Omg I finally found a tutorial for this! I was just randomly placing stitches until I got the number I needed and it always came out gross. Thanks a lot!
Awe 🥰 Yay!! I'm so glad you found it helpful. Happy making!
i guess I'm kinda randomly asking but do anybody know of a good place to watch new series online?
@Raiden Killian Flixportal :D
@Elliott Evan thank you, I signed up and it seems like they got a lot of movies there =) Appreciate it!

Ma'am, you're doing the lords work here! Bless you my child, may the divine over crochet smile upon you.
😂 Thank you!
OMG thank you so much! This is the first time I have found a tutorial that actually explains how to get the correct stitches.👍AMAZING!!!!
Aw! Thanks for letting me know. I'm so glad it helped you 🥰
I really appreciate how clear you explained the mystery of rib
counting .
I'm glad it helped you!!
I had this very question come to me while working on a cardigan. I decided to see if someone did a tutorial on this issue. I found you! I am so glad I stumbled on your tutorial. Thank you for sharing this technique. 😊
I'm so glad I was able to help you!
Literally the best explanation ever
I'm so glad you think so! Thanks for watching :D
This is fantastic!! Thank you for sharing :)
Thank you so much for this tutorial, I have struggled with this simple task so often and now its easy peasy. Subscribed.
Yay!! I'm so glad it helped 💕 Thanks for letting me know and for subscribing!
Thanks for this!
You've just saved my sanity! 😁
Awe! Gooood! That's always something worth saving 😉😂
This is great - thank you! I'm starting your Double Take Tunisian Tank, and only made a few garments so far, and haven't EVER made a garment using Tunisian crochet before. I practiced the Tunisian stitch quite a bit first just to get used to it (and to make gauge), and had finished my ribbing, but wasn't sure how to proceed evenly. You had this tutorial linked right in your pattern, and it makes it so clear and less scary, lol! Thanks!
Aw good!! That makes me so incredibly happy to hear. Thank you for letting me know 🥰 I how you love making and wearing your DDTT!
This is soooooo informative..thank you so much ❤️
You're so very welcome! I'm glad you found it helpful 😄
This SAVED meeee thank you so much!!! ❤
I'm so glad I could help!
Holy moly it worked and I got a negative number! Thank you so much! This is awesome!!
Yaaay!!! You're so welcome. Glad I could help 🥰
this is genious, thank you so much!
This is my hubby’s RUclips account - but HOLY GUACAMOLE is this the coolest trick ever. 🤯
Well, thank you 😂😂 I'm so glad you think so!
thank you great info great video.
I'm glad you liked it! Thank you so very much for the feedback 😊
Thanks!😊
Ohh that's super helpful! I'm following a pattern that increased the stitch count 1.5 times compared to ribbing like in your first example - and while I've figured I need 3 stitches for every 2 rows of ribbing, I was going crazy planning the placement and had no idea I can simply increase every 2nd row 😅
I'm so glad I could help! 😄
Thank you so much
My pleasure!!
Awesome 👏🏻 That’s a great explanation!
Awe! Yay! I'm glad you think so 😊
I am about to start making your sweater I can’t remember the name of. 🤣🤦🏻♀️ follow is in the name. I’ve never made a garment of any kind, but it was love at first sight. I have no clue what I’m doing but this video made a lot of sense, so after the ribbing,
I am hoping I’ll know how to proceed! 💕 thanks so much!
Ah! The Follow You Sweater!! One of my favorites. I'm so glad this video helped you begin. I hope you enjoy making/wearing it ❤️
Thank you for such a clear explanation!
My pleasure!! Glad you liked it ❤
Wow I knew crocheting involved math, but this is genius. You need to change the / to ÷ because that can confuse some people.
SO muuuuch math 😂 and thanks for the feedback!
By the way I also subscribe to your channel so informational! I can’t say it enough lol
🥰 thank you!!
My mind was blown at "valleys & mountains"😁🤭 thank you so much! very informative video🥰
You're so welcome! I'm so glad you found it helpful ❤
You can also count the mountains by 2, makes it a lot faster!
Omg I’m so pleased to find this. The problem I’m having is this: I need 154 sts, I have 84 rib stitches. Your equation says I should Inc every 1.2 sts but if I put 2 sts in every sets I end up with 168 sts. What am I doing wrong?
Hi!!! I am attempting to do the bobblicious sweater and im struggling with the numbers Im supposed to have 63 stitches and i did 101 ribs which gives me -38 and 2 but when I apply this I end up missing like 10 stitches haha… does anything of this sound right to you? Thanks for your help in advance
OMG you are a saver!!!! Thank you
I'm so glad it helped you!
I must be doing something wrong. I am custom testing your UnfailingV tank. I don't know the the number of stitches that I am supposed to use in the equation. Please help
I need help with working 107 dc evenly over 59 rows?
I need to do 107 double crochet across 59 ribbing what would I do.
What if we have to make same no of dc with same no of ribbing stitches. Like 80 stitches of ribbing and have to make 80 dc for set up row. I tried and it creates spaces.
Silly question. If my ribbing is 105 stitches and the row along the ribbing says pick up 131 stitches am I right in that I do an extra stitch every 4?
can anyone help me with this? I need to crochet 81 sts across 74 rows of ribbing. So 81-74=7. Then its 74/7=10. I'm not sure what to do with that '10'.
I’m doing your Bobblicious sweater pattern but I’m soo stumped on the equation still.. my rows of ribbing are 143 and per your directions I must make 63 stitches . I got -81 for my difference and -1 for how often I will decrease... does that sound right ? And if so how do I decrease ? Thanks so much!
Awe! I want to first thank you for supporting me by purchasing a pattern 🥰 As for the # of rows of ribbing you have 😳 That's quite a difference! Would you mind emailing me a photo of your ribbing?? Kkrochets@hotmail.com 😊
Im making a soundstooth sweater and my pattern doesn't say how many stitches I need to put into my ribbing. I currently have 81 rows (going to add 2 more) I was wondering if maybe you knew how many stitches I should have in this scenario?
I recommend clicking the link to the worksheet listed in the description to figure out the # of sts you need 😊
Hi I have a pattern where the person says if I have 62 rows of ribbing that if I do your equation I should get 73 stitches. I keep counting it over and over and it won't work I keep getting either 74 or 75 stitches to use the whole 62 rows of ribbing
So if my number is 4 and I have to crochet a decrease... My decrease finishes on every 4th stitch? So...sc,sc, decrease ?
Im not op, but that sounds right to me! Good luck:)
Exactly!!!
I have a wonky equation and I need help. Its 63-57=6 and then 57/6=9.5(9)... I follow this but I end up with so many rows of ribbing left. Any idea what I might be doing wrong
are you putting your hook in the right loops?
Good morning Arionia! Sorry for the delay. Hm... If you're placing your hook once in each row, there should only be 3 rows of ribbing left. Here's the math behind that: 9*6=54, 57-54=3
but what if you don't follow a pattern, but have 30 rows of ribbing and if i did 30 single crochets across it looked weird... :( the video is really helpful but I'm trying to create my own patterns :(
Okay! So have you made a gauge swatch? If so, you'll need to make sure the # of sts worked across the ribbing add up to the same measurement of the ribbing. (Example: your gauge is 16 sts = 4". That equals 4 sts per inch. Now, lets say your ribbing measures 18" across. You would need to work 72 sts across to equal 18". Does that make sense?)
So just to be clear, when you are crocheting across the ribbing, you are not crocheting in the part that looks like the peak of a mountain, right? You are just crocheting the stitches that look like loops on the sides of the ridge, correct?
I believe the mountains you're referring to are the beginning ch 1's which count as a ribbing row, so as long as you place your hook once (unless it's an inc) per row, you should be good!
I can't make this work for me!? I have 90 rows of ribbing, I need 66 sc's, so according to the maths, I should be ending my decrease on each third stitch. I've done it twice now and I've gotten 58 each time! Help please!
I believe I emailed you back! Let me know if that helped 😄
Im having the same problem! I have 71 rows, needing to sc evenly across 51, leaving me with a decrease every 3rd and I cant get more than 48. Please advise
came here but not following a pattern so now I am like noooo!!!
Oh no 😂 This can be a bit intimidating at first but once you understand it, it's easy!!
Where. On earth. Do I put the stitches. WHAT-?! “Go into the first stitch” WHERE IS IT-
You covered with your thumb 😩😩😩
I cannot see WHERE to place stitches across a ribbing. You keep putting your thumbs in the way. Truly frustrating. My need is not for the math but for the stitch placement. Sigh
