I love how whenever you let a cat into your house, they walk around slowly like potential buyers, taking in all the features and commodities. "Yeah, this'll work."
❤️❤️❤️ So true!
Great analogy❣️ 😄
"The kitchen island looks _great_ for entertaining - and by entertaining, I mean sitting on while screaming at 3am."
their checking to see the area is safe to sit in, if you didn't have any furniture they would still walk around near every wall and sniff it out for any predators etc
@@mfitzburger5137 yep, and, "halls long enough for a late night zoom."🤣🤣🤣
I love that she accepts him the way he is. He may never be cuddly. That's okay. He's Mr. Crabs, and she loves him.
Ohh he will be. Rescued feral cats are the cuddliest cats ever!
@@sanjogh777 he'll be sleeping at the foot of her bed in about a week. He loves her💕
My Maine Coon isn’t cuddly. She lets me know when she wants pets my head-butting me. I’m ok with that 💜
@@sanjogh777 Absolutely!
@@sanjogh777 All non-feral cats aren't cuddly, so it doesn't seem likely that all feral ones are. Grandpa Mason, for example, the famous feral kitten carer, never really bonded to humans in the three years he lived at a kitten rescue. The main thing is, she loves the cat she's got, however he turns out to be with her, and that's great to see.
I had a big grey tabby hanging on our property spraying every five feet. I humanely trapped him, neutered him, named him Mister, and released him back on our yard. He hung out and ate and never sprayed again. One day he walked in thru the slider crying for help. His neck was ripped open. Off to the vet for stitches, etc. He never left the house/yard and was the cuddliest cat we ever had. He loved to be held and purred in his sleep. He would greet everyone who came over and slept on his back between us every single night. I miss him so much.
What happened?
@@SteveMarunde He died at 16 yrs of age from stomach virus and couldn't recover. To this day, I have never had a cat who loved to be held like him. We took many naps with him laying in my arms the whole time and had the loudest purr.

Cute. Sorry to hear about his demise, but you gave him a far more comfortable and easier life than he could have ever hard as a stray. Perhaps he realized that seeing how cuddly he was.
I was thinking the same thing, big tom like that will probably leave lots of stinky sprays unless he's neutered.
You cut off his useful hormones and left him vulnerable, that’s what happened.
i love how he was just *hisses at the slightest movement towards him* but also *stays at her doorstep, follows her into her living room, literally just doesn't leave.* He's just as attached to you, even if he tries not to be! Thank you for taking such great care of this cute little grump!!
I'm not in love, so don't forget it
Yeah, his schtick is the grouchy old man but he doesn't quite believe in the character.
like humans, cats can also form anxious attachments. isn't psychology interesting?

@@LuvScorpio I always appreciate cats who choose to adopt rescue humans as opposed to buying one from the people store. 😻
My neighbors had a little black shorthair. She would spend the day flying around my yard and mooching food from the bowls I put out for local strays. On the phone with my bro, I mentioned that she'd be 'mine someday.' When my neighbors moved to Texas, they hesitantly asked if I could take her. I just laughed. I don't think I actually had anything to do with the match; she just picked me. We have an understanding: all pizza boxes are hers.
My baby got hit by a car recently and if my neighbor didn’t drove her to the vet she would be dead now…after she arrived there she called my mom and told her everything while being still in tears. Thank you for saving my daughter and thank you to people that do the same🙏🏻

He struck me as perhaps he was having some physical pain and was saying don't approach me, keep your distance. Aside from possibly being a feral, he just seemed very lethargic. Or as someone else mentioned, that he'd had a pretty rough life.
You can see he's had a hard life, little bits missing from his ears like he's been fighting. Time to turn into a house cat & chill out with such a great lady❤❤

Earning the trust and love of a feral cat, or any cat for that matter, must be one of the most rewarding feelings in life.
It is, I have a feral momma cat and her four year old feral son🥰
They are both neutered and much loved♥️
It takes a special person to be able to do that
Affection from a feral cat is like winning the lottery, so precious♥️
It is, I've done it several times. I love all my cats, they mean the world to me, even the stroppy difficult grumpy ones come round according to their own limits. All different personalities, like people.
I've had or fostered about 13 cats across 32 years and the most rewarding moments are when the feral rescue walks up to you and jumps up on you and sits

Gaining the trust of a skittish feral cat is one of my favorite things in life. Watching them come in the house and chill out with you is such a rewarding feeling. The first time they approach me to initiate petting/attention is such a neat experience.
Well Done, Angela. Your love and patience taught Mr. Crabs it was safe to hand in his feral card. I don’t know what it is about feral Toms - maybe an adaptation to cold weather, but so many of them have those slightly larger, wide faces, that are just so gorgeous and kissable. I hope Mr. Crabs can live out the rest of his life as a much-loved member of your family. He is a VERY handsome boy.
Testosterone.
I believe part of the testosterone comes from hunting and eating wild game + genetics
I read that the side, thick pieces are to act as "shields" for the face. Apparently an unaltered, mature male cat develops some characteristics of a "tom cat". Once altered, some of those physical features decrease and cat can be mellower. I think the Tom features are quite nice looking.
@@jenniferloftus2363 You ae correct. I like the look of Tom Cats, but maybe not some of the grumpy stuff. I know they can calm down, lose some Tom Cat features and become sweeter after being altered. meow
Its a hormonal adapdation that causes their jaws to swell from countless bouts of fighting with other unneutered toms outside. The most alpha tom is the one with the largest face but one of the most affectionate cats we ever had as a family was a great big black British short hair tom, always quick to anger and yet at the first sign of anyone becoming afraid or sad, he'd jump up on your lap and rub his huge face into yours.
My mother was never a cat person (despite my dad adopting well over 8 strays (to my knowledge) over the course of their marriage. My dad would literally walk home and be followed by a stray.
However this big black cat literally determined that my mother would love him no matter what and hed follow her into the bathroom every morning, sit in the mat beside her whilst she had her bath every morning before work.
She had never directly fed him but this cat was determined.
They were all devasted when he died at 14 but he'd lived a very well loved life with us, as did all our cats.
Both my mum, dad and uncle (the family I grew up with), have now passed on but
I've now inherited my late dads cat and she's just begun to be very affectionate with me after 2 years since my dads passing.
So happy to see Mr. Crabs living a good life now. Trust isn't easy when it comes to feral and stray
cats. You have to have patience, understanding and earn the trust. It's not easy, but patience is a must.
Thank you for telling your story.
You should keep him in now. And give him a forever home. Maybe someone abandoned them. What happened to the other cat that got hit by a car.
From my knowledge and experience cats 🙀🙀🙀 are loyal,💖 compassionate, cuddly and cute. But they can be so much more than that too. They can be lifesavers, heroes, nurturers and so on 😍 Tom Terrick
A feral female I named Mama Cat started visiting me because I left a can of tuna out on the porch of the vacant house next door. Mama Cat turned out to be pregnant. For whatever reason, maybe because she was pregnant, she would come to me and let me hold her. One time she brought me a drumstick from someone's trash. She had her kittens and an owl got all but one of them (I need him Baby Kitty, because I'm original that way). Because I was so upset about the owl I got a wire pet carrier with a solid top and made a bed in there for Mama Cat and Baby Kitty. Baby Kitty would never let us touch him(her), and would hiss at me anytime I came near. I was never able to bring Mama Cat and Baby Kitty into the house because I had a dog who was very anti-cat.

I'm so glad Mr. Crabs found a good home. He has a sweet and grateful disposition. Just don't let him outside anymore. God bless little chunky face *kiss*
I always feel like if you let your cat go outside, there's a 50/50 chance of them coming home, in one piece. Never liked those odds, so I keep mine safe, inside. There's a family behind me that used to let their cats out. I'd see them dead, all over the area we live in, which is insanely busy! Never understood it.
@@qmnnvrdyz8965 I agree somewhat cause I do also think it cruel to keep a cat indoors their whole life especially with their wild instincts. I only let mine out back (where it's just gardens, the front is where the street is) and because they're all spay and neutered they don't wander. Fixing your pets makes all the difference. They don't wander as far.. All 10 of mine are always within hearing distance, so if I call them they come running. If you lived in a culdysac that would also be ok to let them out, it's a lot less dangerous. But to NEVER let a cat go outside is cruel imo.. If you live in an apartment, try getting them used to walking on a leash, or allow them on the patio.. SOMEHTING...
A friend of mine let her cat outside, he was skunked twice, got into a few fights, and ended up with FIV (feline HIV)
Yes, please, no more outside!!!!!
@@qmnnvrdyz8965 - My boy started life as a stray; an outdoor cat. And when I adopted him at the age of 6 months it was extremely difficult to keep him inside so I had to let him out. About three or four years ago he came home badly bitten requiring medical intervention. When it happened again about 8 months later he became a full time indoor cat with no exceptions. It took him months to get used to it without constantly nosing at the door and crying to go outside but it was worth the effort. Mango is 12 now and perfectly content to sit in my lap or in the window smacking his lips at the birds or howling at the enemy cats outside who are invading his territory. I couldn't ask for a better companion.
Best cheeks ever! Hard to resist! Thank you for your kindness and rescuing this baby ❤
I really love this. Back in June 2009 we adopted a 12 year old "house feral" name Teia. We gave her 9 1/2 more years, and she came to trust my wife and I, and adopted two boy kittens we adopted when she was 17 1/2.
Reminds me of my cat buddy, Barnaby. He showed up at my house all skin and bones. We made him a big storage bin house in the backyard and fed him morning and night. One day he wasn’t there, so I thought he had been hit by a car and died. I drove the neighborhood looking for him and on my way back, I saw him slowly limping towards our house. I had to use a trap to catch him, then take him to the vet. His front legs were badly injured by a fox or raccoon. I sat with him and gave him medicine morning and night. We kept him in a really big dog kennel until his tests came back and he healed completely. We saved his front legs and he became my little buddy after that. He loved being inside, and was always at my side when I was home.
You are a good person, the best. You saved and transformed that cat's life. He knew where to limp to for help.
Great story! 🐱

@@Transformers2Fan1 do shut up spelling correctors. Did that unnecessary little input make you happy? Feel superior?
@@philiptownsend4026 cope
@@philiptownsend4026 In this case, I think the correction was necessary. It's not just a typo or a spelling issue. It's the _wrong word._
Moreover, "concur" and "conquer" are both verbs, making the error more confusing than it might otherwise be if they had been different parts of speech, because then the error would've been more obvious. I myself had to stop and think and reread the sentence to figure out what the commenter meant.
So in a case like this, there's nothing wrong with making a necessary correction, as long as it's done nicely, without insults or condescension. It also benefits the commenter (and possibly other readers), who will hopefully learn from the experience. "Concur" means to agree, while "conquer" means to vanquish, i.e. win, as in a battle.
If we keep our minds open, we can all learn something. 🙂
@@Milesco OK Sir, maybe in this case the correction was justified but I do wonder if the original writer was pleased to see it and agreed. My dog and I took in a feral kitty that was going to be TNR in early December. She was vetted and spayed, and needed a temporary indoor home while she healed. We really didn't want to release her back into the dangerous world, so she's still with us. She hides all day, but comes out at night to eat, go potty, play and explore. Last month she moved to a spot during the day where I could actually see her. Little by little, she's letting me get closer to her and I can now pet her head for a few seconds before she attempts to swat at me and hiss/growl. I've been giving her cat calming chews and CBD oil since last month and think that's why she's making good progress. I really hope one day she'll go beyond her door in her room to join us. And that I'll be able to kiss her. Thank you for loving the Chonky Mr. Crabs!

You took this handsome guy under your wing and got him to, at first, grudgingly succumb to your kindness. Mr Crabs turned into Mr Mush. You now have a friend indeed, not just a friend in need. Bless your kind heart. Thanks you for caring so much.
So rewarding having a wild cat trust you and develop a bond. Mr. Krabs is so cute, jowls and rbf and all ♥️
I have 5 that started that way. They're addicting!
Haha her sweet voice saying “I know, stop it” at 1:08 is too cute
It seems by looking at his nose he has had his share of cat fights. Happy he found a home. Thanks 😊
From my knowledge and experience cats 🙀🙀🙀 are loyal,💖 compassionate, cuddly and cute. But they can be so much more than that too. They can be lifesavers, heroes, nurturers and so on 😍 Tom Terrick
Mr crabs. Lady is the very best of kitty lovers. Bless her.
Angela, you are such a diamond!! My kitty sends hugs, bunts and resounding purrs all the way from Australia. Bless all that you do...
Absolutely love his name!! So happy you were there to love and take care of him. Guy is built like a tank😻😹😻
Almost looks like he's got some bobcat in him 😸
I have a tabbie cat that is very cute but man, Mr crabs face is so stinking cute! Love, love, love it ❤❤
‘Stinking cute’?! Consider using correct English, not the language of morons.
@@heli-crewhgs5285 1) According to online dictionaries, "stinking" can be an adverb used as an intensive, such as "stinking rich" or "stinking cute".
2) Single quotation marks should only be used for a quote within a quote.
Two glaring mistakes in your comment.
It's funny that you call other people "morons" while simultaneously proving that you are a moron.
love his chubby checks :)
Bless you!! I love it that you didn't give up on Mr Crabs. I too had a relationship with a cat who showed up on my deck. It took 9 months to give him 1 pet as I lay his food dish down. I trapped him, neutered, shots, etc. "Decker" is now integrated with my 4 other boys, The Tribe. He's turned into the biggest love button that follows me everywhere. I think you've given Me Crabs the BEST life. Thank you for sharing your story. It was a nice way to start my Monday
It is so nice she saved him and took him in ! God bless you
