I would also love to hear a self-talk podcast episode! I feel like nursing has so many points where you may feel discouraged or anxious about something and need coping mechanisms!
As a recovering people pleaser --whewwwww self talk has been so so huge. Would love to dig deeper into this -also check the confident care academy channel for all these topics and more!
@@annaSRNA I love the Confident Care channel! I watch all the podcast episodes haha they’re so great!!
I’ve really enjoyed watching your evolution! Keep smashing it! ❤
You’re so kind 🫶🏻 thank you!
You sound just like my son when he was in medical school. The lectures contained very little information when compared to what was really needed to learn. You had to be a highly motivated self learning, very independent. Trial and error with content information. Learning facts that were not on the test (Ugh) was very frustrating...which led to having to train your brain to learn the content on one round of exposure since the volume was massive.
If I had to do it all again, I should have done the CRNA. I just totally left the field after 22 years in ICU and went back to school for a totally different degree. Keep up the good work! I enjoy watching your channel. Here's something interesting... all of my ICU friends eventually left the nursing field except for one. They went back for law degrees, NPs, accounting, finance, and education and never looked back at clinical nursing. Frankly, it's a shame because they were fabulous nurses and their knowledge of ICU care was phenomenal. And now the hospitals wonder why their infection rate is so high, they have return admissions, and mortality rate is up.
I appreciate all of your insight-and agree about turnover. It’s such a shame that hospitals only see the bottom line $$--training and investing in critical care nurses has such a direct result on patient outcomes.
Yes need to know how you make your study guides
I'll film this video on Friday!
stoked to get it up for y'all :)
Great Insights! I'd be keen on seeing the student loan video, fyi:)
