      @Stefano Dawg Advancements in other weapons and ammunition, mainly. That and the need to carry more rounds. I'd rather have a .357, 44mag, 10mm etc. against a drug-crazed maniac than a .380 or 9mm, but we're poorer than the government's police and military (even in other countries) and the need to have a gun concealed, and thus have a smaller gun, makes us less of a target. Everyone knows the local cop has a gun on him...
      my two cents.

    As a new shooter I enjoy the LCP II 22lr and have gone through multiple shooter training sessions and various shooting drills with stationary and moving targets. While I am still somewhat slow drawing & shooting from a concealed holster in 1.5 sec I am reliably (with multiple hits) engaging the various targets (incl. hostage taker targets) with the LCP II 22lr. Also enjoy shooting my wife's P17 or her TX22.

    The dollar bill size reference is really cool I’m looking at this video trying to find a small but effective low recoil hand gun to get my wife into shooting and trying to find a gun that fits her hands while not holding very many hand guns in my life time it’s been hard to judge the size of the guns compared to peoples hand as they vary in shape and size but the dollar is the same rectangle it’s always been. Great presentation is just subscribed. I just bought the 22 version.
    I am surprised Ruger does not make these a little more ergonomic for the safety and for lefties. Bang out of the park with the small 10 round 22 though a much larger round magazine would sell like crazy. People love to shoot a 22.
    I think round count is seriously underestimated as an important factor to manufactures. Many of us when picking up a pistol the first thing we think of is round count and how that limits our defensive punches. A small 22 like this with 15 to 20 rounds would be fantastic. But fix the safety and ambidextrous issue.

    I would carry the LCP ii in .22LR if I had to. I currently own one in .380, However, my experience with .22LR even in a reliable firearm, is that the round is more likely to fail to fire than a centerfire pistol round. Buying quality ammo and making sure it functions reliably through your firearm is a must if you intend to use it for self defense. Even then, I would practice clearing the chamber until it becomes second nature.

      I wish my LCP II 380 had a safety! I hate not having one!

    • @markbest5127
      @markbest5127 3 года назад

      The safety is actually designed on a good way that as you draw, you can flock it forward easily, OR, when drawing, slide the gun against your belt or pants (or inside pocket) and it moves the safety into fire position.

    Should have used the 1911 swipe safety if manufacturer puts a safety on the pistol. Once the safety is swiped down, keep the thumb high and on the safety. Helps to control the recoil as well as a better grip for sighting.

    To pull the pin I have found a polymer channel cleaner works and won’t scratch the gun.

    For just caring the non extended mag obviously is nice, however the control gained on shooting the extended mag is worth it. Cant recommend it enough if you hate shooting your .380. I pretty much hated this gun until I got the extended mag. jmo

    them guns are so close even though 380 is not my favorite i would have to go with that for a ppw ..not going to be looking for 50 yards out of it more like 50 feet or less.. i like both

      @BADD1ONE 4 года назад +1

      More like 20 feet. The 380 is accurate. But takes time to sight in at more that 20 feet. I've shot 1000 rounds out of mine. Federal hst 99 is it's best friend. Has great penetration at close range.

    Thanks for a great video. I like the cocking ears on the 22. Are the slides interchangeable? From price point, I got the 380 for $199, I'm sure 22 deals will follow. I've always been Leary of a single action hammer fired gun with no safety. But not too crazy about the magazine disconnect. Interested to see if Ruger will make the next version of 380 with ears and safety.

    You said frame was same on both guns. Could you swap magazines & slides. In other words does the 22LR slide and magazine work on the frame that came with the 380. Or vice versa. I love your videos. Hope to stop and thank you so day from Pennsylvania. Thanks.
