    🤔add the venting and maybe drop the thermostat to a lower temp to fight off heat OH YOU SHOULD USE ROYAL PURPLE ✨👑 OIL TOO💯

    Use Royal Purple HPS(Street Oil) or Royal Purple XPR(Racing Oil) if you want lower engine temps.

    can you set your fan to a lower temp to come on
    take the side panels off and see what the temp the motor gets to\

    Lower the temp the fans come on. Lower the thermostat to 160. Get a head of the over temp. Just my 2cents.

    You definitely need some venting in the side panels. I have chassis #99 and found some very nice louver inserts that I had powder coated and put into the side panels. Unfortunately, the ones I got are not available any longer. Try So-Cal Arizona.
    I don’t know if you have an expansion tank or not. If not, I would add one. My 425hp 347 Ford engine has 180 degree t-stat and ambient temperature makes quite a difference. I have seen temps as high as 210 in traffic on a 95 degree summer day but, once up to cruise speed on the highway, temp would drop back to 190’s. My biggest issue is heat infiltration into the cabin and despite my best efforts it’s still a problem. I think the later cars like yours have some improvements on that issue.

      The more I think about it, I have a hard time thinking that would help when the whole bottom of the engine bay is wide open and the air will be forced to go down.

    Jim, I have a glass 34 Streetbeast bodied car with side panels like yours and no problem overheating w/air. The fan that comes with the FFR Hot Rod is suspect IMO and without a shroud I think you are asking for trouble. My suggestion would be to add a shroud and see what the CFM of the fan is. Old timers told me I couldn't run side panels without overheating?? New vehicles are all closed in with the air on and sitting in traffic at 100 degree days and no overheating!

      I have a shroud.

      Ok that's good, fan should run most / all the time you're not moving. Mine is controled by the FAST ECU & set at 185 on. Good luck and don't cut the body 😮.

    That engine takes way more than the 2 gallons you mentioned. You should be around 4 gallons of coolant. Maybe more with the rad and heater core. I wonder if you put the head gasket on incorrectly and blocked the water passage. It's super easy to do. I can't remember what you used to paint that engine with. If you used anything but engine paint, guys will use tremclad and that actually holds the heat into the block. I learnt that one the hard way.
    I liked the other suggestion on lowering the thermostat to 180 or 190 and also lowering the electric fan thermostat. Are you sure the fans are turning on and spinning?

      @StreetRodJim  11 месяцев назад

      Yeah. It sounds like a drone attacking the fan is so loud. VHT engine paint. Keep in mind the radiator is small in this car.

      @@StreetRodJimI liked your idea about the shroud at the bottom to force the air through the radiator. Air will take the path of least resistance. It is a small rad. Good thing it's aluminum and I think 3 or 4 cores

    I have no vents in mine but I have a shroud and it runs 180 to 190 all day.

    I just think there’s not enough cooling capacity in that little radiator or maybe the cooling system needs to burp.
    18:40 if you find it needs more venting, how about a louvered skid plate and vent on the bottom so you don’t see it?

      The whole bottom of the engine bay is open so....Maybe I am kidding my self except for heat rises.
