My first bird lasted about 5 flights then the carbon rod broke on the wing which I replaced ok then the pinion gear stripped which is plastic that I was able to replace with a brass pinion with new 3800KV motor from Hobby King then at about 20 flights the main large gear stripped, My second bird main gear lasted 5 min from maiden and stripped so I need 2 new main gears and hobby king do not sell spares
Yep, very little throttle is needed to fly this. Since you are already going to get inside this bird, you may want to look at the other comments on this thread and on the maiden thread to see notes on how to get a module for this bird to make it glide. As you know, it doesn't glide at all in it's current state.
Technically, you are seeing my past, relative to my present, but in my future, which has now passed, and now exist in my past. We made history! Thanks for stopping bye. All the very best to you!
+Raptor50aus The TX should be set to "elevon" in wing type. One servo goes to ELE and the other to AIL. Try swapping and playing with reversing until it all works properly. Unless you use the RTF stock TX, you need a switch before the sound will work. Look on the thread on RC Groups to find out what kind of switch is needed and how wire it. Under no circumstances should you connect that plug that comes directly from the ESC to the RX. You'll smoke it. That connection is for the stock RX and TX. There are no parts available for this. This thing will NOT glide and it can land awkwardly and hard. There's a good chance it will last no more than 3 flights before something breaks.
+Xviperprime Exactly correct. I finally got the landings down. You have to flap this one all the way to the ground. I've already had to repair a foot with all the experimentation.
Still going, and no problems. The rubber beak helps quite a bit as you get used to the landings on the first few runs. You must flap this all the way to the ground, or else it's a crash land. It does NOT glide.
Mine is still going. I fly it regularly. These seem to be a hit or miss for people. Even a friend of mine had one that did not last, while another has had great luck like me. I did break the foot during the first two weeks of having this, and it did lead to bigger problems, which resulted in me building a metal forge, casting a part, rebuilding it only to have a bearing set go out, due to binding, and then rebuilding it again, but all in all, this one has been fun. I have two of these. Both fly great and one is in flawless condition...and I fly it quite often. It's mastering the landing at first that gives most people problems. All the best to you!
Hey Darren, I have a couple of videos relative to this bird here on my channel. I have an attempt at a fix for this bird, and then one where I build a forge and cast a part for it for a fix. These are pretty funny since the first couple of attempts to fix it didn't work out. Go check em out. They are pretty funny. All the best to you.
Seems that for the first time in over 65 million years, a pterosaur flies over the skies!
Do you mean pterodactyl?
@@external3803 Pterodactyl was the name given to the first Pterosaur ever discovered
I know it is kinda randomly asking but do anyone know of a good website to watch newly released movies online?

+Raptor50aus I broke the foot, but it was easily repaired. I have had NO problems with this bird and I'm still on the first one
yes it seems to use about 2/3 throttle
my RTF version flys great
Rocsky are sending me spare parts from china too

Hey Stu, What do the 2 servo leads connect to on the RX ?
I have a DX9
Mine has the sound lead too

Sorry for the delay. They don't make these anymore.
How well does it hold up?

Glad to know, I just ordered a couple, HK has them on sale for $120.00
that's a steal.
I know that's why I jumped, have one got spares.
That's for the RTF version too.
Combien le prix?
I had one of these it's a piece of junk the wings snapped on my first flight
