Looking forward to the 1kz info, be interesting to hear temp changes after fitting a top mount and also of power increases enough to feel it with intercooler install. Running 17psi in my 1kz and do a long distance trips with it frequently.
Para bajar la temperatura capaz que te haga falta colocar un intercooler, yo le instale el de una Hilux 1kd, pero se que venden kits para el 1kz, un saludo.
Mate, awesome content. Looking forward for that intercooler! I've heard that over 18psi the stock ct-12 just pushed hot air this seems to align with that and no hopefully the IC will drop it. Front mount I'm assuming? Cheers!
Awesome Mate thank you. I'm actually putting a top mount ic on the truck with an electric fan or two with the temperature gauges I should be able to measure heat soak as well it should be interesting. I am trying to keep my radiator as clear as possible. I'm going to fit a intake temperature gauge on a mate of mine's truck with a front mount IC so I can compare the difference 👍
I do very little highway driving Mainly in the forest Between 30 and 50 kph So I have little air flow through the front of my truck. I love water meth injection But It is no good when you are in the Bush for a week or 2 it runs out. I would like to see your setup Do you have pictures of it up on social media anywhere 👍👍
@@sassall4284 i have heard you can cause damage if you have the wrong value on the fuel resistor for a long time. the timing resistor you can mess around with safely.
Hey bud is there any chance on a more in-depth video on exactly how it's hooked up and why? I installed my boost tee between the actuator and wastegate but am getting surging mostly in second. I also can't hold a boost properly except in 4th and 5th, it varies between 5psi and 15psi and I know fuel cut is at about 15... It feels like I am hitting fuel cut constantly and wondered if I've just done it wrong... Also my boost gauge needle flicks a lot... Any help/pointers would be much appreciated. Also great info in this video, what are your EGT temps tho?
@@AAELMIGER 850 deg? That is piston melting, block warping temps is it not? I'm getting up to 700 deg C (absolute max if I flog it) at the exhaust manifold with stock TM intercooler, unichip tune and 18psi in my Prado and my tuner said not to let it get past 650 deg C. 850 seems high!

@@AAELMIGER thanks for your response. You are talking about "Deg Celsius" here, not "Fahrenheit"? Because I don't think I've ever seen such figures on either of my two 1KZs if you're talking about Deg Celsius. I mean even with turbo boosted at 18psi, fuelling turned up, foot to the floor going up a long hill, I don't think I could hit 800 deg C, even on a warm day. I'm not saying you're wrong, I just want to understand these temps better as I'm about to spend a small fortune on rebuilding my 95 series 1KZ Prado. It's interesting knowing what the limits are so I can work within them.
Hey man how's things I get all my gauges through cooldrive. My boost and EGT gauge is a redarc . My intake temperature gauge is a hulk 4x4 product part number HU6685B
I have a 1kzte and I want to put an intercooler but I cannot find a part to allow me to attach the intercooler to my throttle body. The turbo intake manifold bolts directly to it and even if I cut that it is not round enough to attach the intercooler to it. Finding parts is difficult in the US I was hoping you may know of a solution. It is a 1996 ssr-x kzn185.
My intercooler video will be up soon I custom made the Piece that sits on top of the intake manifold . I would be more than happy to make one up and send it to you.
Good question, i think it is something that just happened with the modifications i have done. i will go through all the modifications i have done in my next video.
I have adjusted the fuel up I have adjusted the timing and brought the boost up I think a combination of all 3 make it rev a bit better . I have changed the diff ratios to 4.8 which also would help the engine Rev up quick

I was wigging out thinking that was your coolant temp until you showed the temp probe haha

How'd the intercooler go mate?
Would you consider a front mount inter cooler + a water/meth install (50/50)? i get 45 degrees Celsius @28psi running highway speed - Turbo Petrol

I’m also currently running a non intercooled 1kz , gonna start modding it soon
I am setting up my intercooler at the moment, I've just been too busy with work. I have almost gathered all the parts I need.

yes check out my resistor mod video. I have done a couple of other things on the fuel side which I might touch base on in my intercooler video

850° pre or after the turbo?
