- We bought this car sight unseen, off the internet. It was the cheapest one we could find but what we didn't know is that it was broken. As usual, that's when things got interesting...
Then it's off to the track for a good old thrashing.

you can do similar analysis of your driving by hand by exporting gps data from your phone, but yeah, having it done automatically while you're driving is pretty amazing.
I don't know your residence but that's Australian Dollar which would be about £950/$1300 which is somewhat expensive still but if you are that keen on lap times it's a somewhat fair investment depending on circumstances obviously though

I haven't really looked at the Garmin in detail but based off what's in this video, a phone with one of the track apps and an external GPS will be able to do the exact same for much, much cheaper

Hi everyone of the mcm family I'm a huge fan and have been following you guys for years and have learned so much and helped me be able to work on my own vehicles. I'm a subaru fan as well. I'm not sure if Marty or moog will see this but I recently had a house fire and lost everything including my favorite mcm puzzle and calendar and merch. I would lovee to buy more merch again when I'm able to and figure out what's going on with everthing, I just dont think I'll ever be able to get the puzzle again. If anything I would love to be able to get a chance to chat with them it would be so much. 7:16 Wider tires on the front introduces oversteer on a notoriously understeered car. We've got 265 front and 235 rear on our Debocho race car. Handles very nice according to Justin Bell!

@@totisa93 you have to look at drivetrain bias, ALL awd rally and road race cars run reverse staggered setups unless they are running a very low front drive bias, otherwise it'd just understeer constantly.. educate, THEN post comment.

@@MickeyD100 Nah I'm pretty sure it's just a gaint softbox room, they have those in a lot of camera studios. A lot of the time presenting they're in front of the floor lights which results in the weird shadows. The car by contrast catches the floor lights at the correct angle and has more defined shadows.

I think inline 5’s sound really good in general. They have a sort of throaty sound that’s like a bit of tame v10. Makes we want a Volvo wagon.
my 2001 v70 t5 was 800 bucks, 5k later and its basically a racecar. really nice cars man.
Volvo wagons are sick. The 2.5 turbo and the 2.4 sounds really good once you open them up a bit and you can't beat the good ol' sleeper wagon supercar thing xD
The volvos still sound better imo.
My first car was a 1996 Acura TL 2.5 when I told everyone it was a straight five they thought I was a poser and didn't know about cars. Until they actually saw it. Needed a lot of work but drove smooth. Great car for it's time.

Neighbor has a ttrs, that engine wakes the dead on cold start
They have a button which opens up a valve on the rear silencer. When it starts cold the valve opens up automatically to allow more flow. Your can’t stop it from happening.

I'm not saying the Ford or Volvo have no torque. I'm just saying that the Audi inline 5 has a much higher (stock) power output than any Volvo or Ford with the simular engine.

Not in an S70. S/V90s and S60/V70s have I6s. S70s (as with all p80 platform cars - 850s and S/V70s) were strictly I5s.
You could get anywhere from 2lt to 2.5lt, naturally aspirated, low pressure turbo, high pressure turbo or diesel - but they were all 5 pots.

I don't think there is a 5 cylinder Volvo that gets close to the power the RS3 makes, at least in standard form. S60R was about the most powerful T5 and that was around 300bhp. The really quick Polestar models used the IL6 engine.
@@ferrumignis You can pull big power from the T5 engine (even the 850ies), but the suspension and brakes would never keep up with the audi. Probably the same is true for the s60
I could see a C30 T5 with some mods at least putting on a good show...until it ran out of grip with that FWD drivetrain. :-P

Update: Yes. Yes it was.
I have a base golf 6 with the 5 cylinder engine!!! I love that engine and how it sounds almost somewhat like a lambo up in the rev range. I ditched the 2 giant mufflers and put a flowmaster super 10 for the perfect sound. Stage 1 tune with intake puts out 190hp. I love it!

The RS3 is one of my favorite cars ever.
The 2.5L has been a favorite engine of mine since 07 when I bought my MKV, Which I still daily 300k miles later. My A3 was one of my favorite cars I’ve owned, including my MKVII.
This is a dream car for me. The sound of that 2.5 is divine and the look of the A3 is just perfect.
I cannot wait to see what y’all do with this.

The best type of daily driver. I track my Volvo 940 several times per year, 440 hp turbo, rwd fun.
Yeah man, I tracked my daily for years. Even if you do intend on the car being just a daily, it can be super helpful to understand how the car behaves on track, even on the road. You'll know how the car responds, if you need to do a sudden lane change to avoid a crash, for example, or how good your brakes are, for example. Take your daily to the track... Life is too short not to

I think I’d prefer the rusty Nissan. I am sure this a real good car. But Audis (and to certain extent BMWs) have a reputation in the UK as being driven by a certain kind of person that rhymes with Hunt.
I prefer the crusty nuggets tbh but each to their own still very entertaining

@@jacobdean2769 well it isn't always true but most people have come across one of the Hunts. You know. Your driving on a fast road and youre not going slow at all, and there's a car driving like 1ft off your bumper. It's an Audi or a BMW.

I think we all would agree, it would have been far more interesting if Moog had bought an old school Quattro instead of this DSG fart box.
Imagine an Audi Quattro rally build; A Group B inspired, flame shooting, 5 speed shifting, dirt munching monster.
Nothing like an inline-5, I loved my Volvo S60R with one resonator removed.
