Yeah we paid 25 cents a Pack back then. Thanks to Dr. James Beckett for Ruining our once great Hobby for kids. Once he entered the Hobby it went to Hell. He was an Investor. He did all of what he did to get Rich off of kids. What a piece of Crap. The Fun is long gone.

You see these guys opening up the $12,000 new Leaf or Bowman briefcases... Yeah they chase a $90,000 card, but get excited for a 1-1 Jersey Patch Justin Jeffersen auto... When now there are thousands of Justin Jeffersen autos and 1 of 1's... This industry is insane, Somebody is gonna get caught holding the bag! I'd say your best bet would be low-grade 52 Mantle Rookie and PSA-9 older rookies... or just PSA 9/9.5 mega cards... You'll get collectors paying top dollar trying to repeatedly regrade them trying for PSA 10... this Rickey rookie for example... PSA 10= $180,000 and PSA 9 is $1800?? You don't think the grading system is corrupt at all?

@scottholder4431 I understand 10s are extremely rare. Look at Jordan PSA 10s which are not as rare as the Henderson commands the same price. Then Look at the Jordan 9s, they're value are more in line price. I understand we are talking about Jordan, but the gap and ratio between the Henderson 9 and 10 are way off in my opinion.
There are way to many 9’s in circulation. The population exceeds demand so that’s why it’s really not undervalued. There are definitely some low pop 9’s that are extremely undervalued though. Especially Jordan cards

Predicting a waste of money. 1st, 1/3rd of the cards are guaranteed to be commons since you can see the top card. 2nd, PSA pop-controls the Rickey RC, you aren't getting a 10 even if its a 10...

The gap between a PSA 9 and PSA 10 is WAAAAY too big. Should not be 100X.

The PSA9 is a super undervalued card. It should be much, much higher in relation to the gap between a 9 and 10. The 9 should be a five figure card.
If you believe that then you should be out cornering that underpriced card.
The price difference is because 10's are almost impossible. Centering and print issues back in the 80's.

I first started opening 81 Topps/Donruss/Fleer...but remember when you could buy unopened rack packs of 1980 Topps for $1 at card stores.

Geoff, you can get a 1933 Babe Ruth stereoview card for under $300 and they typically sell for $2000 or so at shows. Great arbitrage there.
