I live in old farmhouse way, way off the road so I let my cats go outside. All of them invariably wake me up between 3 and 4 to let them out. Maybe she was up and that was part of her checking her territory for the first time of the day?
I have a cat like that, she's a tabby cat, she goes everywhere with me. My whole family talk to her and she responds back. Back in 2022, when I rescued her, my family was against the idea of adopting her, but she's so annoyingly affectionate that we decied to adopt her.
At least God will bless you for rescuing him from the mean street of the USA. Feral & stray cats are now being targeted by poachers for the cat meat shops for their meat (aka flesh) and their fur, which has increased in numbers in many cities in the Northeastern United States in recent years and has become a very lucrative trade as we speak. By rescuing him, he did NOT have to become FOOD for the many people that are starving in the USA as well. Much of this is due to unchecked immigration over the past 25-30 years as well.
@@SUGAR_XYLER Thank You. The last NYC Mayoral candidate a Republican named Curtis Sliwa, along with his wife and children had rescued 16 cats and kittens, which included four (4) pregnant cats from a CAT MEAT SHOP in Brooklyn, NY and gave them a second chance in life as well. If these cats were not rescued, they will await their fate in a pot of boiling water, and will become someone's next meal. He lost to a Democrook Eric Adams whom refuses to close down the many cat meat shops which serves the thriving Asian community which considers cats as food, and loves to eat cats, and don't consider them as pets. Its also really difficult to break a 5,000 year old tradition of eating cats as well. As long as these cat meat shops pay their taxes to the city, there's nothing he can really do to close them down, which will result in a community backlash from these immigrants as well. Its also a really tough balancing act politically.
The neighbor's cat that comes to visit us also hisses at us frequently before turning it into a squeaky meow. Sometimes her jaw will hang open while she's deciding between the two. CHONK looks like such a good boy!
@@kuroichan101 the difference is those dogs are sadly but justifiably put down because that won’t be tolerated by most dog owners. But y’all are like “OMG how cute he’s scratching my face and hates me. Isn’t he precious?🤪”
@@mikealaniz7236 Chonk literally only did that once when he didn't like the way his owner was "dancing" him (it was more of her fault for not finding out whether her cat liked that sort of thing before recording it). You're obviously just cherry picking instances because otherwise you can literally see him allowing belly and neck scratches, rubbing his face all over his owner and just mostly being affectionate (despite being grumpy at times). I don't know what your problem is, but you shouldn't make dumb general statements about people, just because you disagree with them. The cat is obviously not dangerous to the people it's with. It's not attempting to scratch unless it feels threatened or very uncomfortable. You can even see Chonk being calm at 1:20 when he was being danced more gently this time. You sound like a He-Karen and a really dumb and angry bitch beside.
Chonk is a very handsome boy! I’ve got a ginger tabby that is very vocal as well. His talking sounds more like a whine or a cry, but my BF & I have full on conversations with him all the time. He definitely understands everything we’re saying to him. Wishing Chonk & his family many more safe, happy & healthy years together! Thanks for sharing your story. 🐾❤️🐾
I've had a lot of cats, mostly siamese, and they are nonstop talkers! My fave of my cats was my orange tabby named Raymond who was like a dog. He would go with me when I'd take the kids to the park or for a walk in the stroller and would follow along with us like a dog. He was such a sweet cat, I miss him dearly.
What a one in a billion personality. He is interactive on a whole level of his own. It looks like his hooman family has been trained properly and those hisses are priceless. ❤❤❤
My bf's cat who he raised from day 1 is extremely human. She learns things way too quickly. I taught her to tap on a laser or brush if she wanted it, so now she repeatedly taps anything she wants. She can also locate wherever I hide the treats if not buried under multiple things. She's really not vocal though, all her communication is standing in front of something looking intently at you or tapping.
Chonk was obviously a Japanese Yakuza boss in his previous life. A man used to getting his way and an incorrigible foodie. LOL Nothing you can do to change my mind:)
I have lost my cat yesterday. He was a big red and white cat, had a thing for shoes, bags and suitcases. Your cat reminds me of him. He was truly special, a strong character and an opinionated cat, with a crazy temperament.
I would just do Your own researches when it comes to feeding cats. I find every 8 hours, and less is more. If the cat is throwing up every day for instance, its definitely eating too much. A cats stomach is the size of a ping pong ball ( keep in mind when providing portions ) . Veterinarians always recommend food that they have company deals with, and its almost always some garbage with corn etc. Never buy food from them in my experience. Read food ingredients carefully before buying. Cats dont need rice, corn, and especially not soy.
Glad you took him to the vet and changed his diet. I had a friend who thought it was hilarious that his cat was obscenely overweight, and, despite many friends pleading with him to take the kitty to the vet. or at least limit its food intake, he continued to allow all-day unlimited feeding. Some cats, especially indoor cats, will literally eat until they pop--- or get feline leukemia, which sadly killed my friends cat far too young. Many indoor cats aren't particularly hungry- they're BORED. Acautionary tale, yes, but I hope it helps some cat owners- or friends to keep them healthy and happy- for as long as possible -
Nah, he was just questioning about the "benefits" of gender reveals, and ask "Why?" to the people watching the video, then proceeds to elaborate his points with food. His speech was so inspiring that I'm motivated to plant fruit trees in our farm.
Reminds me of my Taz. Taz was very talkative. I could have full conversations with him too. He was so expressive that strangers could understand him. And so smart. Such a lover too. He was my shadow. Handsome dark gray tom cat with green eyes. Had to make sure all the other pets in the house were taken care of before he’d snuggle up. He talked so much we’d call him Professor Taz PhD, MD, CFO, DDS, (the list just continued for comedic effect).
@@catnolikevegetals2662 Oh yeah. He’d tell me where bugs were, but I’d have to kill them. When he begged for food, he was tall enough to put his chin on the table and swat at our plates. One of us had to stay at the table to babysit the food from both Taz and the chihuahua, Sissy. We’d call it, “Today’s episode of This Is Not Yours.” His best friends were the hamster, Milo, and the tortoise, Shelly. He tolerated the cockatiel, Taji. Only messed with him like a sibling. Never really attacked. He wasn’t neutered, but not aggressive, never sprayed, always pretty chill. Sissy taught him how to unzip his carrier from the inside. Every time we’d start driving home from the vet, he’d let himself out and sit in the passenger’s seat. All I had to do was open the door and he’d meet me at the door to the porch and try to open the door himself. One day he came out to yell at me to get back in the house. I told him our other cat was taking her good old time. “Tell Sammy to come inside then!” He turned right around and saw her in the bushes. Stood just under the bushes and started yelling at her. Then he’d look at me and “muff…mrumph…huff…muff…” like he was saying “Mommy, she’s not listening! Do something!” Definitely more human than cat. Lol
We had a real talker. Went to a shelter to adopt my little girl a kitty. This one kept reaching out of the cage and grabbing her shirt. She kept looking at the other cats and every time she would get near the cage with this cat she would reach for her. She took notice of it and said, " this one keeps reaching for me ". I said, " I think she likes you and wants you to take her home ". So, we did. My girl was about 5 ish at the time and named her CAThy. She never stopped talking, so we officially named her " Chatty CAThy " and she was my girl's best friend for 17 years. Always adopt a shelter animal. Give an abandoned animal a home and love.
Chonk obviously remembers not having food and when he does not see any around ,it bothers him very much and he is very worried. I had a little (50 pound chow mix ) That almost starved to death , she would even eat the smallest crumbs from the floor. Your cat is definitely a character ( and I mean that in a good way )
The stray cat I took in cares about food but nowhere near as much as she hates having an empty water bowl. Now that I think about it when I took her in she'd been hanging out around my house in the hottest, driest part of summer. She was probably thirsty as hell.
He is an awesome cat 😸. Buddha says that cats and dogs are people who were here before in a DIFFERENT body! I am a Buddhist. Namaste! My heat goes out to all of the people of UKRAINE! Oh my gosh he's just like my boy Moses. Moses passed last year, and watching this just filled me with happy feelings. Moses was the same way, super loud purr, super lovey dovey, loved his food but also had a nasty side. He was one of the only cats I've ever met that had a loud purr, and one of the only cats that let me rub his belly. I miss him a lot.
I feel this cat is a bit like Rodney Dangerfield. That hissing was not anger, but sarcasm. Chonk: "Oh, I'm adopted? Well, you're the loaner no one bothered to get back" Human: "Here's a treat" Chonk: "Oh, you Saint, you"
I would never get tired of Chonk being so talkative. ❤ It would be the silence in the end, that would drive me crazy. 😭 Love EVERY second of every minute you have with your pets. It's not us that spoil them, but they are the ones who spoil us.
What a cool cat. Knows what its like to struggle, doesnt have to struggle now, but knows that if he plays his cards right and shows enough love, he will get love back and everything else provided, and this cat knows what it means to show people he can care for you just as much. I love the talking, I am jealous of that...I feel like a cat showing that much attention, affection and even attitude is a huge sign of respect and appreciation, you are blessed, and so is that cat!

You realize most house cats have more weight cause they lay around and sleep and eat all day... Cats on the streets go out and run and climb and hunt for food. Its not just sitting in a bowl waiting for your cat to get bored. Sorry CHONK isnt tiny and thin lol.
@@troublemakerbros4267 if your housecat is overweight, it's the fault of the owner. You know it's bad for the cat's health and the owner is directly responsible for it.
Thank you for repeating "We're gonna be okay" because that's reassuring to other pet owners. My cat bites me and hisses whenever I sing. To deal with this, I've bought a loud speaker.
My family had a cat that used to bite my mom when she'd sing. She was otherwise the cuddliest cat, just didn't like singing for some reason. I wonder what causes that.
he's adorable! we rescued one from the streets and she was like Chonk...it took about a year bf she fully trusted, but eventually she calmed more. Every so often she will show us a bit of her wild side but she's a sweetie and we love her. ⚘
I brought my cat into acupuncture for nerve, injury to his back- called hyperesthesia. 4 sessions and he’s really calmed mind and body. Really is amazing.
I can't help but think how ballsy an acupuncturist has to be to willingly and purposely stab(being hella dramatic here for comedic effect) ginormous needles into a cat while simultaneously expecting/telling it to "relax & stay calm"😳😂 That person was either a walking Mountain Dew commercial (adventurous as hell), or they wanted to experience an early death in the most painful way possible(via tiny murder mittens) when they chose their profession🤔😂
Yes he's at a very unhealthy weight. He needs exercise/playtime 2x a day and to get off the kibble & canned food. Dehydrated food with added water is best.
Maybe feed him with slow-release puzzle toys, rather than a bowl. A plastic bottle with a hole cut just enough for one little piece to fall out once in a while if he keeps slapping at it.
I have a cat that talks way too much sometimes I'm like BE QUIET! I call him my 'little man' because he just so loud and demanding it's crazy how vocal he is I've never had a cat communicate so much like that it's funny and unique.
LOL...I have the most vocal, communicative girl ever. I 'thought' I've had chatty cats before, but this one takes the cake. She'll have entire conversations with you, mostly because of her need to get the last word in. Sometimes, I'll be like, SHUT UP! I'm trying to hear the news story, and she's drowning out the TV, sitting at my feet looking up meowing away!
I think they're rare! I also am spending time with the mouthiest cat ever. I swear when he comes in of an evening, he is telling me about his day. And more. It's fun to read about other very talky cats here.

I had ginger cat that would eat squirrels whole and leave their tails. He was a viscous bastard, but I loved him. Took almost two years for the bird and squirrel population to build back up on my property after his death. He was buried with his spike collar and a can of Friskies cat food. Armor and a meal for the after life.
The vicious attitude reminds me of our dog. He doesn't like cats at all. Cats and pigeons used to love coming to our compound and making it a temporary home, but no longer after a few incidents. Still love him to bits though
I'm sure the local wildlife didn't appreciate your outdoor cat. Indoor cats live longer lives. Outside cats can be eaten by coyotes, hit by a car, attacked by a roaming dog or poisoned by rat bait left out by other neighbors. There are also evil people that shoot cats. It's not safe outside. Consider building a catio if you get another kitty. Allows them to be outside but safe inside their enclosure.
@J Adams a Catio? While that would prevent them from all possible ‘dangers’, my own cat having been purposefully hit by driver many years ago, it would be nothing but cruel to keep an animal like that so contained. My two cats now, and precious cat (rip) absolutely love exploring gardens in the neighbourhood, I couldn’t take what they love away from them, why put them in a zoo? Furthermore, I imagine it would have to be smaller than the persons overall garden size, (which if so makes it even worse) as who the hell would want a big bloody cage over their garden like that?! Cats kill lots of animals, yes, just the other day my cat killed a frog and a bird, but that dosent mean I’m going to essentially pluck my cats claws/teeth/paws/legs. That’s just life, my cat may be the cause of destruction to the living of animals, but I won’t be.
@@jadams3877 Imagine being confined to a cage for the rest of your life. Yes things can happen to cats outside but they have a better quality of life being able to actually be a cat and explore outside. And hello? Wtf do you think cats diets are? They hunt mice rats and vermin.

This cat can go from cuddly to "WHERE'S MY FOOD!" in a flash 😸
I can so relate, lol.

@@robertko5425 that's horrible...and to think it happens in this country ‼️ I have 3 cats and they have all been fixed!

That was really great! What a cat! What a family! Way to go.
Acautionary tale, yes, but I hope it helps some cat owners- or friends to keep them healthy and happy- for as long as possible -
That sounds abusive to me. When I see fat children with fit parents I also question their motives.
Cat who get feline Leukemia got it from an infected cat.
Also, indoor feline don't eat more than outdoor cats.
That's abuse. I would have reported the idiot.
There’s also a risk of diabetes when cats are overweight.
The cat in the video is very obviously still overweight. You don't need a vet you need eyes. They need to feed him less
Little does Chonks owner know, all he is saying is...
"IS Dinner ready?"
Omg a caretaker cat to the crew. Thank you for sharing his story
Lol
Taz sounds adorable! What a wonderful cat! Beautiful too, the way you describe him; green eyes against dark gray fur.
I had a terrible day and Chonk made me smile and laugh. Thank you Funny and Feisty Feline!!
She never stopped talking, so we officially named her
" Chatty CAThy " and she was my girl's best friend for 17 years. Always adopt a shelter animal. Give an abandoned animal a home and love.
Chonk obviously remembers not having food and when he does not see any around ,it bothers him very much and he is very worried. I had a little (50 pound chow mix )
That almost starved to death , she would even eat the smallest crumbs from the floor.
Your cat is definitely a character ( and I mean that in a good way )
Such a great point!!!
The stray cat I took in cares about food but nowhere near as much as she hates having an empty water bowl. Now that I think about it when I took her in she'd been hanging out around my house in the hottest, driest part of summer. She was probably thirsty as hell.
