I was looking for install videos as my GF just bought a kit a few days ago for her Hilux….i then realized it’s this kit lol. Thanks for the thorough video, the NPT fitting on the blanking plate is a nice touch.
I got an 03 Hilux with the 1kz-te engine, I did injectors other day and looked in the intake and its super clean with a thin black coat on it and was soft to touch and remove. All i used was FlashLube diesel conditioner and it keeps it pretty clean. 1ml per litre of diesel and it also keeps seals in the pumps good and not dried out due to less sulphur in diesel.
Hello there I've been finding this video for so long but finally. My turbo sensor wasn't working properly coz the plastic filter was unplugged finally i spotted the proble.
I have error code 33 on my 1kzte, checked both VSv and vacuum hoses, they Are ok. Any suggestions to what to check next? Maybe Trottle valves? The car feels fine, but check engine light is on
Excellent video, what I did was install a thin plate with a 9 mm hole on the header side, that is, I only reduced the diameter 4 years ago, could I try just putting another plate but without a hole?
Hello there i deleted the egr and removed the throttle plates along it and vsvs aswell and there was no check engine light. My question is that by removing the vsv might it be possible for ecu to limit fuel at lower rpms as if egr was there
So now that's it's been a few weeks since this egr delete. How is the vehicle running? I have a 1993 hilux surf with the 1kzte and am thinking of doing this delete
I've done 10,000km since the EGR delete. Vehicle runs great, no issues, get about 9.5-10L/100km (23.5-25 MPG) when driving normally, 80-110km/h. The oil has been much cleaner every oil change as well, not as much soot in it which is to be expected.
Just curious, as a quick and dirty solution could you theoretically just do what you did with the vac lines in order to game the butterfly into acting how you’d like it to and not go through all the trouble of blanking it off?
You need to stop the exhaust gas from coming into your intake. If you don't want to block it off with plates like I did in the video you could theoretically plug the EGR VSV vacuum line, which would leave the EGR valve in the closed position, assuming the diaphragm in your EGR assembly is in tact and has no leaks.
Would you recommend an EGT gauge or not? I notice some hiace sites sell the block off plates for 70 dollars while adding the egt gauge is an added 270 and it's a hard price to swallow. And how do theirs compare to your egt kit? Thanks
A digital EGT gauge and probe bundle is $88 on Auberins.com. That’s what I use and it is great. Make sure you’re comparing apples to apples with EGR kits. The kit I offer has stainless steel block off plates, all OEM hardware and gaskets, OEM vac lines, OEM turbo pressure sensor filter and OEM intake manifold gaskets. Everything you need to do the job thoroughly and completely. Shipping is also included.
Hi tkyou for you videos..cuestion i have the same motor.b i have a problem in the morning to start .i change the glup plug .and i stil have the problem ..i chek the relay and is working what ols culbe the problem tkyou i have a 0rodo fj120 tkyou
Will removing the egr system not cause a massive issue with the engine? My hilux surf 1kz is my daily, I badly want to get rid of the egr but have my worries of compromising the engine.
The 1KZ EGR delete is a common mod that has been done on hundreds of 1KZ engines. There are 1KZ models out there that actually came stock without the EGR system at all, depending on which market it was sold in.
I'm new to these engines, does yours have a inner cooler? Maybe in front. Mine is on top of engine. Do they all come factory with inner cooler on top of engine?
@@BRWfilms There are 1KZ models with and without intercoolers. The engine in the video does not have an intercooler. The factory intercooler is a top mount; any front mount intercoolers are aftermarket installations. The kit works whether or not you have an intercooler.
Hi there just come across your vid really good and helpful. I’ve been thinking about doing this mod for a while but couldn’t find a kit here in the uk. What would a complete kit be to send to the uk
Gudday I have a 04 1kzte hilux with electronic control not cable like your Prado, will this kit still be compatible? And can you send me the link for it cheers.@@kubesengineering
@annabanna666 why are you even watching this video if you do not know what a egr delete is? Like how the he'll did you come across this video, decide to watch it, then have the cheek to ask what does this mod do? Like what!? Are you that dumb? How many vaccines have you had? Did you get your booster shots too? Do some research 🤡
Hi, very helpful video, I live in the UK. I have looked on Auber re the EGT thermocouple and the gauges, the panel that your gauges are contained in is not listed. I will be in touch re the EGR delete kit. I should mention that it might be an idea for you to renew your glow plugs, use HKT Japan and your injectors, Denso from Japan, depending on your mileage. The glow plug tips often disintegrate sometime after 100,000 miles or 10 years. If this happens it could destroy the engine. YT link; ruclips.net/video/W7A4Sdo8AVs/видео.htmlsi=49OmVQq-EEa2pVGN. I am also thinking of maybe upgrading my 1996 Hilux Surf with an after market front fitted intercooler kit from Aus.
Thanks, I changed out glow plugs and injectors already. Here are some pictures of how I ended up mounting my gauges, on a custom cut panel: forum.ih8mud.com/threads/1kzte-ultimate-egr-delete-kit.1340318/

Great video, with great command of the English language! A video rarity on these rhd Toyota trucks!
Very good detailed information bro... Keep it up
How good are these engines? Thinking of getting a cheap Prado
have a 1997 land cruiser prado 1KZ-TE. do you have the part number for the EGR VSV? is there a US equivalent?

Thanks man !!! i got the same KZJ95 and i was puzzled about the VSV operation and purpose !
Waiting for an intercooling video :)
Thanks! What are you looking for in an intercooling video?

Hey what kit did you use? I’m in the US. Also the EGT thermocouple did that plate come with that kit?
I make and sell the kit. Email me if you’re interested kubeseng@gmail.com
This must be the only mod that is easier on a HiAce because of the engine back access ehhe
Way easier on a hiace!

Yes, you can have the EGR completely blocked on the 1KZTE. I believe the small hole is necessary on the 1KD to not trip an error code.

The way you spoke about the EGR delete kit, it sounded like something you were offering. Do you have a site or something?
I sell the kit, description in comments. Email me kubeseng@gmail.com

its good to have egt to monitor exhaust temps, but you cand find for much much cheaper than that

What size caps are you using in this video?
Will I have to remove the entire exhaust manifold to get the thermocouple inside that blanking plate? I know it's pretty tight back there...
No, the exhaust manifold stays on like in the video. If you remove just the heat shield like I did in the video it will give you sufficient room.

How hard would this be on a hiace can you read the egr bolts ?
This job is 10x easier on a Hiace since the back of the engine is easily a accessible once you remove the carpet and access panel.
where can you buy a intake pipe
Intake pipe for my vehicle is part # 17113-67011. You can likely get one used on ebay or online from another used parts source.
What is the cap size?
Where did you buy the kit from? Thank you!
