Yum. These all look so good. I live near Austin, MN which is SPAMtown USA. There's a SPAM museum and a SPAM festival every year. I grew up poor and didn't realize my more privileged classmates didn't eat SPAM at home. I remember getting weird looks when I talked about looking forward to fried SPAM sandwiches for dinner. I still love it.
Cut the spam VERY thin. Like cheap bacon thin. Fry it in a pan or put it in the oven, but the oven makes it nowhere near as crispy. Tadaa! Bacon spam. I've been eating it this way for most of my life. I prefer it way more than normal thicker cuts.
I think this is the way. Spam is so exciting to eat, but it's easy to overdo it and it's like trying to eat a stick of butter or something. I like it when it's fried and still hot, so that it's sizzling when you eat it!
I'm watching this for maybe the third time, and hoping they didn't actually eat all this in one sitting! It makes me feel a little queasy just thinking about it!
Howdy from All the way over in Texas. Y'all are awesome. My wife and I absolutely love your channel, she is from Japan and I was lucky enough to live there for a year. Keep doing you!
ok, here's my recipe for spam salad. omit the eggs and veg for deviled spam. ingredients: 1 can spam, 4 heaping tbsp of mayo, 6 chopped hard boiled eggs, 1 stalk celery, 1/8th onion, 1 tsp mustard, 1 tsp horseradish, 1 tsp sugar, pepper (i go about 2 tbsp,) paprika (i go about 4 tbsp,) bread, crackers, whatever. method: in a bowl, smash spam with a potato masher add the mayo, mustard and horseradish okay, time to get real here. i'm not going to buy a bunch of celery or an onion for this. i'll use dried/powdered. if you have some spare celery or onion on hand count yourself lucky because fresh is way better. i'll also use store bought hard boiled eggs, i just can't hard boil an egg for some reason. chop your eggs and veg, if applicable, and add to the mix. spice it up. enough to cover up the saltiness of the spam. how much or what you use is up to you, because you know what you like better than i do. serve with bread as a sandwich (some lettuce and tomato would be nice here,) with a tortilla as a wrap or on a cracker as a appetizer. leave out the hard egg and serve on toast with poached eggs on top for a breakfast/brunch treat serving with a side of hash, fried egg and toast/tilla's also an option. there's so much room to play here. hope you enjoy, spam gets such a bad rep.
The Tamagoyaki link never appeared. Also I just had spamwiches today. For a little something different I took some mayo and added a little go-chu-jang sauce at a 4-1 ratio. It was so good that I think that's going to become one of my default spreads for my sandwiches!
The other day I stopped a sandwich shop and their "side" for the day was Cabbage, Spam, and Corn. Yum. The lady said her mom made it all time when she was growing up.
When I was growing up, in the 1950s Spam was pretty cheap and we ate a lot of it. Now it's pretty expensive but I keep a can or two, on hand..for quick meals. I love your ideas, here.

Aloha from Maui 😊 Coming from a family of 6, we always had the 25% less sodium Spam in our pantry. Our spam was always cooked with garlic powder, seemed to cut back on the saltiness. Spam and green beans (spam, string beans, tomato, garlic powder, and pepper) Spam casserole (spam, cream of mushroom soup, shape pasta and lots of black pepper). One of my favorite bars also makes their omelet just like your spam tamagoyaki. You should also try the Bacon Spam too - perfect addition in a grilled cheese sandwich.
Massage it! That was also funny for some reason. I never make any of the recipes that involve mashing or grinding up the SPAM block, it seems like that's already been done once! That sounds trivial when I write it down. It has a typical form that it's molded in to. HM. If one is going to use a lot of this, we used to buy a BLOCK of it that was refrigerated, it was from Hormel. Much cheaper, might have been five pounds as a meaty cube. I have occasionally thought they could put it in a bigger can, or a more ordinary shape of can and it might be cheaper. Especially if you're going to massage it anyway!
Worcestershire Sauce can be difficult to say if you're not from the UK because of the way it is spelled. Try pronouncing it "Wu-ster-sheer". We tend to just call it Worcester (Wu-ster) sauce.

A family favorite Spam recipe: One can of Spam cut up and placed into a food processor with one or a mix of your favorite cheeses (for us cheddar and jack or mozzarella) about a half cup. Grind the mixture a few pulses to get it going then add mayonnaise but not too much. Then grind again until a not so smooth paste. It should still have some tooth not be completely smooth. That is the basic, but you can do additions like mustard or ketchup or both, you can add a spoon or two of dill pickle relish or a small can of pimentos etc. Versatile stuff, eat off crackers or good quality white bread to make a great sandwich. Enjoy.
