      @@reubenmorris487 an EGR recirculated exhaust gas, whenever that valve opens, is depleting the engine from air, so essentially whenever the valve opens it’s depleting engine power, but I can see why trucks would use them as they go on long hauls and at that point emissions may be more important than engine power.

      @@Bestbuilt04please I need help , please give me your opinion . I have the code P219A in a 2016 Honda , I already did electrical testing on MAF , MAP , Coils , spark plugs have only 7,000 miles , I removed them and they look clean , I removed the EGR and I cleaned it , I removed the injectors and did electrical test and cleaned them , I can’t find the problem. A mechanic told me it is a leak . Apart from the check engine light the engine has less power, and when I accelerate I feel the engine stalling a little bit, when the car is parked with the engine ON I hear a weird noise in the muffler like a leak . A mechanic told me it was a leak . So today I bought a smoke machine and the EGR has like vents and is leaking smoke from there , is that normal ? Should I buy a new EGR ?

    • @Bestbuilt04
      @Bestbuilt04 2 месяца назад +2

      @@Michael-iu1gv hmm that’s tough to say as I am still learning as an apprentice, what I can say is it wouldn’t be the egr causing your engine to stall as many diesel engines operate without them. All it does is recirculate exhaust gas back in. As for the code, my knowledge on Hondas is limited and you might be better off going to the dealership or checking online forums.

    Both EGR and Direct Injection, CC ventilation getting sucked back through the throttle body/intake and gumming up the intake valves as well as lowering the octane rating. Low tension piston rings, particulate filters, catalytic converters and finally extended oil change intervals, ALL contribute to slowly suffocating and destroying an engine.
    An engine from the 1970's and 80's were more fuel efficient, size for size! LOL.

    How often is valve is opened/ closed?
    What signal tells the valve to open...and by how much?
    How are potentiometer signals utilized on valve operation?
