😂 the way he was looking at all those first 10 cards that was Baseballs I know he was like “uuummm I said avoid these WTH 🤦🏻♂️. Had one job T one job” 😂
You have a great presence in this field man. You're super knowledgable, kind, a bro to chat with, and very fair in negotiations. We deff want to see more of you on these platforms!
I wish you would have joked with Ryan and said “I paid 110% on the Mahomes” just to see if his expression changed. He’s so positive, would be funny to hear him be like WTH T-Pott lol 😂
As a dealer myself, the 80-85% requests when it comes to bulk deals is getting annoying. I’ve seen a lot of dealers going nowhere below 90-95%, and I’ve been sticking to the same business model. There are plenty of buyers willing to pay 95% of comps to avoid shipping fees or just to have a competitive shot at getting the cards they want.
It all depends how you value your time.. if you’re trying to squeeze every dollar out of a card, it’s going to take longer to find buyers at 95%, as opposed to 85%. Cards are more likely to go down than up, so you also run the risk of the cards losing value.
Funny reading the comments when ppl are pissed at how T-Pot is going about it at the show..at the end of the day this is great content !! Had to be stressful but appreciate the content T-Pot!
What's your general profit margin you target when you buy for the shop at shows? FMV $1,000, you offer $800 and then desire a $200 profit (of course you might factor in at least 1/3 of that going toward taxes and covering operating costs/overhead, so is it a volume game and being selective to buy cards that move as opposed to cards that might sit and tie up space and money?
Tpot did fine, the problem is that the task was so open ended. I would have went for Hank Aaron, Mays, Clemente cards instead of Mantle (just way too out of my price range). I never understood the color match thing either, I just go for a certain refractor color that I like (but I won't tell all my secrets).
I took 64 slabs to the show on Friday for the repackers as I thin out my PC. Selling off things that have become stale or don’t speak to me anymore. When all said and done I sold 42 slabs at 85% and walked out with $4000. Most noticeably a PSA 9 2000 bowman Brady for $1000 (of which I had $100 into), a PSA 8 2001 SPx auto Pujols for $900 ($500 into), a PSA 9 1975 Topps Joe Thiessman for $275 ($60 into). For the first time that I started going to Chantilly in 2000, I didn’t pick up any new cards. A lot of overpriced or nothing I was interested in. I was sitting behind you in the cafe but you were on camera and I was getting up to go back on floor. I went back on Saturday for Larry Brown on a 8x10 picture and that was it. I spent more on food and drinks. Maybe a better spring show. 🤞
Perhaps stop updating your card haul and remaining time every 10 minutes...I know you're there for content..but takes away from your focus...I saw you guys walking around, I had a ton of the stuff you're looking for - we could have made a great deal...next time I'll hit you up!
Tpott ur fired!!! Never send a collector to do a flippers job 😂
wow he was horrible
😂 the way he was looking at all those first 10 cards that was Baseballs I know he was like “uuummm I said avoid these WTH 🤦🏻♂️. Had one job T one job” 😂
I agree with this
“Percentage wise not the best…” Yeah, no crap. You aren’t getting Downtowns of Mahomes at 80%… 😂
Pleasure meeting you TPott! Looking forward to the next deal! 🥶🤝

Really fun watch! Nice work Ty!

T Pott you the best hustler when it comes to cards, thank you for updates.
haha i like how u and Geoff have very similar ways of speaking but have different voices
Loved this video ⚡️ Learned a lot from it
Maybe if you had a table and walked around too that way sellers come to you and you could still hit the tables, a half day of each.
Lots of value boxes you could buy out . Cards $15-50
"There is a lot of pressure!" 😃
"I could lose my job!" 😃
enjoyed that Tpott. I know id have been in the same boat as you. especially since im mostly a baseball guy
Having $15k to spend in only 4 hours in a huge card show like that is very hard. Time goes extremely quick. Need more time to look at everything 😮
I am thinking about doing that daytrip up next year. How far from Dulles is the show?
super close...was like 15 mins!
It's actually called the Dulles Expo Center
I saw me!!
Brees topps rookie looked like a reprint
I’m a fan. And I had a table at this show and you never came by my table 😢😢😢
Definitely a tough task. I think your approach was sound. Better to come back lite than push the issue and overpay for less desirable cards
We need you to have more than 3 hours!
Awesome video. Very interesting and fun challenge. I enjoyed the hunt from start to finish. Great concept for a video .
Great shopping
Bijan $450 have you seen his play?
This in Va ?
Yeah, near Dulles.
Mr. Liquid is a star.
I got a Walter Payton rookie, sgc 5 for $240 there. Was pretty happy with that. Picked up a few Banks, Sayers and Billy Williams cards for fair prices
TEA KETTLE OVERPAYING

I'll answer. yes shops need to sell volume to pay bills.
I prefer raw and prefer SGC to PSA. PSA grades based on their pop count, I don't care about their pop count, I want a nice card.
yes, but unfortunately, that's not the general collector.
no
soind like something davebluejacket owns
Love the content as usual tpot, but dony wuit your day job my man....great try tho!!
You need to “fill” the shelves

Haaaaaa its Tyler now
Wait, wouldn't it be better to buy baseball now since nobody is focusing on it?
If you are buying. I have a bijan robinson 1 of 1 donruss elite rookie I'd be interested in selling.
You need to stop talking, commentating to the camera, and start shopping bro. Lol 😂
I can pick you out 15 Grand Worth IN my Card Room
You mainly only buy graded cards , otherwise I could help ya out
Wow this video was rough bor….ing

Well, you've spent 1/3 of this video talking, and you have bought nothing. You did get some real nice cards at the end, though.
