Used to wear caps a lot when I was younger to church, now I wear fedoras. I guess I've been destined to wear classic headwear. Still wear my caps for our annual play set in 1906 called "A Trip to Azusa." I'm the newspaper boy.
I reasantly got in to flat caps after years of considering them. I started with the slim flat caps and was put off trying the newsboys. I found size of intimidating cause I have a thin face . But bit the bullet and bought my first 1 and loved it . I now have 4 newsboys I simply adore the newsboy caps now which I did not expect I wish I bit the bullet much sooner. The slim flat caps have taken the backseat so to speak. Newsboys caps all the way for me now . Enjoy your vids very helpful and informative thanks happy new year stay safe. 👍
Caps are awesome for the colder weather. I've never been a fan of the caps with fold out ear flaps. They've rarely stayed close to my ears and ended up looking like floppy dog ears. 🤪🤪 I add ear muffs and they're perfect.
I have a newsboy cap that I wear from time to time. I'm realising that, as I have long thick hair, I could do with one with more volume and maybe width. My hair tends to stick out sideways underneath, and I think the larger hat proportion would look more balanced. Thanks for the advice!
Happy new year Kevin. Great video. I’m a fan of the single panel flat cap being shorter (5’9”) thinner face. Patch work patterns look great. Good tip on stuffing with tissue paper and steaming any wrinkles out.
I've got both newsboys and flat caps. Which style I wear depends on my mood, the weather, and what else I'm wearing, especially colour. I have several hats but I not longer wear them on a daily basis. In my antiquity I prefer wool caps.
Good cleaning tip. Whenever I have to clean wool items that aren’t dirty but need to be freshened up I use the Dryel kit. I’ll put wool scarves, hats and anything else that shouldn’t be washed in and put the dryer sheet in and run it through the dryer. It comes out smelling fresh and saves a lot of money 💴 compared with sending scarves 🧣 to a dry cleaner for $12 each. The Dryel kit costs about $10 and has 4 dryer sheets. The large dryer bag uses Velcro and lasts longer than the sheets in the kit. You can buy a box of 8 refills for $10. This will not clean filth like Woolite but it will clean light smudges and definitely freshens things. I don’t have any wool sweaters anymore but this kit saves a lot of money cleaning cashmere scarves 🧣 and winter woolen hats. You can put other things besides wool in the bag such as things that should go to the cleaners but aren’t really dirty. Not sure if you know about this. I thought it might be helpful. BTW I really like the background at the beginning. Nice shirts 👔 too. 🙃 Happy New Year 🥳 ! 👍☮️🌞🌟⭐️🎸🐾
I can’t suggest that, I’ve never used it. It may work, but I wouldn’t know. Hand washing carefully, with woolite works, most importantly you must avoid the peak, dont get it wet. Wash the sweatband inside that touches your forehead, but not the peak itself. Wash the entire cap, avoid the peak, air dry, no heat..it works well,
Hey Kevin, just curious - I would like to clean up my 6x Stetson Skyline. It just has a bit of dust on it from a rodeo I went to, nothing crazy. What do you think would be the best way to go about cleaning it? Also, what do you think is the best way to maintain felt hats? Thanks!
For dust, use packing tape, make big rings of tape and pat it down thoroughly.. for stains, u need some sandpaper, nothing too coarse, nothing crazy done either, anything like fine or something similar to an Emory board will do, I use these disposable foam sanding sponges. From 3M.. sand down the whole side, not just the stain, take a thin layer of felt off and use light, careful technique.. I have many videos on this
Bro I’m planning to buy a flat cap. Are they viable on tropical country? I’ve been wearing a simple hat while growing my hair and it intrigue me about hats. : )
When you first showed the Spitfire you pulled the top back away from the brim it then reminded me of the early 1930-1940's motorcycle caps. Look at old advertisements or better yet Marlon Brando in the Wild One to see what I'm referring to. That was a style I searched for in the past and never thought to look for a newsboy. Are newsboys available with leather brims? Happy New Year!
A great place to get custom caps is the hat people in Oregon. Their hats are 100% washable even the visor. They make the visor out of a material that can get fully submerged in water. I love their custom newsboys.
Outstanding overview of the hats and their care! Been wearing a newsboy for the past couple of years to replace my usual baseball cap.
Just getting back into wearing my newsboy and this is just what I needed. Guitar and psychedelic vid was an unexpected treat. Thanks ☮️

My wife's bucket list is to watch the ball drop on new years....mine is to buy a hat from ur shop
I wear my flat cap with my Irish grandfather's shirt and a herringbone waistcoat on St Patrick's Day
I'm I the only one who had this question on mind? Glad you addressed it here! Salute!
Thanks for the tip on how to properly fold the cap!
That’s a good one,yes. Your welcome
the harris tweed 8 panel newsboy cap #1 for me i have wore them for over 35 years. this cap never goes out of style.
Time for some new show-downs from the store. I miss seeing caps and hats on your head. It's a great tool in deciding on hats. 🎸🎩
Good idea

Newsboys are awesome, I got a black one that's very oversized, like the ones John Lennon used to wear, and I love it!

Hey Kevin. Gotta go with the Newsboy all the way! Happy New Year!
Cool room, it came out really good.
Thanks for noticing Luigitunnel ! Couldn’t have done it without you!!
Thanks Kevin, I have learned quite a bit over the last couple of years of watching your videos. I enjoy doing business with JJ at center.
Thanks Jay!

Thanks Daze, I’ll try that. LOVE this shirt! I get comments all day at work about it from old ex-hippies !
Working on the background, the lighting is a little off, maybe too strong.., I’ll blend it more next time,,
That spitfire of yours is my favourite. Love it!
Happy New Year, Kevin!
Should I dry clean the hat ? Or is it safe to wash by hand in cold water ?
How about using Woolite carpet foam which can also be used on furniture ?

Loving the sounds brother Kev, especially 23 minutes until the End of the year and a fresh one a comin. Happy New Year to all! 🎶🎵🍾🥂🍾🎵🎶

Nice playing, loved the dancing hamster 🐹.
Happy new year 🎊
Thanks, I liked it too, thx for noticing, have a wonderful new year
Love the cap videos. Occasionally I love wearing my newsboys. Probably only wear them 20% of the time. Mostly wear my fedora‘s.
Caps are great in the winter. I don't like the feel of the cold leather sweat bands from my fedora in the winter.
Glad you’re feeling better buddy, Kev

Thank you Kevin
I wear a toque in the winter. It's the warmest hat other than a Stormy Kromer and it easily fits in a pocket
I really like your newsboy cap I know it's older model but I would love to find one just like it
I like the newsboy it has more character to it.
@@Racedoc Nah, flat caps are much better.

Yes, they make summer or winter, look for summer weight, linen and cotton, delmonico always has them, or Bencraft has nice kangol stuff for summer,
Happy new year 🎊
Happy New Year!
Check out Sterkowski caps. Nicely made with plastic brims in their newsboys. 👍
Thanks bud
Happy New Year Kevin . Let's hope we'll not see anything like the last two years happen again to us ! Rock on :-)
It won’t end until We the people end it
I stuff mine with tissue when I put them away in the spring and it's fedora weather.
Very useful info!
Hi Kevin 👏

Hanna Hats makes a Connery. How does that compare to their 8 piece?

That is a replica of the Marlon Brando hat, good call they're rare, but u can get leather brims, it's just not something u see often though
Happy New Year.
This was a great video thank you.
Thank You too🤠✌️
Happy New Year Kev. You said you’ve been at JJs for 26 years, starting in November of 94 and we just passed Nov of 2021, doesn’t that make 27 years?
Yes, but I spent one year at home during the pandemic😷, so I don’t count that!😻
have a great night man party on my man
Hey hey. Happy new year.
You too, Dave. All my best. ☮️💚Kev
