    I highly recommend trying Tunisian crochet with variegated yarn, for dishcloths. It mixes the colors up and they just shimmer and move in and out of each other, it's fun to make and fun to look at the finished product!

    So pretty...looks similar to the waffle stitch in regular crochet (which I love 😻). I do enjoy working Tunisian stitches, and can't wait to try this one...big, big, b-i-g plus is the no curl 😳. Thank you for the tutorial.🤗

    This may be odd, but of the crochet videos I've watched, you are the only one to hold the yarn in between your index finger and middle finger like I do. That's how my mom taught me, and my grandma taught her.

    Thank you! I'm new to Tunisian crochet and I've been looking for the stitch I want to make a warm cardigan. I think this is it! No curl and even the right side edge is perfect instead of stretched out looking like other stitches I've tried. I was getting really frustrated with the ride side edge thing. Thank you for keeping me from giving up on TC!

    What a great stitch! Thank you. I wonder- would one be able to use it diagonally as in a C2C or dec & inc at the edges? So often we learn new stitches but including how to inc & dec r never included! This seems to be a sturdy stitch so I have visions of “going diagonal” but my mind is shy trying to do it… Be great if a precedent were set?! Please😊❤️J C in Australia

      Hmmm I wonder why. Are you using a darker colorway maybe?

    • @missybrigner9958
      @missybrigner9958 16 дней назад +1

      @ICanCrochetThat I'm using the color way chimera
      I don't consider it dark. But it is a bit darker than yours.
      I'm also using cheap wood hooks I got off Amazon. I think I need to invest in some metal ones. Cause the yarn isn't sliding over the hook smoothly

    You can just go into the the chain in the normal way going into the back loop is just. craze I go into the front chain it's works out fine

    • @MsPandyGirl
      @MsPandyGirl 4 месяца назад

      I find it easier for me, if I'm going to go thru the back bumps. To use one size hook up from pattern hook. It's easier to thread the back side then. That's my helpful hint, hopefully. 😉

  • @nancyfew1375

    Is this the same as the old afghan stitch? I never could get it to work on a regular crochet hook: the stitches at the beginning (right side)of the hook ended up really loose, while the stitches on the left side were too tight. I'd love to do a baby blanklet for my great-grandson in this stitch, but don't think I could get that many loops on one hook. Suggestions?

    • @nancyfew1375
      @nancyfew1375 29 дней назад +1

      I have the same problem with the stitches, but I found a long crochet hook at Hobby Lobby that should be long enough to make a blanket for MY great-grandson. Or you could try to find a hook with the cable like the one she has. I don't know if that will solve the problem of the loose right-side, tight left-side stitch issue, but give it a try. BTW, the half double is my favorite stitch, so I'm eager to try this pattern.

    • @ICanCrochetThat
      @ICanCrochetThat  7 месяцев назад

      Hi Jessica! After you do your chain, turn it over and you'll see the little back bumps. You'll insert your hooks in those and not the chain. I have an up close picture of the back bumps in this post: icancrochetthat.com/tunisian-crochet-rainbow-blanket-pattern/
