For me, joint first with Batman Begins! Yep, I prefer both of them to TDK!! This was a perfect blend of being a detective story about a serial killer, and being about Batman's development, about becoming more of a hero, becoming more subtle (the three different ways in which he gets into the club!), and also about the Wayne legacy, warts and all.
It's the most accurate Live Action Batman movie ever made, that's why I consider it the best, when we're talking in terms of just Batman movies. But as a movie, it's tied with The Dark Knight if not slightly lower, verrrrrry slightly though.
The opening scene where Bruce has his monologue, the music blasting, criminals fearing the shadow of the unknown, and then hearing Batman’s heavy footsteps walking, was a masterful scene. Really shows the essence of Batman in this movie.
wait a second... you're saying in a situation where that one guy is about to get beat up by a whole GANG of guys and possibly not just be irreparably damaged but actually killed, it made total and complete sense for batman to be walking up the stairs so slowly that it was literally the pace of one flight of stairs PER MINUTE, possibly allowing the guy to die, JUST FOR DRAMATIC EFFECT is an epic, masterful choice?...the utter stupidity and pretentiousness of that didn't hurt your brain?... this made sense to you? i'm so tired of you people... this is so discouraging
I love the double fake out on whether the Riddler knows Batman's identity. At first he definitely knows, but the letter is fireproof. Then he addresses him as Bruce, until you realize it's just a psychotic rant. These subtleties really add to the character. He has the intellect to figure it out, but he's so psychotically consumed by his revenge mission that he refuses to see that his hero and his enemy are the same person
Here’s the thing. The irony was that you could say “the evidence was all there” concerning Batman’s identity from riddlers point of view, but he can’t imagine his psychopathic fantasized version of his idol somehow being Bruce Wayne. No matter how true or obvious, he could never come to terms with that idea. This is even funnier when you consider when riddler said “you mean you didn’t figure it out?”
This is the only thing I can't get behind when it comes to the movie. Riddler 1,111% knows who Batman is, and it's like he says Unmasking him is not the point.
I really liked Robert Pattinson's Batman and the whole "he's still Batman 24/7, an isolated young boy with zero social skills" phase. This must be a slap to the haters that give him hell for accepting the role. The whole casting, even the extras, where killing it, amazing performances. Riddler stealed the show in every scene, loved this new Catwoman and Gotham feels like Gotham, the aesthetic and music on point, I see also the Arkham games influence.
Btw, Riddler does NOT know Bruce Wayne is Batman. That "For the Batman" card was for Batman to collect and see after he has reached the crime spot, finding a dead Bruce Wayne there, just like what happened with the Mayor, Commissioner and DA, and after they were murdered, Batman collected those cards from each crime scene.
Hearing the Batmobile start up in the cinema was something else man. The tension that it brought was amazing. Especially since it was so loud in there.
Matt Reeves directed his ass off in this movie So much of this movie was just well done. Rob's acting, Paul's acting, Zoe's acting, Colin's acting, Turturro's acting, all the characters were well developed with motives and arcs that felt complete, the character of batman and the relationships he has with everyone else are not only fleshed our but deeply understood, just a well made film. Whether it's your favorite is up to you (I'm still a dark knight guy) but it's definitely an incredibly well crafted movie.
Absolute facts to all of this. My favourite is still Batman 89 but The Batman is a close second now because you have to commend how well done this film was. It’s the most comic accurate Batman to date and it was just such a great experience.
Love the amount of references from comics they fit into this. Serial killings beginning on Halloween: The Long Halloween Batman suit aesthetic: New 52/Telltale/Arkham Origins Catwoman aesthetic: Year One Thomas Wayne saving Falcone: The Long Halloween Colson refusing to snitch: Ego Catwoman being Falcones daughter: The Long Halloween Wayne family involvement in corruption: Court of Owls/Telltale Flooding of Gotham: Zero Year/No Man’s Land Probably missed way more, just so much for a comic book fan to pick apart!
I would say the Batsuit is more like Lee Bermejo's Noel and Damned, with the cowl taking a little bit of inspiration from Gotham by Gaslight, but the rest is pretty spot on.
Martha being an Arkham on her mothers side is from Geoff John’s Earth One. Martha is an Arkham on her mother’s side and a Kane on her fathers. The Wayne, Kane, and Arkham are founding families of Gotham. I hope they tie that in with the court of owls.
There's also the Hush references: The reporter who threatened to expose Martha's history had the last name Elliot (as in Thomas Elliot, aka Hush), and a bit more on the nose the word "Hush" over Riddler's film reel exposing that truth.
This is by far the most comic inspired graphic novel feeling Batman film to date, Matt Reeves screenwriting mentor was Jeff Loeb most known for writing some of the most iconic Batman comics including The Long Halloween,Dark Victory, Hush the list goes on. This movie was set up from the start to be a comic lovers paradise
1:03:45 Don't know if you notice but this is a parallel to the first scene where Batman saves someone but the victim just say: Please, don't hurt me. Compare that to this scene, where she doesn't want to let go of Batman
I love how emo he is i mean he lost his parents and Robert himself said that it's like Bruce never really got over his parents' death, its like he's been grieving his whole life, that's why he's such a recluse that lives with a weight on his back, feeling that he has a duty to protect the city and hopes to see it changing for the better. The things he does for the city, the batman, is all he has left and i just love how human batman is in this movie. Also the detective vibe really made me feel antsy in a good way i loved it sooo much. And the way the scenes were shot especially that car chase scene like the sounds of the batmobile got me goosebumps and the catwoman's POV ughhh soo good!! also i LOVE how we literally watch him being portrayed as "the vengeance" but then becoming a true hero in the end, not only getting the bad guys, but also actually saving people.
There are almost arthouse levels of cinematography in this film. It's insane how far off the beaten path this is, thematically and stylistically, opposed to other superhero or even modern genre films in general.
I was literally this 😍😍😍 the entire time Rob Pattinson was on screen and he normally doesn't really do it for me, dude was phenomenal as Batman, loved his dynamic with Gordon, loved the aesthetic, loved the music
I like the idea that the way he gets around the city when there are no buildings to jump to is taking off the cowl and hiding in a costume down on ground level
This movie is a masterpiece, Batman had such a great growth in the movie from being a vigilante to a hero, and also his realization that playing Bruce is way more important than he thought, and how he not only influences good people he also influences his own villains, and the joker appearance in the end was absolutely gold
The shot of Batman leading the people to safety is quite possibly one of my favorite Batman moments in all of history. My favorite Batman is the one who actually tries to help people. In the animated series, he not only donated to charities, he volunteered at them himself. If he found someone in need of a job, he'd offer them one or help them get one. He tried to actually help his enemies that were victims of circumstance or poor choices, like Clayface, Two Face, he even tried to help Harley Quinn when she was trying to turn over a new leaf. He did his best to address the causes for the crime just as much as he did his best to stop criminals. One of my earliest Batman memories is watching the Justice League animated series; the members of the league with superpowers are trying to put a fire out, and he is the first one to dive into the burning building to save a trapped child and tells her not to be scared. Confronting a sleep deprived and distraught mother who is about to kill her baby because she's seeing it as a demon and trying to get her some help because she's unwell. In Justice League, sitting with Ace and holding her hand as she's dying instead of killing her like everyone has been saying he needs to. This is a facet of Batman that DC movies have been forgetting about for a long time; even the Christian Bale ones that I love never really showed Batman helping people, he just talked about protecting the city. The Batman I love actually wants to help people and shows compassion to people who deserve it, especially in his early years before he became jaded. This movie actually gets it; we see Batman go from the guy who just wants to punch the bad guys out and take them down. Who cares if people are scared? That's the point. And by the end, he's the Batman that I love, the one who is first to dive in and help the people.
This is year 2 Batman. He’s still starting up and trying to establish himself as the Worlds Best Detective. This is before he figures out that it’s necessary for him to use his “Bruce Wayne” appearance to get close to people and collect information outside of being Batman. He hasn’t really figured out who he is and who he wants to be as his Batman alter-ego is at the forefront. I love that Matt Reeves decided to go with this version of Batman rather than an origin Batman or a Batman who’s already been in the scene for years.
What I’m really excited to see about robs Batman is what happens when he faces a physical threat, really enjoyed the choreography Matt used in this film.
Also if you're having doubts about the new joker watch "the killing of a sacred goat". It's got Colin Farrel(penguin) and Barry Keoghan(new joker) as the main characters.
I was there for the bale batman and I was there for battinson and the batman is probably better than the bale movies for me they got Gotham right in this movie and I appreciated that alot bc I thought the bale movies felt like he was in a cleaner Chicago but In this movie it actually felt like gotham
Facts bro absolutely. That was always one of my issues with the Nolan films. Never looked like Gotham, just a regular American City. This Gotham was amazing in The Batman.
I really appreciate watching this with you guys. I've already seen it but the experience was ruined for me when my friend made fun of the movie. I wanted to talk about my theories but all she did was make jokes and it really upset and hurt me. But with you guys I got exactly what I wanted and I had so mush fun. I love this video and you guys.
One thing I'm excited for is Barry Keoghan's portrayal as the joker (seen talking to Riddler near the end, as I'm sure we're all aware lol) my only reason for being excited is that as of recently, Irish people have been getting big roles in huge superhero blockbusters, and being from Ireland myself, it was always a dream of mine to act in a superhero movie, whether it be Marvel or DC, but I thought it'd never be possible because I had never seen an Irish actor make it that big. Barry Keoghan grew up literally 14 minutes from where I live, Colin Ferrell too (the penguin), he's from an area like 20 minutes away from my house, and it brings such joy to me to see fellow Irish people get somewhere in life.
I loved this. I watched it twice at the movies and I was like wow. Also catwoman, my hero, my QUEEN. The music was beyond my expectations. Also, let us all talk about the real star of the show: batman's eyeliner.
yesss, this movie is so beautiful visually (and the score is FANTASTIC, the main theme taking the same chords from "Something In The Way" and re-arranging the rhythm into a funeral dirge is CHILLING). I love the grey-blue early morning shots so much. I had the same reaction near the end, to the guy saying "I'm Vengeance." That moment where Bruce realizes what he's ACTUALLY become and what people see in The Batman is such a huge impact. And I feel like it ties into a lot of other modern depictions of Batman too, where he's more like a mercenary than the hero he's supposed to be.
Loved this movie! I have to say I've never seen Ninetailedbrush, so animated! I've watched you guys for a few months, and a fair amount of reactions, and I've never seen him enjoy something so much :) Great to see! I appreciate your reactions guys!
While it was grounded, it wasn't as much as Nolan's, and I appreciate that. It had comic book moments, and it was a good detective story. I love that each director brings a different aspect of the comics to life. I look forward to the rest of the trilogy, as we see Bruce evolve and villains rise.
I was so sure I wasn't going to like it at all, same that happened to me with Joker, and it ended up being my favourite Batman, had me smiling the whole time. Absolutely stunning, that elevator scene so Darth Vader-esque (same cinematographer and composer from Rogue One). None of my friends like it so you guys enjoying it made me feel so understood. Great reaction! Btw, I strongly recommend you guys watch Prisoners, by Denis Villeneuve, starring Paul Dano, Hugh Jackman and Jake Gyllenhaal. Probably my favourite thriller, stellar performances, so so good.
All I have to say is I love this movie. U guys had a great discussion and I know the other comments will discuss some of the details of this movie further so I just wanna say how much I love this movie. It's a totally different avenue to a batman movie so I can see why maybe it wouldn't be up there with someone's fav batman films but for me this is top 2. As a film it's fantastic and as a batman story it's so fresh and interesting. This was my most anticipated movie since the teaser came out in 2020 and my expectations were blown out of the water. Im so glad u guys enjoyed it! Edit: Actually side note I did want to bring something up after further listening to ur discussion. One of my favorite things about this movie and the filmmaking specifically was almost this stylistic theme of voyeurism. The way the camera would follow something almost as if if was from a first person POV, how the beginning started literally from the riddler's pov through binoculars, the focus/blur thing u guys were talking about, and the close intimate shots. And it makes sense cuz it's a detective film, and so it shows batman being observant and looking and spying on everything he can and the audience was brought into that. It felt like we as an audience were constantly there viewing what the batman was seeing as he was seeing it and through his perspective and we as an audience were constantly being watched as well. It all felt very intimate and I think that's one thing that sets it apart from other batman films, specifically the nolan trilogy. cuz nolan's felt so big, with the massive wide sweeping aerial shots, to the fast movement and cutting between shots and scenes and the massive explosions and action sequences. whereas this movie had so many close ups, pov shots, and LONG takes that made the viewer feel like they were there.
I loved how they wrote Batman to make an organic mistake! He could have figured out the Riddler’s plan to flood the city had he not assumed that his identity was compromised. I love the writing in this film!!! Such a great reveal when you find out Batman’s identity is still an enigma to Riddler.
You'll be happy to know that a sequel has already been officially announced. Yeah Matt Reevea specifically said it was a crime noir. He knows the Batman comics inside and out. Pattinson is also a big Batman fan. This is my favorite Batman movie. I loved all of the character development, especially with Batman. People forget sometimes that he's human and even he has to start somewhere. I found it interesting that he sees no value in being Bruce Wayne right now. He was so obsessed with being Batman that he even pushed Alfred away. It'll be interesting to watch that duality take shape when he createsthat Bruce persona. Pattinson is an incredible actor so I'm not worried about him pulling Bruce Wayne off. The acting he had to do for this movie was mainly with his eyes and the more I watch it, the more nuances I notice. Or the more details like even the weather report on the news was all fog, rain, drizzle etc lol. You guys should check out some of Pattinsons other movies like The Devil All The Time or The Lighthouse w him and Willem Defoe, tho that movie is pretty f'ed up so probably not good for a reaction 😅 I'm hoping Catwoman will be back for another movie. Zoe Kravitz is my favorite Catwoman so far. They had great chemistry too and it didn't feel forced at all. The Batmobile... omg the whole theater shook when it fired up. No lie. It was crazy. No matter how many times I see that scene I still get giddy, lol.
the fact that in this suit his eyes look so white they don't need an extra dose of lightning effect on his eyes to make him look comic/animated accurate
'its so cool that even the civilians are scared of him' No It's not That's kinda the point of the entire film In the first batman fight scene, he looks at the victim with disdain. Doesn't even try to reassure him. Doesn't hold out his hand to help him up In the final battle he hears the terrorists use his own 'i am vengence' and realised that vengeance is bitter and twisted. That's when he chooses to become a hero. Sacrificing himself by cutting the electrical cord. Cleansing himself in the water below. And being reborn a hero..becoming a beacon of light, literally, with the flare. And finally holding his hand out to help the civilian population
@@juniegyllenhaal3937 what a well thought out and coherent counter argument I am especially impressed with how you addressed eland debunked each point in a systematic way Momma would be proud. Ya know... if pondscum where capable of experiencing human emotion :)
@@Axel-ye8ttdude.. Batman's entire arc in this film is going from vigilante out for revenge simply attacking the bad guys to hero out for justice who is also helping the innocent That's what this film is about
The Riddler never finds out Bruce is Batman in this movie, you guys misunderstood those scenes. He was trying to kill Bruce and left the fireproof note for "Batman" to find because he doesn't realize they're the same person. He loves "Batman" but hates Bruce Wayne. That's why in the interrogation room he says Bruce "is the only one we didn't get". Once he says that, Batman realizes Riddler actually doesn't know his identity and steps up to the window. Bruce Wayne represents everything Riddler never had in his life, he despises him, yet another reason he tries to kill him. That bomb was meant for Bruce, not Alfred. It would make absolutely no sense if he knew that Bruce was Batman.
@@JoshieboyStudios The dialogue in the interrogation room would make no sense if that were the case though. And they definitely would have addressed it later in the movie. Riddler knowing Batmans secret identity would be a huge deal for him, they wouldn't just gloss over it and not bring it up again later lol. The entire scene in that interrogation room is clearly supposed to be Batman misunderstanding why Riddler keeps repeating "Bruce Wayne". He initially thinks Riddlers addressing him, but then realizes he's actually just repeating it out of spite because he's angry that "he's the only one they(Batman and Riddler) didn't get". Again, this line makes no sense if he knew they were the same person.
@@AlexDelarge1990 It does when he knows there are cameras in the room. Riddler is a character who always likes to know more than others. If the information got out that Bruce is Batman, then he would have outed his “partner” and would render the info would be worthless to him. He sees it as Gotham’s ultimate riddle that only he knows I n the comics. Him repeating the name with a smirk could easily be from him taunting Batman. It would also explain why the pictures of Bruce in his apartment were marked with “I know who you really are”. It wouldn’t make sense if it just meant that Bruce was corrupt, because we know Riddler only wanted Bruce head because of his father.
I live near Liverpool where a lot of Gotham was filmed. I’ve walked past the St George’s Hall (Gotham City Hall) countless times, and it’s maybe a factor in why I see this as the most grounded Gotham. It feels like a lived in the city. I don’t know, maybe people from Chicago feel the same way about Nolan Gotham. But I really like this Gotham City.
the best part for me is how everyone else clearly acts like batman is just a weirdo lol very realistic I too would do a double take if a random dude showed up to a crime scene in a leather fursuit and acted like my supervisor edit. also I like how for once I could actually see this bruce adopting a child on a empathy driven impulse
I really didn't like it the first time I watched it but the second time I watched it I was like alright I get it... This is probably the second-best Batman movie ever made right behind the Dark Knight
I just saw this movie & I'm tired of saying this...but, another batman movie is the greatest superhero flick going so far! I don't know how many times I said, "Beautiful Scene or Beautiful Shot" while watching this movie, lol. *The opening with the music & Batman's Dialogue w/ everybody being scared of the dark was great. But, the whole symbolic part where he jumped onto the electrical cable, cuts it off with the batarang on his chest after that henchman used the same line that he did in the beginning of the movie, "I'm Vengeance"...realizing he was wrong. Then falls into the water, re-emerges "reborn"/"baptized" anew, becomes a symbol that he is..leading everybody by example with the flare/"Guiding Light" and gets their trust & gets them to come together/help each other, etc... I liked the little nod that Batman injected "Venom Toxin" into himself & he went into overkill mode that damn near smashed that guy's face in...Then finally, the shot of Batman riding away on the motorcycle, but staring at catwoman riding away in the side/rear view mirror, but "objects are closer than they appear" when looking through rear view mirrors, lol... Yeah, great movie... (Colin Farrell played The Penguin and whoever did his prosthetics makeup deserves all kinds of rewards! There's supposed to be a HBO MAX penguin series from this Batman Universe, but how Discovery is cancelling everything now, I doubt it.)*
I really like the direction they are heading for. I wonder if they are teasing a new Joker for the sequel with the last scene with the Riddler finding a new friend in prison?
I miss this reaction when it was released not sure how but I'm glad I found it Today. This movie is amazing. I freaking loved the look and feel of Gotham, how dirty and gloomy and wild it is. That was one of the things I missed in the previous ones, a bit more "down to earth" type of approach. The acting in this is incredible and yeah, it is my favorite Batman movie now. Congrats to everyone that helped make this one cuz they nailed it.
I was waiting for your guys’ reaction - since ya’ll just watched Joker, and Seven relatively recently. I was skeptical about this one, I’ll admit, but both Pattinson and Paul Dano KILLED in this movie. My only complaint is that it wasn’t rated R. Just to step it up a notch. Great flick tho. The use of “Something In The Way” was pretty ingenious, fits perfectly. Always been one of my favorites from Nirvana.
What I like about this Batman is the human aspect that he had. If your parents had been murdered and you wanted to spend your life finding out who killed them and helping out the city then you would would put everything in to that. And that is how this Batman is and I liked that.
A thing about Alfred Pennyworth.... He's not just some run of the mill stuff upper lip butler from England.... Alfred once served under the royal secret service to the Queen of England... And is a retired MI-6 OPERATIVE... So don't underestimate Alfred.... And the reasons why Alfred is Bruce's legal guardian is because Thomas asked Alfred to be.... Alfred practically volunteered....
i specially loved the fact that most of Batman's gadgets felt way more "real" than those from other movies. In those, he has very convenient gadgets that work because "something something science", like his cape, and the Batmobile is basically a tank. In here, thou there are still some futuristic things that we can't know how they work (like the recording contacts), the main things are pretty realistic, like him having a wingsuit consieled as his cape, or the batmobile being a car with a tuned engine.
I really liked this movie and I saw it twice in cinema. Yes it drags out and yes there are some plot holes and odd bumps in the movie but the pure talent in it is admirable. The acting is good, especially the riddler’s. Robert Pattison did very well too. The cinematography is incredible and the music is phenomenal. The music adds so much and it’s exactly what music is supposed to do for a movie. It makes you feel more emotion and it’s honestly the best music I’ve ever heard. The new Batman theme is incredible, I love it. The third act sorta annoyed me with how long and unnecessary it is and I personally think it would be better without the flood but it’s okay. Everything else makes up for the bad parts. I’m asexual so I’m not inclined to like a movie just for a character’s attractiveness so I pay attention the talent and how much effort and creativeness something takes. I appreciate more than someone’s looks lol
So iv mentioned this in Thor, Brandon, & Timothee’s reactions now, But I also saw a lot of parallels with The Followers of the Riddler, and Project Mayhem from the David Fincher classic FightClub...
You need to watch the behind the scenes of the cinematography because the focus and blur was all because of the lenses and not all after effects. It was super fascinating
I ENJOYED THIS MOVIE AT THE THEATERS🔥👏👏. ROBERT PATTINSON DID A GREAT JOB PLAYING BATMAN👍. ZOE KRAVITZ WAS REALLY GOOD AS CATWOMAN, ANDY SERKINS WAS REALLY GOOD AS ALFRED, COLIN FARREL WAS AMAZING AS THE PENGUIN AS I COULDN’T EVEN RECOGNIZE IT WAS COLIN AND PAUL DANO WAS PHENOMENAL AS THE RIDDLER🔥🔥👍. LOVED THE WAY GOTHAM CITY WAS SHOWN IN THIS FILM AS IT WAS DARK, RAINY AND SERIOUS. LOVED YOUR REACTION AND KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK👍👍
Yeah right? At first, Batman thought he did. But when he goes to Arkham and the Riddler says something like "Bruce Wayne is the only one we didn't get", it's obvious he doesn't know and you can see Batman's relief on his face.
ive seen this film 5 times on HBO Max and don't regret it its simply amazing and even if you don't like it, it's everything matt reeves and rob Patterson said it was going to be can't wait to see where it goes, yall should dive more into matt reeves films i recommend Cloverfield and let me in!
The Joker actor also co-star with Colin Farrell (Penguin) in "The Killing of a Sacred Deer", another portrait of maniacal and disturbed individuals and a good guess of what to expect next I think.
For the info Blackgate Penitentiary is the prison of Gotham. Arkham Asylum is a high security mental hospital for the criminally insane. It's even in is full name " Elizabeth Arkham Asylum for the Criminally insane"
This is straight out of the arkham games. The style of this film, the designs, the batsuit, environment, atmosphere and scenes(you'll see if you do a side by side comparison to the game cutscenes/trailers) everything is pasted from the arkham games This is live action Arkham knight unfolding I wanna see Arkham knight so bad in this universe
Judt recently found your chanel and wanted to say how good your videos are. You don't skip important parts and always pay close attention. Excellent stuff!
Great reaction , This is 1 of my fav Batman movies .......idk if you both seen it yet there's a animated movie of (Superman Batman Public enemies Volume 1) I'm not going to say too much about it besides saying that Batman held his own in it
Tons of '70s thriller & noir homage in this movie. Echoes heavily & especially "All The President's Men," with a fair amount from "Klute" ...and also the car chase with mounted cameras, etc., putting you right in the chase, sometimes driving recklessly against traffic, is very much referencing the iconic chase from "The French Connection." (Also: the deleted Joker sequence heavily references the first Hannibal Lecter movie, "Manhunter.") But the pitch for this Bruce Wayne was the depiction of Kurt Cobain in "Last Days" by Gus Van Sant. (Hence the Nirvana track.) The idea that Bruce at this point has an addiction to the Batman, and the test is for him to become something more, is really compelling & has never been done before. Also: for me, it's the ONLY Batman movie to date that actually depicts him, at least for a moment, being superhuman. Which happens all the time in the comics.
I didn't think I'd like this version of The BAT. This was actually very good because it was so different. I love that he didn't have everything. It's like he wasn't in the beginning stages but he was building his skill set still and it worked for me.❤🎉

It’s the most comic accurate Batman to date and it was just such a great experience.
Love the amount of references from comics they fit into this.
Serial killings beginning on Halloween: The Long Halloween
Batman suit aesthetic: New 52/Telltale/Arkham Origins
Catwoman aesthetic: Year One
Thomas Wayne saving Falcone: The Long Halloween
Colson refusing to snitch: Ego
Catwoman being Falcones daughter: The Long Halloween
Wayne family involvement in corruption: Court of Owls/Telltale
Flooding of Gotham: Zero Year/No Man’s Land
Probably missed way more, just so much for a comic book fan to pick apart!
Saw a lot of year 1 too

BEST BATMAN EVER diversity what? Genuinely depressed by this.
1:03:45 Don't know if you notice but this is a parallel to the first scene where Batman saves someone but the victim just say: Please, don't hurt me.
Compare that to this scene, where she doesn't want to let go of Batman
When he revved the bat mobile in the theater you could feel it in the seats- IT WAS AWSOME🫶🏾
That's so cool!!!
BEST BATMAN EVER diversity what? Genuinely depressed by this.
There are almost arthouse levels of cinematography in this film. It's insane how far off the beaten path this is, thematically and stylistically, opposed to other superhero or even modern genre films in general.
This Batman trilogy is going to be EPIC!! Love the new costume and brutal fight scenes.

@@carlogiurizzato2441 i could never be depressed by this i was always annoyed by Nolan's trilogy!
The sound design for the batmobile is amazing, the vehicle is actually frightening in this movie
Sounds like the Arkham batmobile when drifting
Someone asked me at a party who my favorite Batman was, and I couldn't believe I was saying it, but absolutely Robert Pattinson.
Bro Colin Farrel IS THE PENGUIN. Fkn amazing rendition!!

I really appreciate watching this with you guys. I've already seen it but the experience was ruined for me when my friend made fun of the movie. I wanted to talk about my theories but all she did was make jokes and it really upset and hurt me. But with you guys I got exactly what I wanted and I had so mush fun. I love this video and you guys.
yeah another movie this really drew from was Zodiac.. incredible film. My dad was a cop in the bay area during that time, he has some stories..
My one issue with the film is that Jim Gordon would not be so stupid to plug a thumb drive into an unsecure computer connected to the internet.
yesss, this movie is so beautiful visually (and the score is FANTASTIC, the main theme taking the same chords from "Something In The Way" and re-arranging the rhythm into a funeral dirge is CHILLING).

Its one of my favourite Batman Movie, my friends loved it.

You guys should check out some of Pattinsons other movies like The Devil All The Time or The Lighthouse w him and Willem Defoe, tho that movie is pretty f'ed up so probably not good for a reaction 😅
I'm hoping Catwoman will be back for another movie.
I loved this. Robert Pattinson said he wants court of owls to be in the sequels. I don’t know anything about them so I have to look them up.
'its so cool that even the civilians are scared of him'
No
It's not
That's kinda the point of the entire film
In the first batman fight scene, he looks at the victim with disdain. Doesn't even try to reassure him. Doesn't hold out his hand to help him up
In the final battle he hears the terrorists use his own 'i am vengence' and realised that vengeance is bitter and twisted. That's when he chooses to become a hero. Sacrificing himself by cutting the electrical cord. Cleansing himself in the water below. And being reborn a hero..becoming a beacon of light, literally, with the flare. And finally holding his hand out to help the civilian population

I think there’s a case to be made that he figured it out after his bomb didn’t kill Bruce.
DC really brought themselves up a notch with this movie
Best Batman adaptation so far!!! 👌🏼
But I really like this Gotham City.
the best part for me is how everyone else clearly acts like batman is just a weirdo lol very realistic I too would do a double take if a random dude showed up to a crime scene in a leather fursuit and acted like my supervisor
edit. also I like how for once I could actually see this bruce adopting a child on a empathy driven impulse
love watching you guys react to things :) you're both so attentive and appreciative of the story and the art itself
This whole movie was a graphic novel brought to life. A lot of this movie was pulled from the Long Halloween.
Robert Pattinson pretty much surprised me in this role he's fantastic❤

I honestly didn’t expect it to be good cuz I didn’t think Robert Pattinson could pull it off but holy crap it surprised me how good it was
have you seen how bonkers he was in the lighthouse?
Pattinson is a great actor. I don’t get why people mock him for twilight, those movies were okay

I love that we got a movie about a young 2nd year Batman and delivered
I was waiting for your guys’ reaction - since ya’ll just watched Joker, and Seven relatively recently. I was skeptical about this one, I’ll admit, but both Pattinson and Paul Dano KILLED in this movie. My only complaint is that it wasn’t rated R. Just to step it up a notch. Great flick tho.
The use of “Something In The Way” was pretty ingenious, fits perfectly. Always been one of my favorites from Nirvana.
It honestly didn't need to be tho. I didn't mind at all and it didn't feel like they were holding back
From the beginning, WB asked matt revees that this one have to pg 13, and matt have the same intention
They Think I'm Hiding
In The Shadows Goosebumps
I think the focus effect he’s talking about at the end is “tilt shift”
So iv mentioned this in Thor, Brandon, & Timothee’s reactions now,
But I also saw a lot of parallels with The Followers of the Riddler, and Project Mayhem from the David Fincher classic FightClub...
You need to watch the behind the scenes of the cinematography because the focus and blur was all because of the lenses and not all after effects. It was super fascinating

The Year One Batmobile was just a suped up muscle car.
It was Bruces fathers favourite car.
