      @fiesta510 nope just watch all of his videos and go over them over and over. You will pass. Super easy. Its like seven different versions of the test. First test I took and failed was mostly on sterilization, the second test I took was mostly on decon. So go over all of your notes and watch his videos over and over

    I have a curious question about when getting sick while being employed as SPT. If it's an illness such as the common cold, not something too terribly contagious, could you trade shifts with someone to work on the dirty side? Or would they still want you to be absent? have been wondering what policy's are when sick in this profession.

    • @BostonCareerInstitute
      @BostonCareerInstitute  8 лет назад

      there's more than one way of looking at this. :) a) if you are concerned with being a susceptible host while sick, the last place you want to be is decontamination. From that stand point call in sick but well enough in advance, have a good relationship with coworkers that will step in for you and you for them. b) if you are not too sick you can wear a mask in the rest of the department and of course, defer to the department policy.

    Is NY City tap water safe to drink?

    • @BostonCareerInstitute
      @BostonCareerInstitute  5 лет назад +1

      I wouldn't! Having said that, it is better than most municipal systems. One other thing you can do, is to Google water quality by ZIP code and the EPA will provide you with a list all things in the water with in that particular zip code very accurate.

  • @BangerangEliko
    @BangerangEliko 6 лет назад +1

    Careful what you say about the tap water - different cities get their water from different sources, regulated and treated differently. Im from NYC and our water quality is pretty damn good.

      ChemicalCrimson I appreciate you paying close attention to the content of my lecture. Thank you also for the article that you shared. While it is well known that NYC water is certainly well treated and is combined with some of the best sources of fresh water, it is also important to understand that the water contaminants that are in the NYC tap water while OK for human consumption are not OK for use for sterile processing. You and I may differ in our opinions as to what is reasonable for use for drinking, one should understand that dissolved solids in the water interfere with cleaning instruments and may impede the process of sterilization. www.nyc.gov/html/dep/html/drinking_water/wsstate.shtml this is a link to the official NYC water report and it lists in detail all the parameters of NYC water. On a personal note, I spend a fair amount of time in NYC and can tell you that many restaurants in NYC filter their water before serving to clients because a variety of tiny crustaceans have been found in the water. They appear as tiny white spots in the water. Thanks again for sharing your thoughts and the article.
