Gordon Ramsay loving Spam is a plot twist I never expected.
i mean he went to hawaii and made videos about that, spam is a major component in hawaiian cooking
It's very popular in the UK despite it's reputation
When you taste what the average English person eats, this is almost gourmet, lol, especially back in those days.
@@bkm2797you've clearly never been to the UK or eaten here. Don't listen to the stereotypes. There's a reason why most of the world renowned chefs are British. I'm assuming you're American? So you can't talk! Most of the foods you have are chemical and additive infused. There's a reason why you have an obesity problem.
Spam musubi unironically slaps so hard
I wish spam still cost $2.00 a can!
lol right? Its $4 a can here and I think more elsewhere.

Now it's basically more expensive then most cuts of beef (excluding the high end cuts of course). $5 for 12oz..... I'll just get a 1lb ribeye for $9
@@arizonatea3734 Wondering where you get ribeye for $9 a lb.
I work at a Hawaiian restaurant and this is one of my favorite sandwich's. On top of what he did, add an egg, fresh green onion, and a slice of white American cheese. Literally my breakfast every Monday and usually every other Wednesday. Instead of the Fresno I do a dash of Sambal hot sauce, but effectively the same purpose in the dish.
If you make this, be prepared to wash your hands afterwards or eat it with gloves. Totally worth it.
Cool!

@@JF-NYC-NJ-Girl coming from someone who unironically used 'pls' and puts emoji's in their post. For reference, the usage of an apostrophe is technically not wrong in my post because it is showing ownership of a thing. The person responding to me doesn't understand English and assumed it was meant as a contraction.
My usage is not dissimilar to saying "The dog's ball". That said, this whole argument is nonsense and you should go eat good food rather than argue semantic nonsense online with people you don't know and will never meet. Let it go.
I'm 61 years old, and have probably been eating spam for at least 50 of those years! I simply fried up in a pan, throw a slice of American cheese on there put it on toasted brioche, and nothing more. And it's simply awesome just like that! They do have a knock off that they sell at the Aldi near me, it's pretty good, but the real spam is where it's at!
Thanks for the video! Now I'm hungry!
You just witnessed Gordon cooking Spam. You did not witness Gordon eating Spam.
It's Gordon Ramsey, Trailer Park Cuisine.
@noPrintingno…
@noPrintingif you were to google it for a second the first thing that pops up is that it’s made of pork… pork comes from the oinking farm animal called a “pig”. Pigs are not plants. If you’re talking about the other version called “OmniPork Luncheon” also known as a vegan spam then I think I could understand the confusion however in the video Gordon is using the regular pork version of spam

Growing up on a south London council estate in the 70s spam was a regular meal and i still love it, with six kids and not much money to go round, my mum could slice the stuff so thin you could read the paper through it 🤣🤣
Same here in Yorkshire 👍🏻I have loads in prepped pantry too
Was canned corned beef available? I am older than you. My father loved canned corned beef
Yeah! when I was a kid, my gran used to make me spam and pickle sarnies, beautiful.
Gordon grew up in Post WWII England where I guess Spam was common. But honestly it was the same here in America. My dad was born in the 50s 5 siblings. Middle class income house. And LOVES Spam. I think it's just ok as a millenial. But he still keeps it stocked in his cabinets to this day lol.
I used to slice thin so they became chips and my nephew and neices loved it. Thick is nice but the thin spam chips were gone so fast.
Never in my life did I think that I would see Gordon Ramsey eat and enjoy SPAM. Love that you made this video and love that you still eat foods that your mom used to make you as a kid.
Ramseys salt tolerance is in orbit
I expected him to soak/rinse the spam. it's insanely salty.
Not sure if he used the original or the low-sodium one. I prefer the low-sodium one, I can season it more with soy/teriyaki sauce.
He's a runner. He needs his sodium. Some athletes down a lot of salt before their race. But I agree. That's a lot of salt!!
I have to add half a teaspoon to my spam wtf you guys on????
Depends on who you are. Athletes need a lot of sodium. Me? I’m just slightly overweight, and I like over seasoned food 😂. Making your mouth pucker type of extra salt 😂
Spam was a Military staple and we would trade it in the Philippines and other places for different foods. Spam is amazing if done correctly and has so many uses.

I made a Spam Musubi rice bowl, diced up some Spam, browned it, then cooked it in Teriyaki. I put it on sticky rice and poached an egg, it was such a good lunch! But I made sure to get low sodium spam and teriyaki so it wouldn't be a salt bomb.

Here in the Southern US, you can often find the Hormel Brand of Spam in a Can for sale for about 2.50 or 3 bucks but they often have sales on it where you can get Buy 2 Get one Free. Since it lasts forever in the can, that makes it cheaper than 2 bucks a can. All depends on the Brand I think and where you shop! Smaller towns are cheaper!
Spam at $2/can? When was that?
Ha ha yeah costs more then a can of beans now, no longer a cheap staple
SPAM almost $4 a can in Arizona
@@jstrat121 Same here, where I live in Illinois. It can be had for about $3/can at Sam's Club, but you have to buy 8 cans at a time. Maybe not a bad idea in these uncertain times... I remember going grocery shopping occasionally with my grandmother back in the mid 1960's. She would LOAD up a shopping cart for $20. Now, that won't even buy two pounds of skirt steak. Heck, I could get skirt for $7.99/lb just two or three years ago. Now it's more like $12. Inflation has gotten to be crazy -- and is, in reality, far worse than government bean counters are admitting to.

Why is Spam becoming popular again? Are they telling us something?
Because people are that poor again
Because after the pandemic, now they’re worried about an apocalypse Lol 🧟♀️ 😂
Yes, they want us to die from processed foods that have chemicals, toxins, preservatives, and carcinogens so that you will have cancer and they profit off your illness. But by all means, it’s such a glamorous and elevated food that’s soooooooo amazing and worth making a viral video about to have more consumers die and pay for their health issues in a corrupt government that won’t provide universal healthcare nor a properly regulated food market for its citizens. You’re welcome. Sincerely a concerned citizen with a brain.
Spam has become a staple of Hawaiian food since the 40's and is still to this day.
@lisakomor9661 there's going to be worldwide food shortages in the next 20 years it's been planned for a long time it's literally biblical, and the amount of people that went bankrupt and entered the poverty class worlwide since the pandemic is much more than you can imagine , people cant even afford fuel or food now, i live in one of the wealthiest cities in the world and now the middle class have become extremely frugal, and yes zombies already exist just look at the streets of suburban usa.. braindead junkie zombies who will attack you scratching themselves and half falling over, just because you are fine doesnt mean everyone else is, wake up.
