen anyone demonstrate a black belt in spreadsheets before. I am in awe of your skills.
