I turned down the chance to do one of these a few months ago and that was using 2 hands to do the job. Respect for you there my friend. Nice tip with the torx screwdriver to unscrew the shear bolts. I have a punch I have sharpened to a very long tiny chisel end to knock the bolts loose. It bites really well into the head of the shear bolt. Thanks again
They are called ‘shear bolts’ due to the head shearing of them when tightened. This is to deter thieves from trying to steal the vehicle. I didn’t show them being removed as explained around 1min 10secs. The best way I have of removing them is a long dot punch & small hammer, tapping them anti clockwise. They can be a little slow but otherwise aren’t too bad to remove. Good luck with it 🤞👍
They are 8mm & 1.25 thread I believe. A very standard Allen key head bolt & 6mm Allen key to tighten. I just tap them out with a dot punch and then put a hacksaw cut across the shear head so I can tighten them with a flat screwdriver 🤔🤔
@@kennedysgarage3281 it sure did, i even managed to do it without taking off the steering wheel which saved a bit of time but the video gave the confidence to take it on 👍.
