My spine surgeon, who is Mbbs, ms ortho, fnb spine surgery, AO fellow, fellowship in spine surgery from South korea, Japan, usa told me to do 50 times extension exercise and 25 times flexion exercise for chronic disc bulge ( according to symptoms u mentioned) , and i am fine now, i followed yours and other crappy physiotherapist advise and my pain increased, thank god i consulted a spine surgeon.

One more thing I would like to add for lower back pain. Take at least 8hr sound sleep daily. Personally, when I dont get proper sleep, my back hurts badly.

Nerves main bht khichao. Legs sab se ziada discomfort rehti. Kisi bhi time pain shoro ho jaati. Plus at the same time knee painful popping bhi barh jaati hai
