I have not yet tried an EC9s but it is basically the LC9s with a few tweaks and I have no reason to believe it will be unreliable (the LC9 and LC9s were reliable). Another one to look at is the Diamondback DB9 Gen 4, we have a review on that as well.
I have had my LCP II 22lr for about a little over a year, fired about 250-300 CCI mini mags through it and it broke. I couldn't pull the trigger., it was like it never reset. Same issue, trigger felt like it never reset. Anyone else have these issues? I think Ruger is more intent on getting guns out the door rather than making quality guns. It wasn't like this when Bill Ruger was alive.

“The LCP II’s are actually known to be quite reliable.” You should tell my .380 LCP II that. I bought it last August 2019 and today had to send it back to Ruger for the 3rd time. One of the most unreliable guns I’ve owned, only thing worse was a Kel-Tec I bought 20 years ago.
Put a bit of Red paint on the front site and there is no problem seeing the site no real reason to have anything different from the sights made to shot close up
" Well designed gun ", eh ? I got a Ruger LCP Max, probably the best carry 380 in history, as soon as they came out. Then.........a few years later, Ruger came out with this 22. In their adversising splash they say........(PARAPHRASED)........ " Hey, all you Max owners that love to practice, but don't like the price of ammo, or can't shoot all day without some discomfort from recoil. DO WE HAVE THE SOLUTION FOR YOU. Us good guys at Ruger give you a virtual copy. in 22......so you can practice as long as you want and spend way less on amo " BUT.......Ruger's Max WISELY has no external saftey, and the mag release is swappable. SO....claiming the 22 is a " trainer " is LYING OUT THEIR ASS.......because it has neither feature. In fact, it follows Ruger's now corporate policy, as in the Security 380 and other recent semi-autos, of FUCK THE LEFTIES. ( but don't call them to inquire about it, as they are rude, tell you if you don't like it to go elsewhere, and then slam the phone on you) What has happened to Bill's company ?????
Military uses a center fire 22 caliber round called 5.56. The 22lr ammo that this little pistol uses is well known for not being the most reliable (compared to center fire) since it is rim fire ammunition. 22lr often won't fire even with a good hit, therefore most people, or military, don't use it for Defense. It is great for practicing and for a cheap day at the range to plink with. Can be used for varmint hunting too, but not for reliable self defense. Choose the 380 version of this for defense.
MikeyinFlorida is correct. The diameter of the bullet is the smallest part of the overall picture in this case. The velocity of the .223/5.56 in the AR-15 is significantly higher and the bullet is 50-80 heavier, resulting in much more energy. The center-fire design is drastically more reliable.
That was the snapcap (inert dummy round) that had been used when demonstrating the trigger. The gun was verified clear at the beginning of the video and there was no live ammo present at the table.
Why, why do we always have to listen and watch, gun video makers shoot firearms at the beginning of every single video? Fellas, if you're making a gun video odds are that you can shoot.
Same reason car reviewers drive the vehicle. It is not about whether or not I can shoot but how the gun behaves when shooting. Comparing my shooting across our videos from one gun to another can give you a baseline to see how recoil, speed to acquire, potential accuracy, etc would be on a gun. Everybody handles a gun differently but once you see how a particular person does then you can start to draw conclusions by comparing how they do with one gun vs another.

Too bad on both counts. Never owned a Ruger, but my 20 yr old P32 is reliable as a brick.
Too bad Ruger is in love with manual safeties and magazine disconnects.
Sights!?! No need for sights for a conceal carry, self defense gun. Normally it will be at close range and quick fire.
"channel claiming tool", then sub'd
Put a bit of Red paint on the front site and there is no problem seeing the site no real reason to have anything different from the sights made to shot close up
Shot this at range today pos jammed like crazy, Glock 44, mp 22 much better options
Make an interesting .22 magnum.
Us good guys at Ruger give you a virtual copy. in 22......so you can practice as long as you want and spend way less on amo "
BUT.......Ruger's Max WISELY has no external saftey, and the mag release is swappable.
SO....claiming the 22 is a " trainer " is LYING OUT THEIR ASS.......because it has neither feature.
In fact, it follows Ruger's now corporate policy, as in the Security 380 and other recent semi-autos, of FUCK THE LEFTIES.
( but don't call them to inquire about it, as they are rude, tell you if you don't like it to go elsewhere, and then slam the phone on you)
What has happened to Bill's company ?????
.22 is a good defensive round. an AR-15 has a .22 cal bullet and we go to war with it (the machine gun version of it anyway)
The center-fire design is drastically more reliable.
...I was career military, 31 years, we didn't have machine guns you dipstick...you just revealed you live in mommie's basement playing video games...
Sights. Not ambi at all. I wanted to like this, but.... Great review though. Thank you.
Thank you.
as I lefty I don't care, my middle finger is my mag release
🥰💯
Hard to aim as you drill holes in the middle of the target
Did anyone notice he violated primary safety rule- make sure the gun is unloaded.
There was a 22 in the chamber that fell out on disassembly. Yikes!
That was the snapcap (inert dummy round) that had been used when demonstrating the trigger. The gun was verified clear at the beginning of the video and there was no live ammo present at the table.
@@HammerStriker Thanks for clarifying.
Great video
POC - lousy trigger, worthless sights, and requires a loading tool to load the .22 LR clip! What more could be done wrong, Ruger?
