When working in overlay mosaic crochet, there are times when you may have a long row of double crochet stitches. If you work these without anchoring them, you will end up with what is sometimes referred to as "fins" on the back of your project.
In order to avoid these, and in order to add some extra stability to your project, you can anchor your stitches!
I have viewed a few ways to do it however, I was looking for something a little different so, this is the result of playing with the idea! I hope you find it useful!

Nice short video. By the way, I invented the Anchored double crochet (Adc) many years ago. I'm glad to see that you enjoy using it!

Hello! I have since watched your video and our techniques are not the same. I am in many mosaic groups and have seen many videos and conversations regarding anchoring (I had not seen your name used there, apologies) but liked the way I landed on the best. I have also now seen other anchoring videos on youtube however, I note no comments like this are not on those? Best!

Did you give credit to “The Crochet Architect?” for using her technique?

Thank you for sharing your experience. I do not like the fins and I thought it was a mistake that I was making.

You are welcome! I also really enjoy it because it gives the fabric so much more structure!
