I bought a 2017 civic si coupe in 2018. I've had it for 6 years. It has 70k miles on it now. I live in a hot climate so the rotors warped around 60k miles. I replaced with drilled and slotted rotors and new brake pads. Today at 70k miles I finally just put new tires on it. It's my primary commuter car for work. I love it very much and hope to keep it for many more miles and years. It is the most good looking, fuel efficient, most fun car to daily drive for cheap I've ever owned. No issues so far. I love it.
I have a 2017 civic si coupe, and my dad has a 2022 civic si sedan. His is even more badass. His can drive by itself by following the lines on the road with cameras, it has 2 step because he has a tuner / tune on it. The 11th gen also has vtec, which mine does not. His is faster with his mods, and has more electronics because they put more in on the next gen. They are both nice. I just prefer the coupe so I gotta stay 10th gen for now. Maybe if the prelude they are releasing is successful, that might be my next car after the si
Honda needs to fix the rev hang in these cars and then maybe I'll consider buying one again in the future. Until then, I'm not buying another one. I had a 2020 Si Coupe for about 2 and a half years and it was the most frustrating and annoying car to drive because of the rev hang. I couldn't stand how it drove and it drove like absolute trash when it was cold. I regretted buying the Si for a long time because of the rev hang. It drove me nuts. Traded the Si in back in August for a 2023 WRX and I couldn't be happier. I really wanted to love the car, I truly did but I was beyond disappointed with how it drove and the amount of rev hang was in it. Out of all the vehicles I've driven, the Si was definitely the most disappointing. Please fix the rev hang Honda. You would make so many people happy and you'd probably have a lot more Si sales if you did. This honestly turned me away from having another Honda period unless I have to go to an automatic.
broo... letting your engine bay get THAT dirty.... and putting it on camera to show it off.. is just brutal. Get a 2019+ Si and youl bet better off as far as a great daily driver car goes
Like I tell everyone now in the the si’s are not unless you gonna keep it stock, spend thousands of dollars to only make 300hp. for the price new once’s are coming out you better off getting a n-line or N or even a gt86 or anything 😂
I agree with you. The SI is more for the right person. I looked at cars for 2 years before I settled on the 2017 civic si coupe. I average 37 mpg. Good for commuting. The g86 doesn't get that kind of fuel mileage, it's a bigger engine. I'm not driving a hyundai or kia, personal. I looked up every car. There's tons of small 4 cylinders with turbos, how many of them have the limited slip differential in the front? Not very many. The si has it. It is the perfect car for me for commuting to work. It gets great fuel economy, i like the looks of the coupe, it has given me no problems so far, and it's fun to drive. If I want a fast car I'd go get a mustang GT, but I need the fuel economy for commuting. Mine is stock under the hood. The only thing I "upgraded" was drilled and slotted rotors because I live in a hot climate and the stock ones warped under the heat.
*Everyone will talk down on any civic that’s not an R but forget folks buy cars for themselves not to impress others*

Had a 2017 back in 2020. But had so much issue with it I decided to sell it instead. It was fun while it lasted with a few mods.
What did you get next?
My 2017 si coupe is bone stock and I have had 0 issues so far. Only at 70k miles. I love it and hope it will last many more years and miles.
Review a 11th gen si

worst si gen
Crappy engine
Better fuel economy than a camaro, less money spent commuting to work everyday. No issues with my engine so far.
