I’ve actually contacted Boston Scally and complained about the label on the inside. It does stick to your head if you have no hair! You guys are great! Keep it up!

Thanks to the U.S. Army I have been a daily hat (of one type or another) wearer for nearly 50 years. I don't feel comfortable out in public without some form of a cover. I have one/five/six/eight panel caps (mostly from BSC) and they are my usual "go to" cover on a daily basis, especially when wearing a kilt. Before I got into these types of caps it was always baseball style caps. I haven't yet worn a baseball style cap while wearing a kilt but, I just received my US Army Tartan kilt, today as a matter of fact, and I will more likely wear a baseball style cap that is Army/Military related. Same goes for this coming college football season, ball caps with my team's logo will be the go to style. By the way, Thank-you USAKilts, love the kilt!

I'm an avid hat wearer and collector and have dozens of different hats for different looks and/or occasions. I'd suggest it's less about the hat itself and more about how you wear it and how it fits with the outfit as a whole. I've worn everything from fedora, bowlers, top hats, tams to flat caps. I do admit a preference for the tam though.
The flat cap btw, is not an Irish thing at all. It originated in and is heavily associated with Yorkshire in northern England.

With a kilt, I have grown to love my Glengarry. Otherwise I'm usually in a white Panama hat - living on the Gulf Coast, that is a very practical choice.

I definitely prefer a scottish bonnet. It's a very versatile woolen cap that can keep you warm but if worn right can also be used for keeping the sun out of your eyes.

I prefer flatcaps and bonnets for casual wear especially the oldschool knitted ones. Have also a few homemade sewn bonnets without pom, similar to the one Eric is wearing, one from cotton for warmer seasons and others from felted wool for cooler weather. Hope y'all are having a good start into the new year.

I meant to make this comment when I originally watched the live show, but I have to agree with Rocky about Boston Scally’s logo in the liner. I like their designs and have several of their caps but Man does that vinyl logo make my bald head sweat. It’s my biggest complaint about their caps. I’m gonna try cutting one out like Rocky suggested and see how it goes.

I prefer brimmed hats, my preference is an outback /western style. Although i definitely appreciated a good fedora and flat cap. Having said that, i have a strong dislike for baseball hats
I have a decent collection of different hats but need to get a couple of high quality flat caps. So i may be ordering one soon from you 🤠

Those of us who are follically-challenged HAVE to wear a hat of some sort. Flat caps, ball caps, and others are much easier to just shove in a pocket when you go inside. Stiff, brimmed hats are less convenient that way.

Lord Wellington here🧐 I Did see this Episode. I wear the same sort of hat as Rocky does. I wear a beret now with my kilt. I would wear All the hats Featured on this Episode. Except a Top Hat or Bowler. As to the reason Why I would not wear those, I have Never seen them worn with a kilt. They Do count as Formal Attire though. Even to This Day. "Royal Ascot." And there Are Rules for it as well. In the 1960's I believe Bowlers were worn Even by Military Men from the USA visiting England. In the Airforce. Bowler hat, White gloves and I believe a trench coat. I have worn the " Newspaper Boy " look for years, We called them " Ivy Caps " as I recall. I wore a Top Hat in an Auto mo-bile. I did have a Problem with my Driver. I said, ..........." Is it affecting your view of the road? " He said, " No. " I told him...." Then Put it On. "

" I was Almost Married to an " Irish Woman " once. And that one eluded Me! So I'm learning something. I saw a Very Fetching "Scottish Woman" wearin a " Tam " in the film " The Loch Ness Horror. " It was like a " Light Brown. "

    • @easyfiveOsink

Currently in the Royal Regiment of Scotland the color hackle denotes your battalion and thus the area of Scotland your battalion is raised in. Example the blue hackle is the 4th (Highland) battalion.

LOve hats. Balmoral bonnet looks best with highland outfit. Glengarry nice, but much too military, pipe band-like for casual wear.
The more the hat is worn, the better it fits, so wear all the time. Forget protocol or custom, wear your hat anywhere, anytime, even to bed. Women can, and do - so men likewise!
Remember that (top) hats were once worn inside UK parliament buildings before interior heating was installed. So for baldies especially, keeping head warm is priority, and just looks better.
USA Kilts. Maybe do something on women's hats regards Scottish wear? Women's berets in particular look great, esp with a brooch and feather!
